Herrema's Food Market Inc

I really like Herrema's. It's an old-fashioned, relaxing supermarket!! They have nice desserts - which my mother enjoys more than Wegmans (eclairs). They have a great lasagna in the deli. They sell rotisserie chicken - I think the same cost as Wegs, and tastes great. I find their prices are fine. People compare it to Wegmans, but I don't think Wegmans is inexpensive on any level - where you can but a ready-made Caesar salad for $11!!! Its just lettuce, a few croutons and dressing - for $11. And a turkey sandwich for $10-12 as well. That's expensive when you can make both for about $1.50. Herrema's has the varieties that Wegmans doesn't have. They have Cheesie Eddies Cheescake. They have a ton of frozen dinner selections - Banquet, Hungry Man, etc., whereas Wegs has a small selection comparatively. Its a nice alternative that you should explore. Update: July 2023. Well, they have been making nice improvements in the store!! Beautiful meat and fish selections, and I really like the prepared foods they're having. Their Chili is awesome! Meatloaf and sloppy joe ready to go - new salads - all excellent! And no, I don't work for Herrema's nor do I receive any money for posting. I'm just letting you know its a nice store to check out -- I've gotten very tired of the usual selections at the other stores. They've also been slowly adding all sorts of organic, vegan products. I see they now have their own cake decorating section ... it looks like a cool addition.

Herrema's is a wonderful grocery store. I think their biggest asset is the bakery. They have an outstanding selection of desserts. The employees are always friendly. Their prices are a little higher than other "superstores," but it's so nice & convenient. It's definitely worth it!

Best meat department in town. Very friendly staff and always helpful.

I am a long-time fan of Herrema's for its friendly staff, good produce, bakery, meat and deli selections and recently, for upgrading the variety and visibility of vegetarian/vegan products. They seem to have expanded Hispanic and Asian spices, sauces and mixes as well. You can shop there to check off items on a list, and to get creative ideas there as well. It is a gem.

The store has made many improvements, since new ownership. I find pricing comparable to other stores. The meat department is wonderful and now constructing a bakery. 👏👏

Great store, great feel. It’s a shame that most people don’t support their local stores enough. In my years of shopping at the store with my mother, we have only ever had one issue. They have a great array of products, and even the off-brand is good. They carry products from around the area, cashiers are efficient, and baked goods are delicious.

Gotta love a still alive and thriving independent grocery store.

Type of place where the employees get to know your name and let you know that your favorite soda is on sale.

Type of place you can get customer service bat the customer service desk! Unbelievable, I know... If I hadn't seen it myself, I'd think I was a liar, too .

Hot tip. Try the "White Birch Beer" soda. Like Root Beer but better. I'm now a full blown addict. (It's soda! Just a joke)

Support your local grocer!

Shopped here for the last 22 years. Meet some really nice staff members and they have a great meat department.
Also tonight I got a fish fry for the first time. VERY VERY good/satisfying!! Might of been my first but definitely not my last!

A taste of yesterday still exist! The grocer kept what was many years ago, and flavored the store with upgrades! Still can find a lot of good buys here without having to go to the chain supermarkets. The grocers are always helpful & friendly. Just a overall pleasant experience.

Great little grocery store that has a great hometown feel. The people are always friendly, good produce section and bakery, and great donuts as well.

love Herrema’s Its clean, easy to find things, a great selection and staff is wonderful. I eat mostly Plant Based and there are lots of plant based foods such as butter, Mayo, meat substitutes, etc.

Very nice little neighborhood market. Their deli dishes & own prepackaged foods are good, AND they have pistachio muffins! Make sure to check out their summer gardening area- esp beautiful hanging baskets. Also convenient for gas

Best locally owner grocery store on the West Side! Fantastic proces. Great meats. Last minute items to large meals/picnics/whatever. New owner. He's doing an amazing job. Seasonal garden market. Buy local!

Friendly service. Very clean and good selection. Very well stocked meat counter and they do their own cuts. This is an outstanding mid level market. Also has gas station in the plaza with several other stores.

I like shopping there very good selection of everything! Meat department is laid out well with a large selection of anything you need. I find myself actually walking thru the entire store looking at all they have to offer and what ever you need they have. They even have a gardening section in spring and summer..enjoy your visit.

Very pleasantly surprised at the quality and price of various products throughout the store. My wife and I have found a new supermarket to go to even if it's not close to us. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

The employees are caring and cater to everyone that walks in the door. Over the last 3 years I have had numerous hand surgeries and they have been awesome with helping me to my car and lifting . Today my grandson became very sick in the store and they were amazing with him. I am not sure of the girls name but she cleaned up everything and would not let me help. This is why we shop at Herrema"s and not Tops and Wegmans

A bit smaller than other grocery stores but what it lacks in size is made up by having quality over quantity. And if you don't find what you are looking for, Manager Alan or owner Dave Breen will get you what you need. Great employees too! And did you know that Herremas has been delivering groceries to your door step for years? Yep! Oh, they also have a gas station too.

A store that still has a butcher cutting meats. We drive from Chili because of the great meat selection! Beautiful pork chops and roasts reasonably priced. If you want a special cut just call the day before.
