Kobe Japanese Steak House

I spent 2 years trying different ramen and could not find a place I enjoyed. I thought maybe I just didn’t like ramen. Shortly after I moved, I tried the spicy miso ramen from Kobe. I realized I actually love ramen and I needed the right restaurant. The broth isn’t too spicy, very enjoyable. The egg was cooked perfectly and the meat was slightly sweet. The vegetables seemed fresh. A very pleasing dish, so warm and comforting. I will go back.

Came for sushi and the Hibachi was amazing. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Some of the best sushi in town. The hibachi grill is a fantastic experience, perfect for a celebration or family dinner. The chefs are so talented and make it a lot of fun.

I love coming here for their lunch bento box and their ramen. I'm keen on the spicy miso ramen, and the tonkotsu ramen 🍜 two people can make it out of there with a drink, an appetizer, and a main for each for about $60. Solid hibachi restaurant.

Went to Kobe for wife’s birthday. Split the miso ramen as a appetizer and split the love boat. Ramen was good. Love boat was absolutely amazing. My favorite has always been salmon but the yellow fin they had was so good, it might be my new favorite.

Pleasantly surprised by Kobe! Being gluten free I avoid Asian cuisine because of the soy sauce but they had gluten free options for chicken fried rice and Chicken Hibachi! I got the chicken fried rice and it was really good! The staff were great! I’d love to come back next time I visit Bloomington!

Post covid it was nice to return to the Kobe Japanese Steak House experience. The kids loved it. The chefs were entertaining. And the first time my wife from England had been to one. She wants to go back now! Good times for sure at Kobe.

The takeout sushi and bento box always hits! Underrated for solid sushi rolls for a good price. The teriyaki chicken was delicious also!

I have been here twice already. I go to Bloomington for work around once a week. On one of those days decided to go to Japanese place craving for sushi. Ended with bento box and appetizers I could not even eat at one time. I used to live in San Francisco with all of it's amazing restaurants and very developed Asian culture. Was kind of sceptic what kind of Japanese food is going to be cooked for me in the middle of Illinois. I was surprised in a good way. Crab wontons we're crispy and creamy, miracle salad dressing (mayonnaise, carrot, ginger and ... something else) turned regular salad leaves into delicious dish. Beef was medium fried and juicy. Rice wrap on my sushi was very thin and I could clearly feel avocado taste. Liked this place. It is not fancy, pretty affordable, good restaurant to go with your friends for grilled seafood. Will be coming back.

We had an amazing time. Cook kept us entertained. Waitress was so nice. Definitely looking forward to attending again.

I had so much fun eating here. We got the head chef and he was absolutely amazing!
Also, if it is your birthday, the whole crew sings you and people at the restaurant will clap.
The soup they give you could have more flavor, but the rest of food is really good!
I ordered this time hibachi, but ramen soup and sushi are also delicious!

Our server was phenomenal and the food was great. Even if you don't want to go to the restaurant for a Hibachi experience they have a large dining room and a menu that you can choose from. The sushi was very good and was a great price. They have all sorts of sushi and the prices are very fair for how much you get and there are lots of options if you are picky.

Restaurant could be a little nicer inside but overall the sushi was good quality filet was tender and hot tea hit the spot.

God would eat hibachi here. There's nothing I love more food wise, than an entertaining hibachi adventure. The chef was hilarious, was alot more entertaining and loosened up than many, and certainly tried very hard to get us all laughing and watching intently as he made our food. The fireball was intense, the mini volcano was pretty cool, and the show was just comical and just a purely wonderful show. It's so clean here. And everyone is practicing the highest standard of Covid safety.
Get the chicken and steak if you want a wonderful and less expensive option, but get the lobster and scallops if you want a blissful and more expensive option.
MAKE SURE you get the YUM YUM SAUCE!

First time to a Japanese restaurant and I tried many things. Came in for lunch..The chessy crab wontons are very good. Had the sushi sampler. Was all good. A few pieces were not my favorite but thats what trying new things is for. Soup was excellent. Salad was good. Veggies and noodles are very good and fresh. I had steak and shrip that was excellent. Good portions of food in all. All good food. Cook was pleasant. Very funny and a good show to watch cook. Will be back again!!

Came on a Sunday afternoon with some coworkers had some nice cold drinks and some good food we had a really great time with the waiter and the chef, the chef put on a good show and a really great sense of humor, we laughed, drank and stuffed our faces and then laughed some more, will definitely be back. 👍👍👍

My food was really tasty, seasoned perfectly, and the service was excellent! I will be back !!
