Somsiri Thai

Ok look, I have passed this place up so many times because it looks run down, and kinda ghetto. This place is the perfect example of never judge a book buy it's cover. I tried something called mama jungle noodle, and my girlfriend had the pad Thai both were amazing. Not only was the food out standing but portions were huge! We both ate our fill, and had enough to take home for left overs. AND our total bill was under $25.00. This is definitely a must try and will be getting my business for all my Thai food needs.

I ordered Showering Rama with chicken and rice, and wonton soup. They were both fantastic! The food was ready right on time, and each item went beyond my expectations. The wonton soup was loaded, it even had big juicy shrimp, I dipped them in the spicy peanut sauce and it was amazing.

Very good Thai food, and cute restaurant atmosphere. Small and cozy! I ordered basil fried rice which was amazing, and a Panama curry to go. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the chicken in both my dishes was way better than most Thai places for some reason. I would say that the dishes were slightly less spicy than an average Thai scale, and I would (maybe) order an extra star next time I’m there.

Seafood salad, garlic garlic all delicious. Thai tea, coconut prawns, pot stickers and more.

We stopped at the restaurant by chance and I was hesitant to go in at first. I am glad we did. What a pleasant surprise! The food is really delicious, authentic Thai. The waitress is from Thailand and very courteous. We ordered Tom Kha soup, Basket of the Sea and Pineapple Curry. Every dish tastes great and everyone loves it. We would definitely go back!

Out of the good places to eat in Shelton (and that not being many), this is by far the best. The food is always on point with flavors being bright and fresh, you can tell the ingredients were prepared that morning. The customer service is the some of if not the best I've ever experienced. The hostess is always kind, and very on top of taking care of customers sitting at tables. The food never takes long to come out, with single lunches taking just about 5 minutes from ordering to leaving. All in all, I will continue to try and come here weekly as it's my favorite location to grab a bite in Shelton.

So glad we came here for my birthday dinner! We had garlic fried rice with shrimp, tofu pad thai and sweet and sour chicken with pineapple. Quality was outstanding! Server was fast and very attentive. We will be coming back.

A gem. We ordered some curry and a few appetizers. So tasty that we had to order a Phad Thai to-go just for fun!

My favorite favorite favorite dish of all time from ANY Thai restaurant is the yellow spice! I love it!! It is the only thing I get and I get it with shrimp and chicken and it is absolutely delicious!!!! Somsiri is great, I’ve had plenty of their dishes and they were all really really good!

Really really good Thai food. Fair price, excellent service. Somsiri defines ‘local’. It’s a casual, downtown hole in the wall lunch spot.

I felt like I was back in Thailand enjoying my evening meal. The soup is great and the curries are out of this world. We love this place and will always come here for our meals out. service is great and very friendly. Guess I don't need to return to Thailand only come to Shelton

Holy Smokes! I am a foodie and I have to say, this door is legit! I describe the Panang curry as "dreamy". The Pho is so fragrant and full of flavor. The chefs know thier spices! The portions are very generous. I'm so obsessed. I have to put it in my food budget so I can go weekly!

Out of this world peanut sauce, served warm with crushed peanuts, its so delicious! The portion of pad thai is pretty big!! Careful with the spice level they don't mess around, great for us because we love spicy food. Hours are a little strange but so are all other businesses during the pandemic.

I greatly enjoy their food! And they're so friendly and appreciative each time I've gone there. I try something new almost every time I've gone there, and haven't been disappointed yet!

Amazing food every time! We showed up late, 30 minutes before closing. They were closing early, since it was a slow night. They welcomed us in with open arms and most friendly customer service. Can not say enough good things about the food and the people!

While every other restaurant in Shelton was full, we discovered this gem in downtown with plenty of room. The food we ordered was excellent and served promptly and graciously! Will definitely return next time we go to Shelton.

The pineapple rice is amazing but includes alot of extras like raisins and cashews which somehow still end up tasting fabulous . Small spot so be prepared to wait or vacate depending on seating. Love this place.
