The share the music program helps make instrument rentals to those in need affordable. The employees there are so friendly and helpful. Everytime we go there the customer service is great which is even more impressive since these days I can't say the same about very many other places. A few weeks ago Jake went above and beyond to set up a time to replace my sons viola string. Then when we brought it in he was so thorough and made sure the string was in tune. He also carefully made some sort of adjustment to the instrument itself. You can tell he really cared about doing the job right, which again these days is rare.

The Music Shoppe staff is always friendly and willing to help you find what you need. Today I brought in my bass clarinet that appeared to have a sticking key that I couldn’t identify. Mary Ann, another friendly, helpful person called the repair tech Courtney forward to identify the problem. Courtney located the problem in about 2 seconds, took the instrument to the back, and had the problem resolved in less than 5 minutes. She is so knowledgeable, and amazed me with her efficiency in identifying and fixing the problem! Kudos Courtney! This is awesome service!

My daughter dropped her violin during a Saturday concert and it literally looked like it exploded. I was mentally making financial arrangements in my head for purchasing a replacement violin when I took it into the Music Shoppe that day for an estimate on a repair. They were kind enough to give us a loaner violin in the meantime so that my daughter could participate in her Monday orchestra class.

Obviously with this being a Saturday, I wasn’t expecting any updates until perhaps Monday.

Sunday morning, the next day, I receive a text from Jacob at the Music Shoppe telling me that the repair is done and it will be $5. I honestly thought it was a mixup because there was no way that the violin that I dropped off the evening before could 1) be fixed that quickly (I thought it probably couldn't be fixed at all) and 2), even if it could be fixed, how could it be $5?! Even if the part is only $5…what about labor?!

But there was no mixup—Jacob said we could come in that morning or whenever convenient for us, and he really did only charge us $5.

So within 24 hours, I went from thinking that we’d be having to purchase a new violin, or in the best case scenario a very extensive and costly repair, and my daughter not having her own violin for class for a while—to having her own violin completely repaired, good as new, for $5, over a weekend, and back to orchestra class Monday morning without missing a beat.

I can never express how impressed I was with Jacob the MVP and how much I appreciate him. My second child is starting his band/orchestra journey this month, and I’m so grateful to have the Music Shoppe to take us through!

The professionals at The Music Shoppe in Normal, IL did an incredible job fixing my alto after a nasty fall. They saw me right away, repaired the dented Eb key guard, sealed up residual leaks, and got my alto back into pristine performance shape within 15 minutes. I was able to perform a concert that evening featuring some extremely finicky chamber repertoire as part of ISU's Red Note Festival. In addition to the great work and immediate attention, these folks were friendly, welcoming, and able to switch gears immediately to attend to this issue within their greater workflow. As a traveling musician, it's not always easy to find the right folks for the job while on-the-road. The instrument repair professionals at the Music Shoppe in Normal, IL are an example of how to do things right. They keep musicians going!

I called to inquire about how many payments we had left on my daughter's instrument, thinking about paying it off early. I talked to a very nice lady about my rental contract and the benefits of the insurance that comes with it. We decided to keep making payments to keep the insurance. (clumsy jr. high student :) I am so happy we did because her flute was damaged at the holiday concert. Thanks again, you saved me a bundle!

The absolute best experience I've ever had working with a music store. I've been a musician for over 45 years, my only regret is that they don't have a shop in South Florida LOL because I would be a steady customer. I can't say enough good things about this business.

Fantastic experience! My kiddo was ready for a step-up instrument and of course we came here! This certainly is our musical home and love the wonderful customer service. Abby was so helpful and put us in a room. She told us a little about the instruments and then left us alone so my kiddo could explore each one on her own. We had a variety of choices and Abby checked in with us to see about questions. It was a great experience for us both! I highly recommend this professional music shop!

Excellent services and supplies for a guitar player. The employees are extremely friendly. Tony does a great job as a guitar tech and luthier. Erik Swanson is an amazing guitar teacher. I'm sure the other teachers are great, I just don't have experience with them. Their electric guitars are mainly beginner grade, but it's so nice to have a place like this in town.

The Music Shoppe always has great service! Quick on repairs or offer loaner horns. Very knowledgeable. Been going there for over 40 years. Would definitely recommend them.

Very fast service I texted I needed Maple Leaf Rag and they sent me a text back really quickly with information regarding the piece of sheet music I wanted and even asked my address and within 30 minutes the transaction was finished and tomorrow the delivery should be heading my way! Also the sheet music here isn’t pricey at all quite affordable.

My family loves the music shoppe! I have a 13 yr old daughter that plays multiple instruments. So we are in contact with them regularly. They are always so friendly and makes the process easy as can be wether it is buying a instrument or just little accessories. Sales associate Todd C. is very knowledgeable, customer service oriented who took the time to ensure my son had everything for his drum set we had purchased at a pawn shop earlier that day. He explained the differences between the cymbal stands, foot pedals & the throne (seat) you sit on. They were out of drummer's gloves, but ensured he would call me when they came in the following Tuesday (5/31). The Music Shoppe was running a monthly special on drum sets & accessories. As promised, Todd called & let me know the gloves came in on Tuesday & I still got the special promotional price on them. I highly recommend this place for all your music needs.
