Refuge Food Forest

I love this! Food growing out in the open anyone can stop and get something to snack on 🥰

There are an absolutely bonkers amount of blackberry and elderberry bushes here. Lots of other good stuff too, grapes, apples, paw paws, currants, raspberries. There were still lots of blackberries today near the end of August.

Hope in next 2-3 years, it will become a great attraction in Normal for people to establish a healthy and greener lifestyle. This should get bigger for common good of the community.

Wonderful idea and great location...only problem was I was too early to harvest anything of note. Looking forward to harvesting other things (raspberries, notably) and possibly finding time to volunteer.

This place is amazing. Come pick some free food or just visit and check out what a sustainable local food system can look like and feel like.

Very clean. Lots of open spaces and different things to do. There's a playground, pavilion, soccer nets, walking path. There's lots of parking around too.

This is a local treasure. Great place to spend intergenerational family time!
