Kurzhals Coffee

Absolutely fantastic coffee in a killer atmosphere with amazing staff. The coffee house itself is nestled inside a small shopping center, so theres plenty available seating in the center's common area. The decor and aesthetic makes for a fantastic stage to study, catch-up with friends, or grab a quick bite.

Such a great place. Not open late, so come for a late breakfast or lunch. Coffee is always spot on, and menu has a little something for everyone. Currently only doing informal table service, but everything is still spot on. Check it out.

Always friendly and fast service. Great coffee at a super reasonable price. Delicious, locally sourced food with vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the Buffalo Tofu wrap with a large iced raspberry tea with lemon and it was amazing. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu and (GF) pastries.

I absolutely love this place me and boyfriend go here for breakfast. We always order the chocolate chip pancakes to share and then our own breakfast plate. The avo egg is DELISH!

Just had a Cappuccino with a bagel and cream cheese. The photo I took can tell you that both were made with tender loving care. Will definitely be back with friends!

They make a mean egg Avo bagel. Coffee is also great.

I get coffee here multiple times a week. Because I’m a regular, most of the time they don’t even have to ask me what I’m getting that day and make it as soon as I walk in the door. The staff is always top notch, super friendly and they make my coffee perfectly every time. I have a milk allergy, and I have not once had a contaminated drink. Not to mention that they always have a vegan option on the food menu, plus different vegan cookies and pastries every day. Super solid coffee shop.

Great coffee and a cornerstone of the neighborhood. To the staff - thank you for always being so cool and friendly... stopping in on Saturdays and Sundays is now a tradition for my family and I. To the owner - thank you for restoring the building and beautifying the corner. I love the lighting at night and generally having you in the neighborhood. Sincerely thank you.

We stopped by here in February while driving through NY on a visit from California. Needed some coffee, found them on Google maps. Best cup of coffee I ever had, hands-down, and delicious pastries as well. Rare to have both the coffee and the baked goods be outstanding in the same place! Loved the coffee so much we decided to buy another cup to go - and was amazed that we got them as refills instead of paying for a second cup. Try that at a chain place! Hope to be back in Peekskill in the future, just so I can stop by Kurzhals again.

Just picked up breakfast for the first time today. They made my lattes when I arrived so they wouldn't be cold, and the food is OUTSTANDING. The Los Vecinos B.E.C, with queso fresco, plantains, bacon and egg ... is truly one of the best things I've had in ages. Cannot wait to come back to try more - including the chai, which is house-made ... and sold out! Also, they have very good Covid precautions.

Found this place on Instagram and it looked cute and tasty. It's like they're amazing without even having to try too hard! My latte was awesome as was the vanilla iced latte. My Belgian waffle was soooo scrumptious! The fries were phenomenal! And the beca on the sesame bagel was probably the best breakfast sandwich ive ever tasted! This place did not disappoint! I am so looking forward to coming back!!

I had a great experience here. The everything bagel with cream cheese was really satisfying, the latte was well pulled, and the staff were friendly and polite. The seating area was very attractive and comfortable. This is how a cafe should be.

Awesome place. Great atmosphere. Great coffee and my personal favorite: 1 nice, hot, cozy hot chocolate with whipped cream & cinnamon with an almond croissant. Sweet Ascent is the little place in the back of the hall, which has all the candy you could name. Even CHOWARDS gum from 1932, and back to outdated Necco bar tablets from 1847!

I highly recommend this spot whether you are passing through or local. Excellent coffee and espresso. Leaning more toward '3rd wave' coffee shop. They elevate coffee to an art form using local beans with a light to medium roast. Katie was very knowledgeable and poured an excellent shot of 'spro. She gave me a spritz of sparkling water to cleanse the palate and a small sweet bite on the side.

Atmosphere was well maintained, and they have several rooms in the amalgam of businesses there in which to sit to fit different vibes. 5 out of 5. Thanks!!!

I LOVE this place!!!! From the living room seating area to their amazing Nitro Brew, this place is my favorite coffee spot in Peekskill- and yes, even over the other coffee shop in town! It's in the huge Dramatic Hall building and the coffee shop atmosphere is very cute they did such a great job!

Kurzhal's Staff is pleasant, friendly and prompt and always greets me with a welcoming smile. I have gotten to know a couple of them by name and they are fun to hang out with!

Their coffee: the shop took over some coffee of the former Big Bang coffee shop (which was also on Main Street), and their coffee is DELICIOUS. So is their tea (I love a good iced Jasmine Pearl on hot days) and they have an awesome selection!

The seating areas: You can sit on their couches in a separate partially closed-off section (glass windows), or you can sit at their numerous tables as well as bar style seating as you gaze out over busy Main street!

Atmosphere and Perks: They are always playing funky upbeat or relaxing music. FYI they even host Open Mics here, one for music and one for poetry, in the same month I believe (but make sure to ask for sure that it is happening and for details)! I have as yet to go and hope to go to one soon. (Cant wait!)

Location: Right across from the Town Hall and at the same intersection corner as the Library, Kurzhal's is an ideal place to stop for coffee or tea and a quick scrumptious bite to eat! I personally love their choice of cream cheese and toasted bagels- my favorite is the Scallion!- and they have deliciously soft croissants and wonderfully healthy and robust quiches!

Tips: When at the register, always make sure you ask for their hole punch card! I believe if you get 8 hole punches for each coffee or tea you get a free drink! Always make sure to tip. :)

I have been coming into kurzhals for a while now. I'm always greeted politely by all of the staff. Always friendly. Coffee is always fresh and delicious. My wife enjoys their cappuccinos. Today i finally had the pleasure to try something off their food menu. "The vecino B.E.C." WOW JUST WOW! The combination is absolutely incredible. Taste buds explosion. Food plate presentation is great as well. Over all the ambiance is fabulous. Well always be coming back for more.

I'm usually in Manhattan at work all week and don't get a chance to explore Peekskill. This cafe is excellent. The coffee is from Dark Matter and other quality roasters. Cold brew, Nitro, etc. The pastry choices are sweet and savory - great selection.
