Janssen's Market

It’s a great market. Incredible from scratch soup every day! But be mindful of when you shop here. Pay for what brings you in, and do not fall for the crazy prices for things on the shelf.

This boutique grocer is the only place in the state for hard to find imported cured meats and aged cheeses. I found poultry, produce and dairy reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

I know I have said this before but it bears repeating after today's "southern special"... chicken salad with fried oysters. The chicken salad was delicious but the fried oysters...beyond delicious! Hands down Janseen's fried oysters are the best I have ever tasted...and I have done a great deal of fried oyster "taste testing" up and down the state🤣

Great for pick ing up odds and ends, dowside is tends to be more expensive than regular groceriey stores.

This market is five stars all the way great assortment very friendly staff do you want a real deli sandwich they have deli sandwiches to go there are outstanding , This is where I go to buy my Scrub Daddy’s

Produce is consistently superior to other stores, better tasting and looking. The fish monger is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Disappointing today. I expected to find bagged shredded cabbage. None found.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Most every food I have ever bought from Jansens is delicious. The customer service is fantastic. The holiday foods I have ordered in advance are always well prepared, organized for easy pick up and contain precise directions on how to heat, prepare, and serve the food.
It truly deserves the honor of being chosen "the best grocery store in America".

Great shopping experience. The stock is amazing. The staff is awesome. I've stopped in twice in the past but only to pick up a specific item or two. This time was shopping with a full list of needs. Everyone was so pleasant to interact with. Keep up the superb experience.

I love Janssen's. It is a cute family-owned super market that even has a cafe (J's Cafe) next to it, which you can access from the inside. Janssen's is not your everyday grocery store, be prepared to spend a little extra money (keep in mind it is in Greenville, nothing is really inexpensive in Greenville 😉). However, they're fruit and vegetables are always fresh, they have a lot to organic and rare brands that are difficult to find. What I find to be the best about this store though, is the fact that once you get your groceries you could either grab an entire meal at the hot or cold bars, or you can order from J's and sit down at the cafe or outside and enjoy the coziness of it all.

Wonderful produce selection. Plenty of prepared foods to choose from and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

They have beautiful produce upon entering the store, a terrific selection of sauces and dressings. Their prepared foods are delicious. A very high end grocery store.

I love this place! Great quality food! If you go out back and look through the dumpster sometimes you can even find a loaded handgun!

OK, this is not the place for stocking up on everyday essentials, but if you're looking for tasty homemade bernaise sauce, decadent Shore Boys cream of crab soup, loads of gourmet "heat and eat" entrees, smoked meats, imported cheeses, etc., Janssen's is your one-stop market. Big plus is the ability to set-up an account so you can just pay your bill monthly.

Not only is it a great store that is fun to visit, but their Florists did an excellent job on the beautiful centerpieces they prepared for my daughter's bridal shower. Thank you, Stephanie and the staff at Janssen's Market Floral Department for doing a terrific job.

I'm so pleased to see Janssen's still in business. I had the pleasure of working with Joe Jr in 1973/1974 in the produce section. His father Joe SR even offered me a summer job in Hollywood FL at the families seafood store. Working for the Janssens I learned lessons on quality , customer service, housekeeping and to always do right by the customer. Its obvious these traits continued as Janssen's has continued to prosper for many years. As my career starts to wind down I cant thank the Janssen family enough for those lessons that have carried me thru the years. The best in class, quality and service is the Janssen way. This is a tremendous specialty market with outstanding prepared food. Made to order sandwiches are delicious too. Expect to pay a premium price for this high quality.

Love this store. Close, convenient, great produce, hot bar, soups, meats, and the frozen chicken pot pie is A1!
