My kids and I have a great time slowly drifting down the river! It took us 4.5 hours for the shortest trip because we were having so much fun exploring and watching the wild life. I will be back and next time I'll bring our fishing gear!

My boyfriend and I had a perfect fall day kayaking tour with Clyde's River Rec. Quality kayaks, easy no stress process and friendly staff. The 5.5 mile route is beautiful and very calm. Still a great workout.

Wonderful paddle trip and fantastic owners. Truly an amazing way to spend a fall afternoon in the NEK. My whole family and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Chris was so nice and helpful. We give it two thumbs way up!

Choose between kayak or canoe, and a 5 or 9 mile trip. Your vessel of choice is loaded up onto a van and you’ll be dropped off according to the distance chosen. I chose the 5 mile trip and it took about 3 hours to complete the journey. For two people it was about 50$, reasonably priced and a great way to spend the afternoon

About 5 miles of stunning river to explore. Absolutely quiet, easy meandering paddle down a picturesque clean river. Clyde was extremely helpful and super friendly and the whole experience was a 10/10.

Clyde river was awesome! Super friendly staff with great rates. They were able to deliver to lake Willoughby on short notice and allowed our dog to join in on the fun! Thank you again for that! We'll definitely be returning!

Three of us rented individual kayaks for around two hours here. Paddled upstream into Pensioner's Pond and back. Wonderful experience-- beautiful place, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. We booked boats online (no charge to reserve boats until the conclusion of your rental), and then ended up making multiple changes to details of our booking, all accommodated with no problem. Highly recommended. Next time we're in the area, we'll be back.

Chris offered a wonderful outdoor experience! His kindness, good humor, and knowledge combined to make a superb kayaking adventure. Included in the overall experience was learning about the history of his business, particularly his expertise on the Clyde River. The hot cups of coffee he served us after we got caught in a storm were exactly what we needed. We would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to get out on the water!

Was the most incredible experience honestly. Everyone was so nice and worked incredibly swiftly and maturely and made my friends and I feel so welcome. There’s also plenty of things that u wouldn’t expect that you might actually want when you’re kayaking like water guns and hats and sunglasses. Getting there and back is fairly simple aside from the fact that there are chances where you can get lost but it isn’t hard to find where you’re going. If they had some sort of signage that would make everything even better. Could not recommend this more for anyone that wants a great experience for a morning or afternoon activity in vermont!

rented a paddle board for a few weeks while staying on crystal lake in barton. the board was in great condition and they delivered and picked it up for us. wonderful customer service! will definitely rent from them again in the future.

Had a great time. Chris was awesome. He was very accommodating, and provided us with everything we needed. We brought our dogs, who also had a blast. This is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in the NEK of VT! Highly recommend this, it is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Absolutely perfect Family Day thanks to Clyde River Recreation! We had a fantastic time from the moment we pulled in and met the folks there. We were impressed with the quality and condition of their equipment, and how quick and easy they made everything. It was just a short van ride up river to where Chris put the canoes and kayak in for us, and then nearly four lovely hours of coasting on the current, paddling leisurely around bend after bend of this beautiful river all the while laughing and making awesome memories. This section of the river is easy to navigate and there are plenty of places to stop along the way for a break. Our Lab and Plott Hound had their best day ever alternately cruising in the canoes and exploring along the shore. Chris says not as many folks come out to paddle after Labor Day, and that's such a shame! You just can't imagine what you're missing. The river was peaceful and calm and the colors that are already beginning to pop add another level to the already stunning landscape along the river. Whether you're a local, a snowbird, a short term visitor to the NEK or just passing through, we highly recommend that you stop by Clyde River Recreation for a few hours that will be good for your soul.

Had a great time with my wife and teenage boys. We've never kayaked as a group before so we were a little apprehensive of how long it would take and what the difficulty level was going to be. All the staff were super nice and helpful. They had different distances they could drop us off from that would result in different lengths and times. They got us to the drop-off quickly and we had a great time with the 5.5 mile trip. Happy to report there was a gentle current and it was a nice balance of exercise along with some relaxing drifting.

My boyfriend and I visted from NJ/NY for the weekend. Clyde River Recreation was just what we needed to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Vermont, at an affordable price. We opted for the 5.5m paddle and completed the trip in a little less than 3 hours. The owner, Chris, and his crew were so nice and down to earth. Chris allowed us to paddle even though it meant possibly closing the shop up later than normal business hours, just so we could enjoy our little adventure. We definitely plan on visiting Clyde River Recreation when we return again.

This place is awesome. The owners are laid back and the experience was enjoyable. My granddaughters and niece rented three kayaks (one double) and spent a leisurely couple of hours on the water. As stated elsewhere, the river is an easy run with some shallow areas and a few rocks that are fairly easy to maneuver around and through. We tend to visit the area annually, and hope to return to Clyde River Recreation this year for another go-round. Highly recommend.

As always, Chris & his staff provide great service! The Clyde is beautiful and a peaceful paddle! Unfortunately, no more giant turtle, but saw several live turtles!
