Great atmosphere, drinks and food. The bar staff is fun! They have the greatest band in metro Detroit play. The Chris Canas Band brings down the house!

Great owners! Great service!! It is all michigan based items. This summer they are adding cornhole area and a patio. Owners are very personable.

Really good beer selection. Great service! Father and son running the place are very friendly and great people! We always feel so welcome when we go. The food is awesome. Reasonably priced drinks. Live music regularly. This place really is the perfect little craft bar. Two thumbs up for sure!

This place does capture much of the charm of an "Up North" establishment. They offer a small but thoughtful selection of craft beers. I have not yet tried their food.
The servers are friendly, and efficient. The owner is friendly and personable.
This evening they had free live entertainment - the band was talented and entertaining.

Great place! Awesome staff. Love supporting this local business. Jim, one of the owners, is so friendly and goes above and beyond -- always remembers patrons by name and greets you with a smile and a handshake. The bar was super accommodating for a large crowd when I planned a surprise party for my girlfriend a few months back. Great selection of beers, love trying new things while I'm there. Really homey, down-to-earth atmosphere.

By far the best steak I've had from any place locally. Super friendly atmosphere and some of the kindest people I've ever met. The bartender and owner are some of the nicest people I've ever encountered. the beer is amazing, the food is amazing, 11/10 will come again!

This is a nice little craft beer bar. They currently have about 12 craft taps with a nice mix of beers. Drink and food specials during various sporting events. The staff are very friendly and helpful, more then willing to let you sample the beer. Free popcorn at all times. Very fair prices!

New owners, so lots of changes, but I'm very happy to have a craft beer option in the neighborhood. The bartenders stayed and they're great! There's plenty of dives in the area, so I'm looking forward to walking over all summer. They're very friendly and open-minded owners so polite suggestions are appreciated! Decent amount of TV's and jukebox still available. Furniture is getting updated and a garage door with patio may be in the works. I'm proud to have this addition to the neighborhood! Four stars with room to grow!
UPDATE:
New beers upon every visit, dependably great Michigan craft beers with solid favorites like Bell's Two-Hearted. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Somehow they always remember me, even months between visits. Food updated consistently, but always for the better. New favorite is the lettuce wraps! Owner is obviously loving this adventure and is a joy to interact with!

Owner Jim was very personable. Other staff were very friendly. White fish dip was the best. Celebrated my birthday here. Such a great place to hang with friends. Can't wait for the live music.

Super cozy family owned bar with a love for locally made music and beer. The Sunday night open mic brings me back to the old days of the Soup Kitchen. Friendly service, smiling patrons, and killer food.I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Great cozy northern vibe with super friendly staff and excellent music. Although the beer menu isn't the largest, they make great choices. Standard bar food to keep you going. It's becoming a local haunt for my girlfriend and I.

Luckily found this place while adventuring. The owner is very nice, food is great, the beer is all from Michigan breweries! The menu is hilarious😊 The restrooms are super clean and the all around atmosphere is welcoming!

This bar has started to grow on me. The new owners are awesome and are really trying to do something with the place. Jill serves up frothy suds and an array of "quick bites" while Jim can be seen all over the bar, especially introducing patrons to the newest old music. They know your name and they make you feel wanted. My advice: try the pimento cheese and pretzel bites, washed down with a flight of the various tapped beers that week. They also have the occasional live band with everything from blues to zydeco music! Definately recommend dropping in!

Well first of all let me say thank you to Jim and the other owners of the Up North Craft Beer Bar!!! Wife and I have been going for about a year and always have a wonderful time! A well needed bar in the area!!! The bar itself is visually very familiar to a small up north MI dive bar... hence the name. From the house look of the bar outside, to the dive bar look inside it's very comfortable and "divey" in a good way. They have really good live music. If you follow them on Facebook you will see the events. I'm always impressed with the bands they pull. Often good live bands during the week.

I'm happy to say for booze they have a great selection of craft beers and a good selection of liquor mostly from Michigan. Thankfully there is no Miller and no Bud Light!!! Woo Hoo! Don't worry plenty of beer\booze and you WILL find something that you like, no worries.

Food is bar food with a small menu but have some really good items. I'm a fan of their beef sliders, smoked chicken quesadilla, sweet potato fries, and their twice deep fried large pretzel (yes I said twice fried). They do have other items like chili, fish sliders, etc. Sometimes you will stop in and they will have a crock-pot of something one of the staff has made. Usually a chili or soup and always good!

So my overall review... great dive bar that has really good live music, nice staff, decent bar food, good beers, and plenty of liquor. Ohh they also have TouchTunes when there isn't any live music planning. If you like dive bars you must make a trip there. There isn't any walking bars close by but plenty of other bars in UBER distance of a few miles.

This shining star in Livonia won't be its best kept secret for long! The family owned craft bar and grill is an exceptionally warm and welcoming oasis that offers great sliders, free music by some of the best blues musicians around on Saturdays and Wednesdays and owners Jim and Bobbie will make you feel welcome and happy you came. 5 stars!

Love this place. I've only ever been there in Tuesdays but food is great, fun atmosphere, normal bar food, and several great beers and ciders on regular rotation. Oh and free popcorn.

Nice place on 7 Mile west of Inkster, redecorated (new owners first year) featuring Michigan Craft Beers. The bar has been resurfaced with recycled bowling alley hardwood (see photos)! Live music on Wed and Sat (Rockabilly, Bluesy). My first visit on Sunday afternoon, watched the Penguins eliminate the Flyers, was a good afternoon, nice spring weather; also features Up North Munchies, Dearborn Sausage Knackwurst or Bratwurst, Sliders, House-Smoked Chicken Nachos, and a dessert called the Guiness Brownie.
