Bluecoast Seafood Grill & Raw Bar Bethany

My daughter and I went to Blue Coast Bethany as part of a girls weekend trip. It’s was absolutely FANTASTIC. The oysters were delicious and some of the freshest we’ve ever had. I had the seafood stew which had such a rich, and savory broth which highlighted the fish. My daughter had the crab cakes which were easily the best we’ve ever had. They had no fillers, all crab. Last, I cannot remember the last time we had a dinner in which the staff was not subtly nudging us to leave to turn the table over. It was a great experience, which we will not forget.

Stumbled on this locations after driving out from Dewey with “food” thrown into Google. Ended up realizing they have another location and brewery (if I read it all correctly) in Rehoboth on 1 as well.

Incredibly glad that of the places open in the offseason, this was one of them AND the one we landed in.

From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. We usually try to avoid showing up to a restaurant if it’s within a hour of closing… we got here with a little more time than that, but our servers all made sure to tell us it was fine and they would be happy to take our orders.

Matt made one of the freshest, tastiest tuna bowls that we ever had, on the raw bar right in front of us. He also took the time to explain the different oysters he was shucking for another order.

Our bar service from Tiffany was excellent, and when we heard there was a 13 year old Pappy available, knew we had to give it a try. When my wife was torn between two drinks, she asked a pretty simple question and then gave a “I know what you need”, and came back with a drink that exceeded her expectations.

Lauren, which my understanding was the manager for the night, was a great addition to the crew and we had a great chat about the place, and a good conversation.

Dessert was bread pudding, and was highly recommended by all 3 of them. It was great finish to the evening.

A great group of people, with an excellent selection of food and drinks. Will certainly return this summer!

What an amazing food experience 🤤

This place has exceeded my expectations across the board. A fine drinking Brunello, outstanding seafood, and wonderful vegetarian options.

The calamari melts in your mouth with a perfect cook time and nicely seasoned breading that's very crispy, but not overdone.

Three kinds of squash accompanied my fish, all the vegetables were not overcooked or undercooked so they still had perfectly textured skin and flesh.

If you're seeking a great meal that has many varieties of seafood, look no further.

This place is spot on; a relaxing environment and tons of options that'll tickle any fancy, you won't be disappointed.

I cannot stress how good this restaurant is. It is easily one of the top spots in Sussex County, if not one of the top spots in the State of Delaware. Always fresh, the seafood is amazing. Service is top notch. They work as a team to make sure you are taken care of. The main dining hall can get noisy, but outside (both front and back decks) are wonderful during the summer and fall. Highly recommend the blackened tuna.

Our family group of 14 reserved the back deck overlooking the marsh, which was lovely (tho brutally sunny from 4-6 pm). Food and service were amazing! Especially for the holiday. Stars were the rockfish (bites & broiled), raw & baked oysters, seafood stew, scallops, crab cakes, hush puppies & devilled eggs!

Excellent happy hour from 4-6pm! We ordered almost the entire HH menu and loved every item ($1 oysters, truffle tots, crab deviled eggs, shrimp dumplings, mussels) in addition to the strawberry salad and coconut shrimp. Not only was the food delicious, but the cocktails were also great value, strong, and flavorful. And to top it all off, the service is top notch from every employee. We’ll be back for sure!!

Loved this place.
My lobster pasta was so delicious I was compelled to taste the dishes of my partner, my brother and his wife all of which I would order upon my return. The crab cakes were my absolute favorite.
I will be back and I'm a three hour drive from the restaurant. That says it all.
My only regret is not seeing the sunset as it was overcast when we were there.
Waitress was fantastic.
Five stars all the way.

This place was lovely. Happy Hour with $1 oysters can't be beat, service was so friendly and the vibe very modern but relaxed. We were 4 adults and 2 teens. Update: Came again 2 nights later and we were 6 adults and 5 teens. Still awesome.

Our second time eating here and we will keep coming back. Food is excellent - fresh, clean, flavorful. Prices are reasonable. Service was top notch. Our waitress (Megan) was simply the best...she absolutely took care of my wife's celiac needs and was just a delight to talk with. She should be highly valued by her employer. Campfire cake! Save room for that one!

Awesome Christmas Espresso Martini. Service was great, sat at bar and enjoyed an appetizer (scallop fried rice - delicious). Would recommend. Look forward to coming back.

Arrived to a packed house. Wait was only 30 minutes. Appetizers, entrees and desert were well timed and everything was spot on. Our group had the calamari, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, tuna, spaghetti and clam, fish and chips and Lobster cavatappi, as well as the bread pudding award winning key lime pie. Amazing all around. The spicy Margaritas are to die for and the service was attentive but not overbearing and the check came promptly. You can not go wrong with Blue Coast for dinner or any special occasion.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary and from appetizer through the main course everything was wonderful. Best swordfish I’ve had and I added the side of cheesy grits that was served separately and I added to my plate. My wife loved her shrimp and grits and the shrimp dumpling appetizer. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful experience. First timers in Bethany Beach before baby and we needed to unwind and enjoy some good food. So glad we found this spot! Very impressed. Everyone from start to finish was super friendly and accommodating. The food didn’t disappoint, either! We happened to go at just the right time: the sunset was absolutely beautiful. Wine list is VERY IMPRESSIVE!

I can’t stop thinking about that frisée salad. Wow. So delicious. Tater tots were surprisingly good baked oysters juicy and flavorful and the halibut was cooked to perfection 👏 … ended the night with some key lime pie! Yum.

We have been coming to the OCMD for almost 30 years and never once have we been to Bluecoast before. It was absolutely delicious! Next time we come back, we'll definitely be visiting again. Their cocktails were well made, their starters were plentiful and flavorful, and their fish entrees were fresh and well seasoned.

So glad we braved the estimated 1.5 hour wait to go to dinner here last night. Luckily for us, the wait was only 50 minutes and while we waited we were able to grab a drink from the bar and chat outside. The food was delicious, the service was good, the martinis were excellent. I would 10/10 come back!

Came in for a solo meal and sat at the bar on a busy Friday night. The bartender was always attentive and very helpful. Honestly it was one of the best meals I have ever had - I got the vegetarian farmer’s bowl and had a crab cake added to the side. It was all crab. No filler and the vegetables were amazing. Truly an amazing meal.

This place never disappoints! It has become our fav in Rehoboth & Bethany area... Both are equally as good even though they have slightly different offerings at each. Service is always amazing! And the food is nothing short of mouth watering good, every. single. bite of everything we have ever tried!

Great food and great service! Love their happy hour and oysters! The food is consistently good and the same quality year round. Always different and tasty specials, including soups and poke bowls. The bartenders who serve for happy hour specials are friendly, welcoming, and remember you!

Michael was our server. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. My hubby and I split an appetizer of baked oysters. They were very tasty and so tender, they melted in our mouths! My lobster cavatappi was delicious, as usual. My husband was very pleased with his Togarashi tuna which had a little "kick". A very pleasurable dining experience capped off by 25% discount on entire check every Wednesday in off-season. We are never disappointed dining here.

Great place, great views from the dining room. We went early for happy hour and had the deviled eggs and raw oysters. They feature an oyster of the day for happy hour. The dining room is small and lively but you can also sit at the large bar to eat dinner. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful in making our wine and entree selections.
