La Bamba Mexican Restaurant

A must stop for Alumni, burrito as big as your head, great salsa and chips, affordable and usually more than you can eat!

La Bamba's sushi never disappoints. It's SUCH a crazy good deal for really good sushi. It's fun that if one person is in the mood for sushi while someone else is in the mood for Mexican, you can get both here.

I've been here a few times since coming to ISU, and I've been satisfied each time. The Mexican food is on point, the sushi is on point. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to sushi, but the sushi here is very reasonably priced and very well made. The rolls are also relatively cheap, you can get 3 for $14... and they're full size rolls. I love it here!

Went there after 27 years and their burritos are just as great now as they were WAY back when. Good respectful people who puts service first and great food as their number one priority

Surprisingly really good sushi for a great price. I would definitely give La Bamba a try if your in the area and in the mood for sushi.

Desha is an absolute ANGEL! She was so kind and welcoming to us as soon as we walked in. Very odd that a Mexican restaurant would serve sushi but it kinda works really well considering it’s a college town. Either way, the sushi was great!!! Highly recommend and will be back!

Put in the context of a college/late night restaurant. Everytime I am in town I have to get a Super Burrito. It is iconic to the Bloomington-Normal area. It is the perfect late snack or after party grab. Price for size = great value. 10/10 recommended!

Great place for a meal. Good is cooked right in front of you and you choose what you want in it.

The experience was good both times I went for people you'll pay about 22 bucks which is great. Try the rice water it's to die for.

They seemed like they were all family members running a business together. It was so clean and bright in that place I can't wait to take my family there.

Amazing service.
I went in on a Friday night, the place was packed, huge line for sushi, huge line for Mexican food, usual crowd. My boyfriend running late for his train and I had hoped to grab some dinner for him before he left but I wasn’t sure I would make it. I ordered and sat down, and my anxiety was racing, I wasn’t going to say anything since I understood how busy everyone was and that there were people ahead of me, but the girl taking orders mistakenly brought me someone else’s. I explained to her the situation and she was super nice and helpful, despite being visibly rushed and busy, she checked on my order and she gave me a time. I saw her even checking with the chefs to see which one was mine. She got it to me just in time, she even signaled me over when they were about to finish so I could run out the door. Super amazing service, the chefs were friendly and they were working super fast trying to get everyone’s orders out, the girl that took my order went above and beyond, super nice and I made it to the train in time!

Their Sushi bar is great. It is hidden jam inside of Mexican restaurant. Can't say enough how i enjoyed every bite. Price was really good as well 👍. She also brought our order to the table so we don't need to wait by busy area next to ordering. Very kind of her.
