Although winter did not cooperate this year, my son and I love skiing here. It is way more affordable than the big ski resorts and less crowded too. The poutine was great. We're looking forward to next year and hoping for lots of snow!

A nice ski hill. Not a ton of runs, but the ones they have are fun. We braved the hill on a very cold day and we were rewarded with lots of powder and the hill practically to ourselves. Everyone there was incredibly friendly to both locals and out of Towner's like us. You can tell the people working here like their jobs and enjoy being there. Also, a big thank you to Tyler for setting us up with a ski wax at the last minute. Way to go above and beyond when we were just looking for some wax paste.

Love to ski the porkies! Amazing views of lake superior and tons of fresh snow. There are warm fires in the lodge plus a great family atmosphere.

Even though it was a overcast day, we had beautiful scenery while taking the chairlift up the hill. Once we were at the top of the hill, we decided to walk down to the lodge instead of waiting for the chairlift to return us to the bottom. The walk down the ski slope brought back memories of our skiing days! As far as Covid, many wore masks even though you were outside. The chairs were occupied every other one on the way up and every third chair on the way down. Well worth the experience!!

Amazing view, snow, powder, and trees. More intermediate runs than Mt Bohemia, and a little less powder. But no complaints from our group.

The farther West you go in Michigan's Upper Peninsula the better it gets; you can't get farther West than Gogebic - Ontonagon Counties and Porcupine Mtns. Wilderness State Park is the "Jewel In Michigan's U.P. Crown."

Nice small ski resort. Went after some fresh snow fall. Good hill to learn, or venture some in the woods for fresh turns! Lodge was open and serving food. Only open Friday-Monday.

We went on a winter trip in February (from Alabama) to see Lake Superior and the ice caves. We rented a cabin on the shore near Porcupine Mountain State Park and ended up spending 3 days skiing here, and had a blast with the kids. Had a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old who got to take lessons, and it worked out great for them. The prior year we had skied at Big Sky, and it was just too vast with the small children. We were so glad we found this place.

Wonderful hiking area! Some areas impassable in spring. Wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots. Hiking poles are recommended. Will be back to do the trails again.

Tl;Dr - Above-and-beyond customer Service.
The slopes looked great but we only got down two runs before a minor (our fault, not even on the hill) injury stopped us from enjoying more. I expected to be outta luck but figured I'd ask if we could move our lift tickets to a different date if nothing else.

They countered with a full refund offer, knowing it was no fault of their own.

These people just want you to ski. The prices are even like they used to be everywhere else.

You can beat the view, Superior on front of you as soon as you turn to go down the hill. The lifties know how to keep things moving and the lodge is comfortable. Great Midwest skiing

Love this place! Been coming here for many many years. Very family friendly. This place is owned by the state of Michigan and the past 10 years has been operated by Goegibic Community College which they have done an outstanding job running. The state/DNR is taking control of operations going forward, which I am a little apprehensive of.

Went here on a day with fresh 6 in of powder and it was amazing! Excellent mix of ungroomed and tree skiing. The staff was especially friendly and helpful.

We came to the UP for a little ski get away and a gal in Copper River suggested that we visit Porkies. This place is awesome and a must on any ski itinerary. They have plenty of groomed trails and we'll maintained glades for all levels of skiers. The staff is super helpful and all followed covid precautions. There is a huge outdoor fireplace for working up or the lodge is also open with properly spaced tables. Great family place too!

Charming ski area with friendly people and impressive gladed terrain. The snow was thin while we were there but still very skiable. The prices at the cafeteria were exceptionally reasonable, something you don’t see much these days. Bill and Johnny made sure that I had a great day on the hill. I hope to be back soon!

This is by far the best hill I have been on because I like riding in the trees. They clear out all the brush under the trees making it a really fun experience carving through the powder in the trees on a snow board. The food is priced fairly. Only $4.50 for a cheese burger bigger than the angus ones at kwik trip. and $1.50 for a side of fries. Blown away compared to Mt Ashwabay.

Super cute, small ski area. Not crowded at all, the chair lift never had a line. Super awesome views of Lake Superior and decent snow. We had a blast here!
