Not a beer drinker, but their food is amazing!!! The pizza is so good, and the homemade pretzels, too! The new location is really neat and I love that they’ve added a few more alcohol options for us non beer drinkers. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, great food. Don’t miss it!

In the middle of nowhere, but they have deliciously unique pizza, freshly brewed beer, and friendly staff! The buffalo chicken and gyro pizzas were really good. Margarita and broccoli were great vegetarian choices. The pretzels were a must for appetizers and you have to end with a root beer float; they make they own root beer as well. If you’re looking for a cozy place, this is a great choice!

Good service and good quality beer. Cannot wait to go back and try their food menu and see what that has to offer. While enjoying the beer, I was able to watch the employee make the pizza and flip the dough in the air which was pretty awesome to see that they make their dough and pizza from scratch!

So we ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer, and ordered a pizza. Not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical when he came out with our appetizer as a green liquid in a bowl, but the spinach artichoke dip was quite good, and to serve it with pretzels was a nice twist. We got the chef's choice pizza, and the combination of toppings that the chef chose was perfect. Of course they have great beer, and a good selection to choose from.

The new locations in both Sycamore and DeKalb are wonderful. Great selection beer new foods and wine. Come soon and come often

Love this place. The food was very good and the beer was outstanding coal dust IPA was incredible it looks like a stout but it tastes like an IPA.

I went here when it first opened at the other sycamore location. I wasn't impressed then, I did flights and they all tasted like grapefruit at the time. Years went by, went to the downtown location last week. I did flights, I had pizza, let me tell u they have perfected their craft! The beer was amazing! And the pizza was good. The cheese sauce I had with my pretzels though was really good, wasn't expecting that. I'm glad I gave it a second chance!

The smoked perch spread is excellent. Well seasoned and smooth. The Greek and Jersey White pizzas are well made with a wonderful thin crust. The 2 to 3 person per pizza serving suggestion is accurate. My colleagues enjoyed the beer selection. The staff is very endearing and kind. We had a wonderful time. The ambience is very welcoming. I highly recommend this if you are new to the area.

I really loved this place. The pizza is really good. We got the chef's special which allows the chef to create whatever they feel like at the time. It was delicious. They do allow you to request the omission of ingredients you don't like and choose with our without meat. The beers we tried were good solid beers that went perfectly with the pizza.

If I am willing to write a "less than awesome" review about a restaurant, it's only fair that a great experience receive a review as well. Nearly 4 years ago we had a bad customer service experience and we said so. The owner was VERY quick to respond and we talked it through. For a variety of reasons though, we simply hadn't gone back to The Forge very much once they moved into their new space in downtown Sycamore. After our meal (and beers :) ) last night, I'm sure we will return more frequently. Simply put, the service, the quality of the food and some new beers (along with a couple of old time favorites) was outstanding. We did not have a reservation, so we ate at the bar as the place was busy (which is REALLY good to see!). The bartender (sorry, I can't remember his name) was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the owner's took a couple of minutes to swing by and talk as well. Very nice. Thank you for a very nice evening.

Limited food menu, but the pizza is creative and good. A decent beer menu, plus a couple cocktails. Their homemade rootbeer is my favorite! It's a good atmosphere and the waitstaff is usually friendly and attentive. We always have a good time there.

Ryan's root beer. *swoon* Absolutely delicious. I am not a big drinker, so I love that I can go out with my husband to a brewery that has something unique and tasty for the designated drivers or anyone who doesn't drink. The pizza is delicious. Different from your typical Chicago area pizza, but very good. My husband loves the beer. The prices are very reasonable as well.

Delicious pizza (I’d recommend the weekly special) and great beer selection. I got the $5 pint glass to take home. Plentiful outdoor seating as well. Responsive, quick and friendly waitstaff as well

I recently visited and tried a couple of beers and the pizza. I was impressed by both. While the beer selection is small, the craft beers that I tried were very good. I also tried the pizza special. The combination of toppings was out of the ordinary, but the flavors were great. I will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent wood-fired pizza and craft brews to please any palate. Fresh beer pretzels and a delicious "mozarella stacker" among the appetizers on the menu. A homemade root beer that is robust. Growler and howler (64 & 32oz) take away beverages are an outstanding value and convenience if you're local. During the first half of the pandemic year, one of three local places my wife and I would go - and if they served breakfast, it would have been the only place.

Love wood fired pizza! They do it right with nice, crisp, edges and some fine toppings. The beer selection is really quite good. And, don't skip the appetizers, they have some unique offerings that are worth trying. The sliders are good according to my family but I go for the poppers.

Even though we had a large group, at a busy time, they seated us almost immediately. They accommodated the whims of each person and no one left the table hungry.
They have a great assortment of appetizers that range from about $5 to $8 and, when you ask for extra cheese on your pizza, you get EXTRA CHEESE! Their beverage menu ranges from a simple cup of coffee to craft beer with a little of everything in between.

Very good pizza margarita. Very good selection of porters and stout beers. Was there during Sycamore Cocoa crawl. The staff was overwhelmed but managed the unexpected crowd the best they could. I'm sure the service would be great on a regular night.

Love the pizza's there no matter which one we order. Really good beer too, they have a few knew ones every so often.
The bar area needs to dim the lights, hard on the blue eyed people.
