Flatwater

Arrived here at around 6:30 today and the place was busy. There was a definite buzz, people were chatting and enjoying themselves. Music could be heard through out the joint from the live band playing outback on the patio starting at 7pm. Plenty of seating inside and at the bar and patio outside. No reservations accepted here first come first serve. Parking will be your only issue here, it is very limited but worth your trouble hang in there and find a spot. They have a rather limited menu but, what we ordered we enjoyed. We choose two appetizers the fried calamari and the smoked chicken wings. The calamari was prepared like steak fries served on a smear of bbq sauce with Thai chili sauce. Calamari is a favorite of mine and I always like to try when I find it on the Menu, is was good here. The Smoked chicken wings were good also. They were crispy with a rich smoky flavor and bbq and ranch dressing on the side. Now for the entrees the Wife selected the house special tonight which was : grilled swordfish on a bed of rice with a delicious chutney on top with grilled broccoli on the side an incredibly flavorful and tasty dish. For myself I just settled for the burger and I have to say I loved it. Lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion with Swiss cheese on a toasted bun nothing fancy. Comes with fries and a pickle spear. My only comment would be there should have been more fries. Burger was great! Service was fast informative and came to the table quite often to ensure you were enjoying your food. Great place, we loved it here I look forward to a return trip.

So so so good. The food was amazing and the service was just as good! We tried the nachos and the Reuben and they were both some of our favs! We will definitely be going back!

Great place to hang out with friends. You can sit on the patio next to the canal or inside. I sat inside next to open windows on the canal. The server was very nice and attentive, the food was great, and it was a fun place to be. It's a little pricier here, but well worth it because of the quality and atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend it!

One of the most awesome atmospheres in the village. Open air drinking and dining inside and a fairly large outdoor deck on the canal. Friendly and efficient service. Satisfying menu and an experienced kitchen staff that always gets it right.

Omg. Food was so good. Brisket rueben and Brussel sprouts were both great. Servers were really friendly and founders breakfast stout. Split the sandwich and it was plenty.

This was my second time there, and it keeps getting better. Our server was super nice and so helpful with recommendations (pic 3, the chicken fiesta bowl). The drinks were fresh and so good. We didn't realize when we picked it but Friday nights, they have live music on the patio. Didn't get pics of my friends meals but they all gave 2 thumbs up

Got us in quickly on a Saturday Eve. Cocktails were delicious. Food was delicious and beautifully plated. Atmosphere was 10/10. Manager Mike was very kind and checked on us several times. Every member of the staff was incredibly welcoming and professional.

Been here many times over many years. Consistently good food & service. We’ve sat on the patio many times (which is my preference) part of the patio is under roof & part is umbrellas. Sits right on the canal. They have a bar on the patio also. Live music on the weekends. Inside is great as well, nice atmosphere. Food has always been consistent & very good & fresh. Nice diverse menu. Prices are fair, cocktails are strong, beer is cold. Manager or possibly owner always greats us, great staff! Zero complaints.

This place was great! Lindsay (I may have misspelled that) was spectacular! She was so good with our girls, and knows the menu forward and backwards.The hostess was super inviting and friendly. She’s also a wealth of knowledge when discussing the menu. The manager (White Sox Fan) checked on us and was very personable. This Flatwater is definitely the place to be! Thanks so much :)

I first want to say that our server Brittney was truly amazing and provided exceptional service! The feel and atmosphere of this location is welcoming and comfortable. The food was honestly a wonderful experience and the menu provided plenty of options. The burgers were cooked to perfection and was well taken care of by our server Brittney.

NOTE: Pricing is great for groups of 2! The Music bands are an amazing event.

This place was WONDERFUL. We specifically found this place on a list of dog-friendly restaurants in Indy to visit post-eclipse and had a fabulous time. Even on a super busy evening, the staff was incredibly friendly and got us settled in the porch waiting area with outstanding cocktails while we waited for a table. The cocktails were all delicious (highly recommend their take on a whisky mule). The staff loved our dog and all kept coming over to say hello, and even brought him a bowl of water mid-meal when he looked like he was getting warm. The food was amazing: I had a grilled cheese with bbq brisket and it was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, great staff, dog friendly: Highly, highly recommend.

Visited this place for weekday lunch. It was drizzling that day but with the patio covered with awnings, it made our experience amazing. We ordered band bang cauliflower and black bean burger with guacamole on the side. The burger patty tasted freshly made not like frozen patty warmed in the oven which is how most places serve it. Cauliflower had a very unique taste. I loved the fresh food and the portion size was good. Rum runner cocktail was recommended by the server and didn’t disappoint. For the first time visitor, we loved this place and will definitely return.

First time dining in tonight with the kiddos. Place was awesome, Food was delish, great value for the price, kids loved their food too. The seared tuna and Smked Pork Al Pastor Tacos were awesome. Lindsey our server was fantastic. The host, the manager. This place is firing on all cylinders. Highly recommend. So nice to have a great spot in the Broad Ripple Area. Thank you Flatwater!!!

We took a friend here for her birthday and had a great time. Pasta was alright, the tacos and the brisket grilled cheese was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and took our picture after we sang happy birthday. The cake was decadent. We'll definitely be back.

This place is the gem of Broad Ripple! Tom and the owner Allen made sure we we were well taken care of all night. Tacos were amazing, and the live music and atmosphere were the cherry on top. Can’t wait to come back, well worth the drive from Kokomo!

The location, ambiance, and the staff make this place great! The food was good as well. The hostess showed us the entrance to the canal which was really neat!

My husband and I came here for the first time tonight and it was a 5-star experience. Our server, Grace, was friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. And the food was fantastic, every bit of it. Fresh and hot. We had the fried calamari as an appetizer.. I ordered brisket nachos as my entree while my husband has the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with the Brussel Sprouts. We ordered hummingbird cake to go. I would highly recommend everything we ate! Definitely returning to this gem. Oh! And we sat out on the patio facing the canal. It was peaceful, a wonderful atmosphere for our amazing dinner.

I visited Flatwater for the first time with coworkers this week & was very impressed! The Baja Shrimp tacos were DELICIOUS. I added avocado and it made them even more scrumptious! I was stuffed but we celebrated my birthday so our server brought chocolate cake and it was amazing as well. Very light & fluffy! Our server (can’t think of his name) was really down to earth and very great at his job. He took great care of us! We will definitely be back!

We went at ~5pm, the day of the solar eclipse. They were totally slammed, but it was def worth the wait. Patio mule was so refreshing in the warm sun. Wedge salad was crisp. Brussel Sprouts and bang bang cauliflower tacos were delicious. Dinner on the water was exactly what was needed that day, OH, and they're dog friendly, so we sat on the patio.
