I highly recommend bonfe I’ve been using them for years and they’ve always been extremely professional and kind toward me. One person I would specifically like to highlight for all the people reading this is Brandon Countz. Always ask for Brandon he really cares and it shows. He’s more than an employee to bonfe and always goes above and beyond no matter the circumstances.

Paid $100 for someone to come tell me what I already knew - broken sump pump. They looked at it for 30 seconds and spent the majority of the time going over all of their preposterous pricing options. One of the options - OVER 1k means you also have to go purchase a new sump pump yourself. We went to Home Depot and bought a $150 sump pump and a $20 part. We watched one YouTube video and replaced it ourselves. It was hands down the easiest home project we have ever done. It took us 10 minutes (not even exaggerating) and it’s working perfectly!!!! If you don’t have someone to help, I would recommend calling a local shop first or posting on your Nextdoor app for help (someone said they found someone to help and charged them $75). Really disappointed in humanity that they think 2k is actually worth what they are offering. This place sounds like a total scam. I would never call them again or recommend them to anyone. Not to mention their receptionist was also rude to me.

We had them come out to replace our hot water heater after ours gave up and started flooding the basement. Repair/replacement was timely, however it failed inspection with the city. We told them, and they said they would have their supervisor call the city. We never heard back so after a few weeks, we called the city, who said they never heard back from Bonfe and nothing was worked out. We told Bonfe, who said they would take care of it. A few months later, here I am again, calling the city asking about the permit to learn that it is still “failed inspection”.

We had our main sewer line inspected and they found the tiling was broken near the city mainline. Needing it fixed right away, they took advantage of us, charging way more than what I found out later would have been a fair price. Price gouging.

Furnace was working intermittently. They came and took a visual look, standing there with their hands in their pockets, said the furnace was old and gave me an estimate for new equipment, $3000.
They never actually diagnosed the problem, I told them to leave.
Did a little more digging myself and found out my thermostat was bad. Run to menards, $40 and an hour later furnace was working great. I complained to management and after arguing with them for a bit they finally refunded my $79 diagnostic fee.

I needed a diagnostic of my furnace not working properly and they couldn't totally tell me what the fix that was needed was because it didn't fall within the time frame of the 30 minutes and he couldn't see if there was a crack so he couldn't tell me if repairing the pressure valve was going to create a problem because he couldn't see the crack so basically all the time took to look through the furnace could not provide a clear answer on what the problem was. The suggestion was to just get a new furnace and and there was a lot of issues going on but still didn't get a clear picture of what was needed to fix the problem or what it would cost. Tried to charge for additional diagnostics which would cost near 400 dollars but this was never disclosed when setting theappointment.

Charged me $89 and never once got down to look at the pipes or do anything. My husband called them to reconnect a water supply line to a dishwasher. They did nothing. No inspection, no help. Just more quotes for more $ and a lot of assumptions with no actual confirmation or diagnosis of the issue. Total scam. Stay away from this company. I will from now on.
