The Brook Hospital - KMI

I was a patient, not remembering my stay but my name is Hunter Ingram.

This was a beautiful place to be at when I was initated in for help.
The room and hallway size is comfortable with two different TV rooms that gives you space. The nurses are in the center so help is never far away. The cafeteria is amazing and even have SODA!
The outside is beautiful and can smoke , but that's a negative coping skill so be careful. I didn't get my full treatment and idea of what to do after so I had to go to the Brook on Dupont and Central state again. But they all helped. Just know if you need help it may not happen in one go. Don't worry. It's life but this is a safe place and a home to call home. Groups were amazing too. Spiritual Recovery was amazing to me.

Joyce with KMI was the most wonderful, skilled, compassionate, and experienced therapist that I have ever met. She was instrumental in my daughter’s recovery. Thank you, Miss Joyce.

I took my daughter here and I'm so happy to say that Miss Joyce was the best person for her to be working with. She opened up to Miss Joyce when she hadn't been able to do this with anyone else. We couldn't have chosen a better place and a better person to be working with my daughter. After each meeting, my daughter was smiling and was more herself than I'd seen in a long time.
I would recommend The Brook and Ms. Joyce to anyone needing help with their child(ren).

Ms.Joyce made it to where I can be really honest with how I am feeling she gives me amazing feedback and is honest with me she allows me to speak my mind. She’s very nice and makes things fair but doesn’t hold back what she has to say which is amazing because it helps me know things I need to work on. She’s made a huge difference in my life and has helped me with advice on the problems I may have that I want to talk to my peers about. I’ve really enjoyed being in her class and the help she has gave me it’s made a big difference and has put my in a better direction in life!!!

This place was the beginning of a transformation toward my new life! It helped me get better physically and mentally which was the 1st steps of my process. The staff on my care team were always helpful and inspired me to keep moving forward ⏩ and I did! #gratitude

I recently attended the Brooke’s adolescent online counseling program with Ms. Joyce. She made me feel well respected and involved in my treatment she really helped me get on track with my sobriety! The work we've done in groups have improved many aspects of my life and has helped me and will continue to help me going forward.

The best person at the brook is Ms Chelsea because she was always there for me she is the best person in the universe and she loves me

Kennetha Malone is by far the best therapist I’ve ever had! I couldn’t recommend her enough. She listens very well, makes you feel super comfortable and truly does care about you. She’s amazing!

I’m so thankful my daughter was blessed to have Mrs. Joyce walk behind her through this journey. Mylee was angry and mad that she had to do this program, But Mylee’s opened up and didn’t the program with a great outlook.. Mrs.Joyce was able to open Mylee’s mind and eyes to see what herself and the other children were capable of . Mrs. Joyce is raw and real kinda-person 😁with her thought and words for the better.. She has done an amazing job with my Kido.. Mylee is outgoing and smiles a lot, she is looking at her future and we’re she wants to go in life. Mrs. Joyce will forever be in our hearts. It was so wonderful to work with her.. as a parent that has to walk in these foot steps with your child.. She made it so smooth.. I highly recommend this program. We loved Mrs Joyce.❤

I went here november 2022 and may 2023, i was in both the acute and rcu units and i have to say Mr.Anthony is by far the best tech i have come across. He’s very intelligent and respectful and he’s helped me in my hardest times there at the brook. i am thankful for him every day because without his guidance i may not be where i am today!

My son attended the Brooke’s adolescent online counseling program with Ms. Joyce. She is amazing! She has the respect of the youth in her care because she requires them to act respectfully and participate in the program. She also puts parents at ease by keeping us updated on his progress. He has continued to make good decisions since graduating from this program.

I can truly say that The Brook (adult unit) saved my life. From the first person I spoke with on the phone, to the last person I saw as I left a week later, every staff member was kind and caring, and the psychiatrist I spoke with everyday was absolutely wonderful. I learned a lot from the inpatient groups, and Outpatient has been just as helpful. The facility was clean, food was good, and I now have a totally different outlook on behavioral health. I will forever be grateful for my experience.

My son went through the IOP program there. We have nothing but good things to say about Ms.Joyce. She was direct with him and very caring. He definitely changed for the better by the end of the program. He trusts Ms. Joyce and we appreciate everything she has done for him and us.

One of my relatives was admin here . We found very good service here . Staff are very nice and friendly. Nurse jasmine was very nice she take care of her very nicely. Thank you all entire team .

Went through detox at DuPont and everyone was great and then came to the TL house at KMI. Al and all the workers there put in 110% effort toward you so that you can be set up for success in sobriety with doc and therapist meetings, a list of phone numbers and AA/NA meetings, and the opportunity to come back for morning meditation to start the day off right. Everyone on the campus is there for you to get better, and they’re not afraid to show you the truth even if it hurts, because they know it’s what you NEED even if it’s not what you WANT to hear -Mikey R.

My daughter is currently a patient there and I am beyond happy with the treatment she is receiving. I have struggled to get her help for months and have very bad experiences. It crazy that getting good quality help for mental illness is as hard as it's been . Everyone from the lady at the front desk to the techs to the therapist to the psychiatrist has been caring and understanding. If your child is suffering mentally and needs help please take them here. It's so hard as a parent to watch your child struggle and not be able to fix it. This place has lifted 1000 pounds of my shoulders and hopefully my daughter's as well I cant thank them enough!

My son was in the intensive outpatient program. He learned a lot, and it’s really helped him. Mrs Joyce was great, and always communicated with me. She really cared about my son. I would definitely recommend this program for people that need help, but they don’t need inpatient care.

Kennetha Malone is the absolute best therapist ! She helps you feel safe and heard, she has gone above and beyond for me.

The Brook KMI gave me a 2nd and 3rd chance to live a life that’s worth living. The techs, nurses, counselors, social service workers, kitchen staff, custodians, doctors, art/recreation therapists and administration ALL played an integral role in my recovery. The facility is clean, they serve good/hot meals, and did I mention that the staff actually gives a ....?!?! I look forward to giving back when my time comes to the Brook KMI. Love you all!

I never thought I would be in this position with my son. I am truly thankful for what the Brook outpatient has done to help him and our family! Joyce has been amazing throughout this whole process.
