Engine House Pizza

Excellent, back last summer (2023) I was talking with the owner about how a lot of people put sugar in their sauce and then call it Italian, well we both agreed that is American, not Italian!!!
Plus we talked about how you have to cook the dough just right, the more the bet!!!
Great place with excellent people and employees, very inviting and friendly !!!!
I've dined there and have had take out!!!

Came here on a whim and was blown away. They don’t make places like this anymore. Great food, great atmosphere, perfect location.

Been around since 1979. A true treasure of Salem. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is incredible. The pizza is hand tossed with love. The FIRE CHIEF pizza has the perfect balance of pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, onion, sausage and so much more. It is so delicious. I totally recommend it. I bet you can’t eat just 2 slices. Beer on tap. The prices are great. Whatever you order, you will not be disappointed.

My family and I walked passed this establishment about 20 minutes after they closed. The owner saw us looking through the window and came out an offered us the left over slices for the night. If you’re into NY Style pizza this is the real deal. The crust is perfectly cooked. A nice crisp on the outside yet soft and flavorful on the inside. The bottom of the pizza was cooked to perfection as well. Everything about this pizza was excellent. Don’t miss out if you’re in town looking for a great slice! Can’t wait to go back during business hours for me.

We are here in town for the weekend and had the best experience. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Our pizza was delicious and huge! Don’t sleep on the mozzarella sticks either. They were delicious!

We come by anytime we're in Salem. Really awesome calzone with fluffy crispy dough, saves well too!! Sausage was really generous too and didn't feel gross after like you sometimes do with extra greasy sausage. Really appreciated their patience with us ordering when it was like 95 degrees out and someone in our group was having a heat induced panic attack with their mask on.

Calzones are very good, very large portions. Crust is perfectly cooked, no burning. Seasoned very well.

Pizza was amazing. And that's putting it lightly. Margarita had perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and other toppings. I have never eaten 5 slices in my life. By far one of the best Pizza's I've eaten. (Review was saved by the pizza)

Their house made sodas were perfect companions to the pizza.

Mozzarella sticks were a little bland, but the sauce was fine.

Area is a bit outdated, but it had a very nice "vibe" to it. One complaint about design is the bathroom. Men's bathroom is very dirty. Not sure if it's the same for the women's.

Pros: Great Pizza, Calzones, Soda, awesome smell, generous portions.
Cons: A little outdated and mozzarella sticks were ok.
I am happy to say I recommend Engine House Pizza!

I went in there with my grandsons,and the girl behind the counter was more than polite!
Her hospitality alone is why we will be back,she treated my grandsons like they were her own,she did a fantastic job,very nice girl!!

By getting two large pizzas to share among five of us , we were able to get three slices per person for just $6 each :) and it was really yummy , especially with the spices

I didnt review the last time I went .. which was also my first , back in October 2021... first off.. LOVE the old school feel and atmosphere, love the prices .. it hits the spot after walking around , and trying to walk off the booze, but if you're wanting a pitcher of beer as well, and a huge slices of pizza super cheap .. this is the place ! I'm visiting Salem again soon, and I'll be bringing my ma here .

Friendly staff on a Friday night. Felt safe dining inside with my partner (Aug 2021). We shared chicken fingers and a 10” pizza with a glass of beer and wine.

Came for the food, stuck around to chat in a booth with the din of music and sports in the background.

A restaurant has to be worth it's salt if it's across the street from a fire department, and Engine House was. We parked a ways away to see some of Salem on our way. The walk did not take too long. Though a little pricey, we ordered two small pizzas (Jake's BBQ and Margharita) along with jalapeno poppers, a beer, and a root beer. Hands down, this place has the best fried jalapeno poppers I've ever had. The pizza was also phenomenal. The service was great, too. All in all, a great experience.

Really good relaxed atmosphere. The guy who served us was genuine and funny. Most importantly, the pizza was tasty.

I come here every year… even before I saw Lords of Salem…. Staff is amazing…they do cut their menu during this time of year to save on wait times, but all your favorites are available!!!!!! Love this place

The chef delivered our food directly to our table and made us feel right at home. This pizza was SO GOOD !

If you are a local like me and lost all hope for this place, we'll think again the owner Scott has put it back on the map from the service to the quality and made it his own!!! Best pizza downtown and subs are always soft and fresh!!!

Came to Salem from Miami to visit and I must say the pizza here is AMAZING. My wife and I went back 3 times to eat here over the weekend. Great pizza wish I could take the restaurant home and leave it in my backyard.

Great place to eat and enjoy company awesome pizza and great chicken finger dinners. Always a plus to eat or order out at The Engine house
