This was a fantastic place to stay! Friendly, helpful staff... Great pool and sauna... Bar and food was great and convenient... Location is awesome for visiting Porcupine Mountains... View of Lake Superior is gorgeous... Great clean room and bathroom... Pet friendly. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Our ambition was to visit the Porcupine Mountains. We stayed here for the weekend. We had a really great experience. We had a lake view room because we deserved it. The hotel is in very close proximity to Lake Superior. The hotel is within very close range to the Porcupine Mountains and Lake Of The Clouds. Staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean! The hotel has wi-fi it is very nice. Because mostly you are off the grid. We would stay here again. Because we really liked staying here.

Absolutely beautiful location. Loved the fire pits on the beach. And view was beyond breathtaking. But the rooms fell short and the good nights rest. We were there 3 days and it was the worst hardest bed I have ever slept on and the pillows were so flat. And I froze they had just these thin little blankets. I'll be back. But not til ya get some updated beds.

We enjoyed staying here. Complimentary breakfast was good. Enjoyed the salt water pool. Close to Lake of the clouds. You never know what a hotel is like until you get there. We were pleasantly surprised. The young lady who prepared the breakfast was very sweet and kind. The rooms were clean and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel. Definitely would stay again. In house bar and restaurant was good. Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is both ice machines were broken and no one fixed/replaced them during our stay.

This is one of our favorite places to stay! Fantastic restaurant and breakfast! Excellent location right on lake Superior and close to the Porcupine Mountains!

I absolutely loved it here. Super tidy and more up to date for a UP hotel. Love the Jacuzzi tub in the room. And it was nice to be greeted by the towel swans lol. Nice touch. The bed was clean and comfortable, the shower was great and they even have dove soaps which is a plus for me. The staff was super helpful and able to answer all of our questions. I can see my self returning here for sure. Thanks for the awesome stay.

It's a simple hotel, but it has all the necessities including a bar and toy gas. Can't beat the view, the staff is great. The perch fry... wow. So good and incredibly priced. And the soups! In the off season, if you're not staying at the hotel, you can buy a day pass for their pool and sauna for $5/day!

Loved this location! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Pool was nice and temp in pool room was perfect. Could walk to the beach easily and look for a few stones for the kids to take home from Lake Superior! Would stay again for sure if we are in the area!

There are so many good things to say about this hotel! We stopped in to book for one night spontaneously. The gentleman at the front desk who was working on 6/30 at 3 pm has outstanding customer service!! He was so patient and kind with me and my requests and helped with the best room and deal. 5+stars to him 😃 If he or management see this-please thank ask him for us!!

We stopped into the bar for food to go, the staff was great. They chatted with us and helped us with ordered what we were looking for. They were working the bar side and 5+ stars for them too!

This is our 3rd stay here-the rooms are clean and perfect. Everyone working here has always made our stay above and beyond a typical hotel stay. We love the beach/community area they have set up. It’s such a unique and wonderful hotel.

Honestly, would give it 6 stars given the UP. Room was great and had swans kissing out of towels and chocolate, firepit for sunset with wood provided and plenty of driftwood to cut if you bring a handsaw was nice, breakfast was a good variety. Will absolutely stay again.

The AmericInn was a great addition to our family trip. The staff was very friendly as we checked into our 8 rooms. The location on Lake Superior was amazing. The kids loved skipping rocks and the adults enjoyed the swing and seats to relax and visit. Dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We would certainly recommend this location as you travel to the Porkies.

Stacey at the front desk was wonderful. She took great care of us and answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations. The pool, hot tub and sauna were all great. The best part was we were right on Lake Superior. They have benches by the water, picnic tables and a fire ring. Everything was great and we will stay again. Good food

Fabulous hotel and staff. Right on Lake Superior, comfortable beds, great food at the restaurant, great drinks at the bar, and a great location. Cannot rave enough about this hotel and the staff. Dylan at the front desk was amazing to work with. The head of housekeeping was also wonderful as well as the housekeeping staff. Worth every penny! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The pub and grub had very good food. Shawn our host was very good when he was dealing with a difficult customer... great job!
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep.
We will definitely return on our next trip to hike the porcupine mtns.

Very nice staff. Absolutely beautiful view, great continental breakfast! They do have a restaurant and pool. Sauna was not working when I was there but they do have one. It is an hour drive to any stores half hour to dollar general nothing else. If you are looking for Hikes and beautiful views this is the place. We got snow the day we left and decided to Hike 1 more time because of how pretty the snow was hanging from the trees; it was the best hike of when weekend.

The most incredible hotel I've ever stayed at.
By far the cleanest! They clean daily, and not just when you leave either. Always with a smile! I can't say enough great things about the cleaning crew. The room smelled amazing. 😍 The bed was super comfortable. The staff were ALL extremely sweet, kind, and helpful. We ended up with a bad storm that knocked out power good a few hours. And they were kind and accommodating the entire time.

What an amazingly clean, convenient, and relaxing place to stay right on Lake Superior! It’s like having your own vacation property, but without all the hassles and expenses! We stayed two nights and the rooms were remarkably clean and quiet! The staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly! They allowed pets, but you’d never know it! It was fantastic to be able to walk the dog and watch the sun come up, then roast marshmallows by the shore and enjoy the amazing Lake Superior sunsets!!! The free breakfast was hot and tasty. The dinner menu had a nice variety on it and the special sweet potato dipping sauce is something I’m craving as I write this! We’ll be back!!

What a great hotel experience. Very clean rooms, restaurant and bar right on site. Pool and hot tub very clean. The views of Lake Superior and the proximity to the Porcupine MTN and Ski Porkies was with in minutes. Highly recommend this hotel
