Varsity Pizza Syracuse

Went to Syracuse to watch the basketball game of the day. Then came to Varsity, a must try place according to my hubby. The pizzas were very good, they even sold out at 15:30. The buffalo wings were also a big hit.

A one of kind place...a staple before the big game, any big game! The big fry is really, really big. Not crazy about the wing sauce, but different strokes for different folks!

I haven't been here for 30 plus years since I went to College at Syracuse and it looks the same! Great food just like I remembered. I had the Varsity Cheese Steak with onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Delicious! They serve beer! Still announcing your name when your wings are ready! The best wings around!

I was traveling with my Mom to Lake Placid & stopped at Syracuse University to meet up with her best friend & old collage roommate. Her roommate said this was the best & most well known restaurant in town & she wasn’t kidding!

This place has TONS of seating & incredible food options! We ordered a pizza for the table of mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, garlic, & feta. It was hands down the best pizza I’ve ever eaten!

The staff were also incredibly welcoming & very friendly! If your ever in the neighborhood of Syracuse University you NEED to eat here! This would absolutely be a homecoming favorite! Cheers!

Still great after all these years. Their pizza has the best toppings and crust in town. Try the "Varsity" pizza which has red sauce and mozzarella with a delicious combination of 2 meat (pepperoni & sausage) and 3 vegetable (onion, bell pepper, & mushroom) toppings. Also, while you're waiting for Elli to cook your pizza, place an order for 5 or 10 wings with Gus and he'll call out your name when they're ready to pick up. There are many additional comfort foods on the menu, and all of the ones I've tried are good. While you're eating, check out the college flags hung on the walls. Depending on the time of the year, if a flag is upside down it means that the Syracuse basketball or football team beat that school during the current season. Sadly, if the flag is upright it means we lost. POST- PANDEMIC UPDATE: Elli is still making the best pizza in town. I know it's a selfish thought, but I hope she never retires.

Great pizza, wrap, & grill restaurant!! Staff was friendly and courteous and took great pride in preparing excellent food. I got a gluten free wrap and it was made with care and perfection:) My husband got pizza, 2 slices for $5! Then liked it so much went back for more!! He just loved the crust, delicious!!

Delicious, breakfast and lunch/dinner. If first time, note line by front door is for pizza and back lines are split between cold cuts and hot sandwiches/meals.

Best place for pizza on the SU hill. Before or after a game....grab a slice. Great tuna melt

Epic college town eatery with great wings and burgers, with long tables and cafeteria-style service. An absolute must in Syracuse.

I being, a vested graduate of the institution I call my “my mother”, it was the Varsity that has filled my life blood with this ambrosia that has made me immortal. Each Padawan attending the higher institution or a local mage should venture to this tabernacle and partake of any and all of it’s offerings. The walls are adorned with the history and legacy of the journey. Come join the world of ethereal tucker, and enter into the immortal.

Nothing beats eating at the Varsity especially just before the game! Food is great and you are ready to cheer on your team when you are done! Lines move very quickly too.

Definitely a staple when visiting Syracuse. Great for lunch. Quick and easy and good!

Me and my Daughter had our first Varsity slice here today. Absolutely loved it and so did she.

We were visiting from Virginia Beach to see a concert at the Dome. We found this place while walking down the street. My husband had two slices of pizza and I got a wrap. Everything was so delicious and fresh! We were completely satisfied!

My favorite place in Syracuse great food and cozy place. Pizza is always fresh there!

My wife is having surgery and Ida sit and wait for a while, so I decided to take a break, have a smoke and went to Varsity for slice of pizza across the street. The pizza had just come out of the oven so it was really good. It was still fairly early in the morning so the place was not crowded and I had a pretty relaxing time to chill out before I went back to the hospital.

I've come when it's busy and when it's slow. The service is still the same no matter what! Very friendly and fast. The establishment always looks clean. I havent had anything bad so far! I love the crunchiness of the crust yet still soft on top.

Dining here is like stepping into a haven of culinary expertise and warmth. The staff's passion for their craft shines through in every interaction.

Delish! Grab a slice when you come for a visit or if you are a student here. Flaky crust, gooey cheese. Flavorful pizza served fast and hot.
