horizon elementary is awesome. get Mrs wongswan i had her and she thought me my multiplication fast she is awesome.

My experience with the staff at this school has been pleasant.

This was the worst school ever. My daughter came home crying every day due to bullying in second grade in 2016. It wasn't the other kids bullying, though, it was the second grade teachers. We had a horrible experience. I spoke to other parents of children in her class and they said their children were saying the same things my child was saying. My daughter had Crawford and Wongsuwan. Crawford wasn't as bad as Wongsuwan.
The teachers humiliated them in front of the class. They kept in from recess to work on subjects they were doing fine in. They never communicated to me that they had an issue with my child's work until I complained about her being kept in from recess. At that point I found out that they were making her do math that she'd mastered a year before, but they wanted drills for tedious but easy addition problems done faster. That's ridiculous!
My child was wildly successful in her previous school. She has been at the top of her class in her current school. The teachers at North Rich Elementary are wonderful. Horizon Elementary was just a nightmare.

There is a second grade teacher Mrs. Meg Wongsuwan who does not teach dual immersion. She is the only option if your child does not fall into the dual immersion program. BEWARE. She is not a nice teacher. She belittles the kids and makes them scared and insecure. Grant, Viewmont, Longview, and Liberty are much better options. The Principal does not follow up with parents and my confidence in the school has been seriously diminished. Kids have been told they cannot use the bathroom and have WET THEIR PANTS in this class. Kids have been told they cannot call their parents and as a result don't get FOOD. What kind of a school administration would ever let a teacher continue to treat kids like this? Horizon Elementary Does. If you have the option to send them elsewhere I would do it. I attended Horizon k-6th grade and lived for 22 years of my life in Murray. I talked nothing but good things about the Murray School district but I really do not have anything nice to say about Horizon at the moment. Many people in the community will read my review and know exactly who I am and may disagree but I have talked to many parents and children in the 2nd grade class and they all say similar things. I hate review sites because most people use it to leave negative reviews and so I only used this as my last resort when I can't get anyone to respond or help fix the problems. What a joke.

This school has a 'zero tolerance' for bullying. YET, my granddaughter has been harassed/bullied/threatened/been called the 'N' word/by a boy in her 4th grade class. What does this school do? Move the victim to another class and the teacher told her to not tell on him to her anymore because it just gives the bully 'power'-Ignore it. And since I'm not the parent, the school won't acknowledge my concerns/complaints. It is unreal.

I would NOT suggest this school, or any other school in the Murray School District.
