Cafe 20

We stopped to celebrate Valentine's Day one day early. The inside was nicely decorated for Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras. They a really good Rum Punch. I had the Broasted Chicken with side salad and baked potatoes. My wife had the Turkey Club Sandwich. All were very good. Our waitress was friendly and made the very good rum punch!

Fish fry was great. I preferred the cod but the walleye was great too. Best home made, I think, tartar sauce for dipping. Coleslaw was a slight disappointment but edible. Staff was friendly and attentive. I sat by the bar and meet some fellow patrons.

Great find! Wood fired pizza oven. Tried a pesto shrimp pizza that was wonderful. Extensive menu, friendly chill vibe. They made a plain hamburger for our pup- he recommends this place too!

This is the second time I've been here and all I can say is this place is AMAZING! They made me feel like home from the second I walked in. I wish I lived closer or I would be a regular. I had pulled pork with cheese ravioli and it was delicious! The best part was surprisingly the bread stick that was better than Olive Garden!!! Waitress was a very very nice and accommodating woman!

Food was great. Try the pretzel and fries. Fish we also awesome as was the beer selection. When we came in the manager asked where we were from and we said we were staying at the KOA. Later he came by and asked if we brought the coupon from the KOA, and even though we forgot it, he honored it.

Great food and service and the price wasn't bad. 3 adult entrees, 2 appetizers , 2 kids meals, and a beer totaled about $60.

Oh and the kids menu is inside kids books which my kids read while waiting. Great idea!

My fav is the fried pickles!! Tried the caprese appetizer and the bruchetta also. My son had the pretzel. It's far from home but won't pass up the chance to go if I am within 50 miles lol

Couldn’t recommend Cafe 20 enough, stopped by on a whim while driving to Rockford from Chicago. We had the pretzel, ravioli, and fish fry; it’s hard for a restaurant to be good at multiple different types of food but they knocked it out of the park.

Service was super friendly too, and the drinks were affordable as well. If I’m ever passing by again I’ll definitely stop, this is probably the best small town restaurant I’ve ever tried.

Love this place. We have been here several times and everything we have tried has been delicious!! Staff is friendly and attentive. It has consistently been a great experience. Look forward to being back in Marengo so we can go again!

Wife and I stopped for lunch. There were outside diners, but we opted for indoor. Server, Sandy, was fantastic. Great personality, took our order and was prompt in checking on us. Tried cheese curds which were very good, and homemade ranch dressing. Wife had pork chop sandwich with side salad (upcharge). Both were huge. I had pork tenderloin schnitzel sandwich. Both were awesome. Cooked perfectly, and plentiful. The chef (in my opinion because of her talents, creates, not just prepares) made a sauce for schnitzel that was delicious. A lot of homemade items that are taken for granted were such as sauces, dressings.
Great conversation with our server made our lunch more personal rather than just lunch!
Will definitely return.

Ordered take out last night for dinner. I just moved to the area recently, and this was my first time here. My boyfriend is a local and has been here several times, he recommended their pasta. I ordered the Creamy Chicken Pesto Pasta and my boyfriend ordered the Cajun Chicken and Sausage. Mine was sooooo good! I wish I had taken a picture. I tried his and it was decent, but I don’t prefer a red sauce. However, he really enjoyed it and also ate both of our side salads. This was a lot of food and I’ll definitely be having the rest for lunch tomorrow. I was only there for about 5 minutes to pick it up, but I loved the atmosphere. Very small, but cozy vibes. Bartender was very friendly, but I can’t remember her name! 10/10 recommend, we will probably be back next week to dine in.

Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was fast and very attentive. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin Schnitzel Sandwich. It was very flavorful and the special sauce made it a very delicious lunch, along with the side of potato salad. I like going to a location and everything is exactly what you wanted.

The all you can eat on Friday’s Fish Fry is a steal of a deal! DELISH!!!!

Had a nice family dinner Friday night. Although the place was very busy and we had a large party, the servers were attentive and enthusiastic. Most of us had the walleye or cod fish fry and enjoyed our meals, sides, and salads.

I'm not sure if they are still in the middle of a restoration/decor uplift. The unfinished floor in the dining area definitely needs attention.

The place still brings back YumYum drive in memories.

THE PIZZA! Oh my word! It is SO GOOD! I am surrounded by pizza snobs and everyone is happy when I bring home Cafe 20 pizza! Such creative and unique options that cater to every palette! Even the grandkids love more than cheese when it’s Cafe 20 pizza!

Fast friendly service. Excellent food with large portions. I had a bowl of vegetable beef soup and house salad. My sister had the Tenderloin with potato salad and a cup of the vegetable beef soup.

2/25/23 if you want delicious homemade hot dinner this is the place! Quaint, excellent friendly staff, and the food is truly outstanding and my husband is a picky eater. Ordered ribs, fell off the bone, had salmon grilled to perfection w/ baked potatoes, fresh salad and homemade fish chowder soup… outstanding! We will be back again as this was our second visit.. we were not disappointed! Kudos to the chef and wait staff. If you go… enjoy and cheers!

Great big portions. Had the double burger and my friend had perch. Both were excellent! The waitress was very friendly.

This is an all time favorite, amazing menu with grate flavor good staff!!

Was looking for something good for Friday night dinner and definitely made the right choice. Got AYCE fish fry and the kid got meat raviolis. Both excellent. For the fish fry you can get both Walleye & Cod; you don’t have to choose which is great. The fish was moist and the batter taste amazing. Baked potato was perfectly cooked not burnt on the bottom and undercooked in the middle. The ravioli was excellent as well. The side salad was a good size with fresh toppings. Highly recommend to check this place out if your in the area or looking for a new place to eat at or try, you won’t be disappointed.
