National Coney Island

The food was what you'd expect out of a Coney Island, just something that's good but nothing all 6 special to make a trip out of your way specifically for it. I got a Chicken, Bacon & Ranch Hani, which was good, could've used some more ranch but the chicken and bacon were crisp and tender. The hot chocolate is always good there so if you're ever feeling cold on a winter day it's definitely worth getting. Service could've been quicker but it didn't bother us too much since I went as a group catching up with one another.

As a recent returnee to Michigan (been gone decades) I was surprised by how many - and how many different - Coney Island restaurants there are. I am NOT getting into that fight, I'll happily try them all. Turns out the way I like my hot dogs is exactly how the Coney Islands make them. Yea me!
I got in here about 11:30, beating the rush. Several tables were occupied already but most were available. I was seated quickly and Nicolette was there inside 30 seconds to take my drink order. She was very friendly and has a good sense of humor. One of those people that is truly good at customer service.
After I figured out what I wanted (classic Coney dogs, duh) my order showed up super fast, exactly as requested. Hot and delicious.
Nicolette checked in several times as she passed by, always with a smile.
I guess my next Coney Island visit should be a competitor to see how it stacks up. The bar was set pretty high here, though.

I love diners and this one doesn't disappoint. My only complaint is you can't get most of the breakfast items at the drive through. Oh well. Worth going inside anyways as the atmosphere is chill and cozy and the customer service is always perfect.
And if you stay at the Candlewood suites just behind National, you get a discount on your order!

First time trying a conley dog and loose burger. Was every good. Service and atmosphere was great. Will go back again.

I’m so happy with Nikki B’s professionalism and discretion. My husband came here around 12:30 pm and decided to share our love for wing dings and fries ! Let me tell YOU this, she came by and asked multiple times how our meal was in a very polite manner and left us very satisfied.

This is the place where I call the big breakfast the perfectl breakfast!:) everything taste amazing and cooked at perfection!

While I am sad that the national closed in utica this one has the same great service and food. Get a Hani!

1st time having biscuits and gravy and it was delicious even the next day. Very friendly and quick service.

Although they are short staffed, the waitresses had smiles on their faces and were very friendly. The food was just what I needed and I am so happy that I stopped here to grab some breakfast. No feeling of being rushed, a burden, etc. Nothing but good and positive energy.

I love their hanis so flipping yummy,!! And again when it comes to the services it depends on your waitress there was only one girl that i can remember who gave horrible service. I have kids my four year old asked for chocolate milk and for my 2-year-old asked if we could get a water and she brought back two chocolate mugs instead and they were in the smallest cups ever for kids which is fine but you could see at least 4 in of chocolate syrup at the bottom as if it didn't get stirred up all the way and way too sweet for my kids especially a baby, she barely checked up on us she kept forgetting to bring certain things to the table and she forgot to do something or add on something with my dad's meal Oh my dad asked for grilled chicken hani And she brought him fried chicken. Rather than that the food is great I usually never have bad service I will waitress myself so I know how the routine works and this girl seems like she was overwhelmed or scattered brained when she wasn't even busy at all. We started to bring a height chair for my daughter It took her like 10 minutes to even bring it and she brought a booster seat instead for my 2-year-old and I told her no I need a height chair I said and so she brought us the height chair.. everyone makes mistakes don't get me wrong but she made a lot of mistakes she just didn't seem all the way there.

One of the few places you can get a breakfast for a reasonable price. Service is fast and staff is friendly. Clean. Worth a try and you get bonus points too...

National is my 2nd favorite family diner they always have good food and good service. I tried something new this time and it was still great. My son always gets the kids chicken and fries and we love the ranch. The waitress we got was super friendly and sweet she got us everything we needed and was really nice. I will be coming back to this location more often :)
