Union Mine Interpretive trailhead

The Union Mine Trail is a fun, family-friendly loop trail through the Porcupine forest, that winds alongside several nearby creeks. The walk includes several informative trail signs, outlining the history of mining in the Porcupine forest. Early to mid-summer this trail can get pretty buggy, so be sure to pack some spray!

Great hike, lots of information boards through out the trail. Lots of waterfalls/rapids that you can get very close to or climb around.

I really liked this trail. Hiking in the same area & reading the story of William Spaulding helped me to understand I little bit of what wilderness living/mining was like. The gorge was an unexpected surprise! Beautiful. We got turned around & lost our trail looking at the gorge but finally gained our orientation.

Really cool trail and great for kids

This is a great trail and I am glad I came to experience it. It's short and easy, but it's a pretty tail and the information signs are actually really cool and give you insight into the history of the area. This is one you will want to check out.
