Volstead House - Whiskey Bar & Speakeasy Eagan

Absolutely loved this place! Came here yesterday; and it has a really cool vibe. The bar is in the back of a restaurant and the overall vibe is very chill and upscale. Their alcohol list is insane! There’s over 100s of options and choices to choose from. I ordered a whiskey sour with parm fries and my experience was absolutely amazing. I would absolutely return! Also, the bartender working was absolutely amazing!! The drinks he made were delicious.

Very cool atmosphere, great design. Loved the booth we were sat in, and the drinks were beautiful and delicious.
There was only one waiter on staff with a full place, so service was slower than anticipated, but it was understandable.
He was very kind and apologized, “No worries” we said.
I look forward to going back and just recommended it to a friend. 👍👍

You are best off with a reservation if you would like to go to the speakeasy. Medium priced food with an incredible selection of whiskey, bourbon, and all types of liquor. Giselle went above and beyond for service. Would come back again.

The food was very good and I absolutely loved chatting with the bartender! He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable when it came to their whisky selection, as well as wine! Highly recommend!

This is what I call a “grown up “ experience! If your looking for a place with atmosphere and quality spirits, Volstead is it. I enjoyed the “smoked” Manhattan, which was outstanding! 10 for presentation and 10 for taste(Forrester bourbon- amazing) . We enjoyed the Wall eye and the prohibition burger… outstanding! In addition, I recommend the sazerac! I will be back in the summer to enjoy a cigar.

What a great little bar! I ordered the smoky Manhattan, and I received a magical cocktail in some mysterious little charred shadowbox that had to be steeped in smoke for 3-5 minutes. Really unique experience, and tons of hard-to-find whiskeys on the menu.

We went here for our anniversary and loved it. Servers were attentive, but didn’t bug us too much. Well decorated. Delicious food—especially the homemade bourbon sauce. We loved the burgers, duck wontons, and wings. Drinks were also very nice. The menu for drinks is extensive. I wish there would have sometimes been a scale on how whiskey forward they were because they tasted wonderful, but at a speakeasy would have loved a more liquor forward drink. We had 4 cocktails and all were wonderful.

Really thoughtful menu of house specialty cocktails. Mostly whiskey as you'd expect but a few options of other liquors for variety and preference.

Long road trip to the land of 1000 lakes. Stopped for a beer and found that they had a speakeasy in the back!! Pretty solid selection and half price neat pours on Sunday!

Taylor was our server tonight and she gave top-notch service.

She was very knowledgeable about items on the menu, and whatever she couldn’t answer, she had another bartender come over to us right away to explain some of the questions that we had.

Can’t wait to go back

One of our favorite spots for drinks. The speakeasy atmosphere is very cool, and the patio is open to the main dining room for an indoor-outdoor feel. The food is only OK, but the service is always great.

My wife took me out for an early birthday dinner and drinks for our first visit here and we had a great experience! We tried the smoked Manhattan, Don't mind if I don't and a sample flight of Scotches. We ate the blackened tenderloin tips, smoked brisket egg rolls and a Volstead burger and all were great. I asked our server to help put together a flight of scotches based on my past favorite ever, Balvenie 21 portwood, and she knocked it out of the park! Great service, food, drinks and atmosphere. Highly recommend are the smoked Manhattan and brisket egg rolls if you try nothing else, thanks for the great night Volstead House!!!

This speakeasy is a hidden gem of Eagan. Some of the best cocktails of all time and the bar atmosphere is incredible.

Went on Friday night and had such a wonderful time. Grateful for the vegan option- jackfruit tacos were delicious. We had the ruby rose cocktail and it was wonderful. The band creating the best atmosphere. Our server Parker was amazing at his job and created such a wonderful experience for us. Definitely worth the trip to check out this great bar!

Drew was the bartender in the back and although he claimed he was new he made me one of the better old fashion's I've had in awhile. Awesome dude! The atmosphere is phenomenal; the whiskey selection is unbelievable and the food is awesome I got the burger. Frys are great! If you are I. Town this is a MUST!

Good atmosphere. Small back separated corner of the burger restaurant out front. Tons of whiskeys I've never seen before. Prices seem in line for what they are. Cocktails were pretty good. Food want bad. Brussels were a little too coated but still decent. Burger was good as were the fries.

The holy grail for whiskey and bourbon cocktails smoked cocktails cocktails and just the eclectiveness of a very substantial bourbon bar with so much flair it may be the tip echelon of such... a solury a treat and a moment of being spoiled.

Stumbled upon this place on a quick trip to town. Really enjoyed it. Cocktails where amazing and the whiskey selection was awesome. Had some outstanding offerings with out breaking the budget. Head bartender was great to chat with and we both learned about something new. Great time and for sure will be back. We. Done

The best cocktails we have had in the Minneapolis area. Consistently.
The mixologists bring a lot to the experience, know how to create a great cocktail and share their knowledge.
The drink menu changes throughout the year. It’s hard to try other drinks when the Old Fashioned and the Smoked Manhattan are so well done every time.
Worth the drive!
We didn’t have food on this visit but have had the steak bites and the burgers in the past - delicious!
Truly a hidden gem!
