Today was the first time I tried Swamp Cafe, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The chicken and shrimp Po-boys were full of flavor and the portion size was substantial. I will definitely be returning to this establishment with my family. I must also mention the beignets for dessert, as it was both sweet and savory.

Swamp Cafe delivered an exceptional dining experience during our office Mardi Gras party, catering to a group of 40 with finesse. The food surpassed expectations, boasting flavors that were nothing short of amazing. The owner's accommodating and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our event, enhancing the overall atmosphere. Moreover, the pricing was incredibly reasonable, making it an outstanding value for the quality provided. Without a doubt, the Swamp Cafe earns a resounding "chef's kiss" for its outstanding service, delicious cuisine, and unbeatable affordability. Highly recommended for any occasion.

Looking for some catfish and came across this gem! If you haven't been here yet, make sure you stop by! We had the shrimp etuoffe, seafood gumbo, chicken gumbo, fried oysters, shrimp, catfish, and beignets. The service is friendly, hospitable and family oriented. Thank you for the delicious food!

As we first walked in, the groovy background lofi instantly took us to the streets of New Orleans. Next, Chef David greeted us warmly and waited patiently as we decided on what to order.

I got the chicken gumbo, fries, and beignets. I highly recommend all 3 of these items. The gumbo was perfectly seasoned and had a nice consistency. The fries were perfectly crisp and the sauce was a unique combination of both hot sauce and ketchup. Finally, the beignets were perfectly sweet, and the perfect ending to a supremely memorable outing. Thank you Chef David!

Stopped in on a chance and were pleasantly surprised. My wife had seafood gumbo, Caesar salad and I had a very authentic fried catfish basket. Authentic and welcoming. The owner, David is also the chef. Highly recommend.

Couldn't decide on shrimp or oyster poboy, so added both!! Over stuffed goodness and the gumbo was so tasty and not skimping on the seafood. Happy to support this kind local business. Ate to much but laughed off the calories with the owner David. 🤣

The owner, David is a very nice guy and he is very passionate about his food. My husband and I had the sampler platter with the seafood gumbo and the beignets. The food was very flavorful and tasty. We will definitely come back!

All I can say is WOW 5🌟’s!!! I am so glad we tried it! We ordered the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwiches (great portions) I couldn’t finish my sandwich so I gave the rest to my Husband who gladly ate it! We had Seafood Gumbo & Beignets (my first time having Beignets) It was all so Delicious!!! The Seafood Gumbo is ON POINT, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! It is just the right amount of spice, but not too spicy, it was perfect for us!!!
This place was So Delicious that we had to go back the next day & get more! 😍 We are looking forward to going back each time so we can try everything on their menu! 😁 We told our family to try this place ASAP, you should as well… you won’t regret it! 🤩💖

Great food. The owner and chef was super friendly. Service was good and the best part is its halal. I miss being able to eat Cajun food since most has pork but all the food is halal here so enjoy. I think we ordered like three plates each just to try it out and all was delicious.

First time here. I got the Shrimp Basket and really enjoyed it. The Beignets were also very good and we got those for free :-). Definitely want to come back and try more things

Real deal Cajun food. Had the seafood gumbo and the shrimp étouffée. Washed down with some good chicory coffee. Place is pretty simple but reminds me of little hole in the wall in New Orleans. Definitely going back again.

Eating here is an absolute pleasure. I came with friends, and we had the shrimp etouffee, seafood combo basket, fried chicken basket, and the beignets. The portions were huge and filling, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. The shrimp etouffee was rich, well spiced, and generous with the shrimp; the fried baskets were fresh and not greasy; and the beignets were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can really tell that the awesome chef/owner has spent almost half of his life in New Orleans from how it tastes. It's really properly home cooked food, and was well worth the drive from UTD. I highly recommend anyone looking for proper authentic Cajun food go here.

I had the fried shrimp, jambalaya, and the beignets. All the three were great and had lots of flavor. The jambalaya was my favorite. It being halal is a plus.

Amazing! Haven't had real beignets in Dallas since the 80s. These are actually better because the honey is more like icing than plain honey. Best shrimp po boy I've had and the gumbo was so good! Go get you some and thank me afterward 😁

My daughter and I had a nice chat with the owner during our dinner. The food was delicious and the ingredients were top notch! This little gem is well worth the drive if you don't live in the area. This will be my new go-to for cajun flavor.

Oh how I have waited for a legit Cajun style restaurant in Dfw. This restaurant is it, no other Cajun restaurants come close. The food is good, service is fast, price is good, and it tastes authentic, like something from the French quarter. Definitely give it a try!!!

I can’t believe I’m just discovering this place!! Been wanting to try cajun food for soo long but it’s so hard to find halal.

Also, had the sweetest, nicest talk with the chef/owner himself. He lived in New Orleans for almost 30 years so he knows cajun food well and you can tell by the food he makes!! He told me everything is 100% halal and even showed me where he buys the meat and everything.

Def coming back and I 1000% recommend it to anyone.

Little mom & pop gem in the DFW area. If you are looking for your Louisiana fix, check this place out! We got Iced Café au Lait and beignets. Owner was friendly. Atmosphere was great. And the overall experience is fantastic. Check it out!
