John is a gem, and I’m so grateful my friend introduced me to him and this salon. I was nervous to go this short with my hair, but not only is John clearly experienced, he knows how to communicate around it and its very easy to just want to shut up, trust him, and let him work. But if you need it, like I did, he’ll communicate every step of the way, which he did for me and I appreciated it. He spoke about cutting hair, lines and shape, products, and seasonal changes, both poetically and intellectually, which is basically my love language. He took what I said I was looking for and customized it to my face shape, the way I go about my days, my preference (or lack thereof) for high maintenance and products, and he absolutely nailed it.

TLDR; If you’re going to go short, John’s the person to trust for the job. Tell him I sent you and you will get zero discount because he deserves every penny. I don’t think I’ll have anyone else cut my hair if I can help it.

I forget the name of the gentleman who washed my hair, but if he wants to do that every morning for me, I’d be fine with that.

I look forward, one day, to having Lydia do some massage work for me, because after talking to her about it, I trust she’s as skilled in this as John is in cutting hair.

Also, unrelated to the work, the salon’s space is gorgeous and thoughtfully decorated. Lofty and airy, but cool and industrious. I hope they find ways to even just rent out the space for other things because it’s too nice not to share it.

I'm so happy to have found Nourish after moving to Peekskill from NYC, and leaving behind my beloved, long-time East Village hair stylist.

As a newcomer to the area in 2021, it didn't take me long to figure out that this place is a gem -- a family-owned business that values authenticity, kindness, safety, attention to detail, and mentoring young stylists.

I've been in for a cut about every 8 weeks for the last 12 months, since I have thick hair in a short, textured cut that grows out fast. John, the owner, is a thoughtful, creative pro who always asks for my input and takes the time to explain what he's doing as he delivers a chic pixie cut, visit after visit. He's also generous with advice about styling and how to do at-home maintenance in between visits.

My boyfriend was a lifelong barbershop loyalist when I met him - and while his hair cut was fine, it hadn't evolved along with his personal style over the years. After some iffy at-home pandemic hair cuts, I finally convinced him to try Nourish.

Nicole and John took great care of him and helped him find a low-maintenance, high-style look that flatters and feels authentic to him. A big win!

We both appreciate the warm, welcoming, clean environment at Nourish that John, Nicole, and the whole team work hard to create. Highly recommend to anyone, especially women who rock the short hair!

Experts at hair styling and coloring for men and women. The only place i recommend. I have short curly hair and time is dedicated to understanding the shape of my face and head and what works best.

John and his team do amazing work here. They're friendly, professional, and know how to give you a haircut you're happy with every time. Can't recommend them enough! Felt very safe visiting during the pandemic, facemasks and temperature check are required.

I enjoyed my haircut with Alex. The salon is clean and has a minimalist/industrial vibe. It is conveniently located on Main St. in downtown Peekskill. He spent a full hour on my hair and even gave me some tips on products and application. I never felt as if he was asking me to purchase anything additional. Prices are average for Westchester salons ($60) and I feel it was worth the attention & service I got.

I got my hair cut with Cristina tonight- not only is she so kind, warm and welcoming but she’s amazing at what she does! The best part was the owner who was so hands on. He joined in with Cristina and the two of them cut my hair like it was an art. Beautiful atmosphere & great experience! -Tanya

I moved from the city and was looking for a great salon that understands blonde. I kept hearing about "John" from random women with great hair. Finally we connected. He's technically a master colorist, but it's his haircuts that elevate color to über-phenomenal. Now I'm that random woman with the amazing hair who gets stopped in the street all the time. If you start going there, you'll never look back and you will always remember this life-changing post. You're welcome. ;)

Staci did my bridal updo for my wedding yesterday, and I am beyond happy with the experience! I had shopped around a little in the area, but Staci's confident and relaxed attitude made me feel the best about this decision. (And on top of that, no "bride/wedding tax"!) On my wedding day, my mom, sister and I were all warmly taken care of. I had shown Staci inspiration pictures, and she talked me through different options to achieve the look and their pros and cons. At different stages of doing my hair she checked to see what I wanted, and made sure that it was perfect for my special day. The wedding process can be so stressful, but I had a great experience at Nourish. For any brides out there looking, I would highly recommend Staci and this salon!

I’ve been coming here since 2020 and getting my hair cut by Nikole. She always does a wonderful job and I always look forward to my shampoo massage from Karen!

I never write reviews! But I Loved!! I usually go elsewhere and no complaints there but i needed a cut last min. Let me tell you I will definitely return. Welcoming. Honest. Kind. Great environment. Wonderful vibe. I just had the best experience as a first time client. Staci was great!! Listened..gave her opinion..advice... super sweet. I feel like nowadays it’s so hard to find people that will just be honest, fair and give credit to a whole different business and not try and persuade you or diminish someone else’s work just to keep your business. Great place!

John and Nicole are great. I love this place, my cuts are always consistent and perfect.

The atmosphere, and location is welcoming, clean and a pleasure to go to.
