Los Jarritos

We randomly stopped at the New Castle Farmers Market on a drive elsewhere and randomly happened upon Los Jarritos and thought it was some of the best authentic Mexican we’ve had on the east coast (don’t you love it when that happens?).

We split a burrito with pork and green sauce and a chicken tamal. The burrito was better than the tamal but we still thoroughly enjoyed both.

The pork in the burrito was exceptional - and the red and green hot sauces were an ideal complement.

Chips and salsa were also delicious - can’t tell if they were included or not but our total bill including a Mexican coke was less than $16.

Stopping at this flea market felt like a portal to another world for us out-of-towners, but we enjoyed the experience and would happily go back to Los Jarritos.

Service was great and so was the food. Portions were a great size. We'll definitely be back

They have two locations in the market - the large restaurant and on the other side a small 6 table taqueria. The small one does the most authentic al pastor tacos in Delaware using legit vertical rotisserie cookers! They have birria tacos too. Try the smaller location some time!

I come here every Sunday after church! The food is so good!! The staff is so nice! But that corn is to die for! The line be long sometimes but it’s worth the wait!! But you have to wait in line. They serve you quickly and you have to be patient.! I love it!!!

I'll keep coming back ... especially for the elote!

Excellent Mexican food at reasonable prices. Cozy atmosphere with a friendly staff and all the common Mexican dishes with delicious flavor with offerings to suit every palate.

Good food, service was great and prices are reasonable for the place it is at.

This is an amazing restaurant. My dad and I have come here for years. Not only do we receive great service but the food is always good and accurate. Portion sizes are also great for the price. If I could come here every day of the week I would.

My family and I can not get enough of this restaurant. We eat there every weekend. The prices are good and the food is out of this world. Get there early because of this food is hand made and goes very quickly. They also cater and the prices for catering are very good too. All our friends and family are now hooked on this place too!

If you are looking for any kind of spice or cooking items, they just may have it. The place is always well stocked and can always find what I need, and sometimes even things I had not thought of. Staff nice and helpful.

Really really muy bueno! We had quesadillas camerones which were excellent. Servers pleasant and muy rapido. Highly recommend.

The corn on the cob is amazing! We had steak tacos with our order today and they were just as good! Prices are on point, food is hot and scrumptious but yeah, try the corn!!

Omg this place was amazing!!! I love tacos and could honestly eat them everyday for every meal. I ordered the Birria tacos (only available Fridays&saturdays btw) along with an order of taquitos. Man i was in heaven!!!! I wish i took a picture before devouring my food. Authentic great Mexican food next time I come (there will definitely be a next time) I am going to deff try their corn om a cob with mayo cheese and chili. The taquitos came with some sour cream & guacamole (excellent & i don't usually like guac). Birria tacos were loaded with meat cheese & sides of cucumber onions & cilantro. Plus you know i had to have my hot sauce. Great service great food I will be telling everyone about this little gem at the new castle farmers market (right inside of entrance 6).

Tacos where great. The server even went and got us some Elote (mexican corn) from the nearby stand so we didn't have to wait in line after we were done. They also serve bottled Coca Cola products made with sugar cane instead of HFCS.

This is the only restaurant that I've found in the area, where they have a nice Mexican style breakfast meal choice. It makes me sad that I can only get it on the weekends but it's definitely worth the wait!

IF YOU LIKE MEXICAN FOOD THIS PLACE IS A MUST TRY. ORDERED TAKEOUT CAUSE THEY WERE PACKED,GREAT STUFFED PEPPERS AND FOUR BEEF TACOS.Happy faces and smiles from their servers.

The food is delicious! Great service. I'm a weekly patron have been for about a year!
