Shepard Park

I go to the dog park. Folks are friendly dog lovers. We may not know the people's names, but we learn the canine names. When there are the inevitable scuffles, most folks are understanding and supportive.

It's my favorite place to go and play with all my friends. The smile on my face is proof of what a great place it is.

Clean and well maintained. We are traveling through and just happened to find in time to have a picnic lunch there.
While at the park we watched a family playing baseball in diamond.
We where able to throw a game a fetch with our pup, in the nice dog enclosure. And a boy was having a great time riding his bike on a beautiful afternoon.

What an excellent park! We came for the playground and especially liked that the playground designed for younger kids (2-5) has a fence and a soft pad around it (rather than woodchips that sometimes go in mouths). The equipment was in great condition and very age appropriate. They also have a big playground for older kids that looked quite fun with swings, a rock climbing area, and tall slides. It looked as though they also have a big field for soccer, football, or something like that, as well as a baseball diamond, a walking path, a pavilion, and a pretty big parking lot. We definitely plan to come back!

Nice spacious park with large shelter and charcoal grill for use. Various recreational equipment for children. Ball diamonds and 2 batting cages. Also nice size fenced in dog park. The park, like those all over in Bloomington and Normal are very well kept up. Thanks to the park and recreation departments.

Great dog park! I like that there are actually two enclosures so that the big and little dogs can be separate. The new pavilion in the bigger enclosure is really nice and will be great during the summer for shade.

My 5 year old sister loved the tot area! She is autistic so it is absolutely perfect! Her favorite was the bongo drums and the slides! Also, what made it perfect was the fenced in area so she could not get out! I loved the big kid area, the dog park, and the basketball hoops! GO HERE!!!! AWESOME PLACE!!!!

A great place to take your dog to socialize with other dogs. With 2 different areas, dogs of all sizes can hang out and run around freely. We love going there.

Great area for dogs to run and play in a fenced environment. Small dogs can be separated from large. Water provided for both areas in warm seasons. Highly recommended.

Great clean park nearby. There is an awesome large dog park with multiple runs. Also some softball fields there as well.

My dogs love the dog park. Meeting new doggie friends was the highlight of their day. Much of my summer will be spent here.

Shaded areas to sit & U can watch kids play. Water fountain 4 kids -- there is even a dog area. 2 areas 4 kids 2 play according 2 their ages.

My dog loves this place! No matter the time of year there are always dogs at the dog park. There is a also a basketball court and playground parallel to the dog park.

Great place to take your dogs, 90% of people actively watch their own dogs, and almost no one gets upset if you have to step in to help keep things calm and fun.

Great place for dogs to run and play. There's even a water fountain for dogs and their people.
