Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro

Reason I give this place 5 stars is because the woman/manager with the glasses is excellent. The food is good and the service is good but she excels at her job.
She’s always on the move, whether it’s checking to make sure everyone is happy, waiting tables or dealing with the customers. I think she does an amazing job. So 5 stars because of her.
Food wise the place is solid.

Loved the experience!! The service, attention to details and customer needs is outstanding. The cocktails are freshly made and not that sugary. The food is to die for crispy carrots risotto ball, chicken wings, vegetarian pasta, chicken Parm everything made fresh and delicious. Pastas were delicious too.

This was a wonderful experience. Totally impressed by the service and the food.

For appetizer we had the carrot balls which were yummy and so was the chicken. It was totally worth it. We even repeated the order of carrot balls because it was really good.

Cocktails were good and would definitely recommend the expresso martini which was excellent.

The best thing was since we had a vegetarian person, and there was no specific option for us. The chef adjusted and totally made something fresh And it was so yumm. The pizza and chicken Parm was also great.

The food and service is worth coming for.

We had dinner here recently and loved it! My son and his best friend had the meatballs and clams as appetizers. My son had the pasta carbonara + loved it. I had the cavatelli with broccoli rabe, The pasta tasted homemade and the broccoli rabe was prepared perfectly. I'm vegetarian so they left out the sauage for me. Our friend got a pizza and loved it. Our cocktails were great too! Cynthia who acted as both our bartender and server really took great care of us!

I liked my visit to Piattino. It has a convenient location and makes great use of it. The atmosphere is compact and alive. There is a perfect mix between authenticity and modernization. The menu is a bit short in my opinion but from the select choices there is definitely a meal for everyone. My personal choice is the steak frites that were paired with a cup of fries. Both were seasoned in a way that gave definition to the meal. The service was impeccable as the kind young man that was our waiter continually checked in on us and was atentive to our requests. Refils were consistently offered and when it was time to pay the check, he kindly walked us through the point redemption service. Talk about a great trip with some distant relatives!

Piattino has become our Saturday or Sunday late afternoon place we spend time together. Their herbed milk ricotta and toasted bread is worth the trip alone. We always get it with an extra side of Sunday sauce. Comfortable with a friendly, helpful team, Piattino is a great night out.

Always a pleasant experience! The staff goes above and beyond to provide excellent service for both regulars and new customers. I've been a regular for a couple of years now, even though it's out of the way; it's well worth the trip. They always have the classics but they mix it up with different regions of Italy.

Wow! First time eating here and I am sorry that I waited so long to try it out. I went with friends for dinner. The grilled octopus appetizer was amazing! We all loved our dishes that came out promptly. Everything was fresh and seasonal. The atmosphere was very cozy. Our server was excellent. I will definitely be back soon!

I have ordered an in store made gnocchi. Flavor of the tomato sauce was naturely sweet and fresh. It took me right back to the time when we traveled to Sorrento for our honey moon. Gnocchi texture and taste was just right, not to soft or hard. And the cheese. Omg it was so soft and tasteful but nor overcooked. 10 out of 10. Of course I have made the topping with a glass of draft Peroni. Extremely clean facility and very friendly staff.

The truffled carbonara and the strawberry basil Italian soda are to die for.

Had dinner here for the first time a few nights ago. It was great! Erin was our server, and she did a fantastic job. The food came out perfectly. They didn't look like great big servings, but the food was most definitely filling. Will definitely be headed back!

Best neighborhood restaurant and by far one of the best takeout dinners we have enjoyed in a very long time! Upon my arrival for pick up, I was greeted by a very personable staff. The check out process was fast and very friendly. My husband ordered the bolognese ravioli (in red sauce instead of white sauce, which they accommodated with no issues) and I had the Tuscan grilled flat iron steak (medium), but we always share. Both dishes were amazing, especially the steak which was cooked perfectly. I wished the other 40 North restaurants staff, could learn from the Piattino Mendham Chef and the personnel!

The food, waiters, and service were all exceptional!! We got the veal risotto and chicken parmigiano which were both delicious and tiramisu which was the best tiramisu we’ve ever had. Plus they give a great serving size and the vibe of the restaurant is very cozy and relaxed. We’ve had their pizza as well which is always super good too!!

I am somewhat new to the area and have only experienced this place post-covid, so I can only speak of the food we get for take out. The food has been tasty, but what keeps us ordering take out more often than not are their desserts. They are so delicious, and some of the best I've had recently from local restaurants. The cheesecake is appropriately "cheesy" and tart without being overly sweet, the limoncello cake is delicious and the tiramisu is my favorite. Happy to have discovered another great place for takeout!

Margherita & farmer's pizza completely scrumptious. Jonesin' for the Sardinian octopus white bean toast just from seeing it on the menu. 🥰

First off, service is always extraordinary. Very nice brunch offered in Sunday. You can also choose from the entire menu. Food is always perfectly prepared. Also have a liquor license. Great place in Mendham.
