I Love this branch everyone is friendly. They are efficient and let you know when CD rates are higher to invest in them. They give you the online app to lock your account. My other bank doesn't do this. This Bank gives you more services then others.

I don't know why some of these comments are negative, most likely they were a problem customer. The bankers are incredibly kind and helpful with deposits, transactions, and any questions we may have.

Went through the drive through to conduct a simple withdrawal. I was given $50 bills along with $20 bills. Why $50 bills? Plus the walk-up doesn't open till 10:00am.

On August 1st, 2020, so many people, most in cars, a couple on foot, another on a bicycle, all waiting for drive up. The bank does not offer indoor teller services on Saturday, even if it’s the first of the month. The first day of the month, probably one of the busiest consumer days of the month, for a bank. I feel this to be the wrong approach. Maybe, consideration for the customer. Thank you for the time to consider a change of service policy.

Difficult to find a functioning ATM, online banking doesn't load more often than it does. I tried closing the account and they did not honor the check to the new bank, which would have left me with $3 that I was told would be mailed to me. Instead, the $3 disappeared and the check was not honored, thus NOT closing the account. More stress and time spent than any customer service provided.

I am shown by name along with my mother on Citibank checks. My mother set this up in 1986 after my father died to make sure that I had access to her CitiBank checking account to pay her bills if she became incapacitated. I am also the trustee on my mom's estate and her sole survivor. So, what happened??

* My mom died in July 2023. Bills continued past her death, and I paid them with her checks by signing my name.
*USPS was not forwarding her statements to me, so I went to the Crystal Lake branch to get a transaction record. I gave them my ID, the trust documents, and her debit card.
* I was told that because I'm not a "signatory" on the account, I cannot write checks to pay her estate's bills.
* I was told that I cannot use my mom's debit card (even though I made estate deposits).
* After consulting with Citibank's national office, the local branch banker said that he could print out the transaction statements that I wanted.

Fast forward three weeks and I'm trying to deposit checks (under $500 each) at a Citibank ATM, but mom's card is refused. I go into the local Citibank branch, and they tell me that mom's checking account is "frozen" and the debit card is cancelled. NO NOTICE FROM CITIBANK WAS EVER RECEIVED!

All this after Citibank (who set up the checks with my name on them in 1986) failed to add me a as "signatory."

Worst bank ever. I wish I could give it 0 stars and I don’t even have an account with you guys. My partner constantly gets fraudulent charges at least 2 times a month . Recently he’s been getting charges from other states and when he tried to call customer support they tell him he could be prosecuted for lying even though it’s been months of this same reoccurring issue that he’s been trying to resolve. He has to lock and unlock his card every time he wants to use it because if not he keeps getting charges. They lock his account completely for days even weeks sometimes. Worst bank ever he will be switching and I hope nobody ever tried to set up an account with citi. Absolutely disgusting customer service they simply do not care.

I spent 3 hours in the branch and 5 hours additionally on the phone with citi, with many "dropped" calls to handle a glitch in their system that made 8 payments to a citi credit card that was linked. There is no way the app or online banking would allow me to set this up. They would not do a stop payment since it was an internal problem. The staff had an attitude and would do nothing to help but dial a phone so i could deal with it. I will have to wait several days, right before Christmas, for them to figure it out and credit my account. This is corporate theft and wrong. Citi sucks to deal with. This is not the first time something like this has happened either.

I called Citibank customer service and asked if my mothers who is 88 years old and has severe pain no longer drives I asked him if a temporary state ID would be acceptable to change your pin number after speaking to customer service they said yes as long as it has her photo on it. It did have her photo on it. She had her birth certificate marriage certificate Social Security card other credit cards and other photo IDs. After taking a good eight minutes to walk in the door and get to the teller we were told it was unacceptable. I am I can honestly say that the stoic expression less teller could care less! My deceased Dad always called this bank SHI**Y Bank I now agree!

I opened an account online and came in to close my account at this location. They were ZERO help. DO NOT BANK with CITIBANK. This bank has a BAD habit of freezing people accounts when using a mail forwarding address as your home address, especially when you are traveling. I went to see them face to face, to close my account and they wouldn't let me! DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK AND I RECOMMEND YOU BANK AT A CREDIT UNION. It took me more than 6 months to close my account and I had to get the OCC involved.

Worst location Citi has ever built!
Their customer service is so bad. Always short staff.
Went today to notarize a paper ( takes only 2 minutes cuz I’ve done it before), there were 2 notaries, one of them his license is expired, the other was talking with a customer about everything But business for 40 minutes!!!!
Then came an old man after me who has an appointments and he had to wait more to notarize.
When I asked when I’ll be able to see someone, they were very rude to say:” we don’t know!!! Come back again MAYBE we will have time…!!!”
Seriously, Citi bank pull ur stuff and staff together!!!
Horrible as always but I’m obligated to deal with it and it’s sad!!!
I’m thinking about switching to BOA

Citibank as a whole seems to be one of the worst banks I've ever been to. The Crystal Lake, IL takes takes 30 minutes to cash a check written from their own bank. When asked why it takes so long and why they have to call people, they said they don't have access to all Citibanks, what? Why not? And the other thing is everytime I come here, once a week, the drive-thru is always closed. In times of COVID and minimizing contact with people, they always have the one thing that achieves that, closed. What? Huh? WTH?

I wait 20 minutes for the banker and his boss is on the phone and he has no time to serve me. sends me to a busy banker. I guess some people forget what they come to work for. I do not recommend this place.
