The Old Bag of Nails Pub - Newark

They offer plenty of parking and a nice outdoor patio area. The bar has Loads of seating around it. We didn’t have to wait for a table but they do have a small waiting room. There is four top tables, booths and large groups have room to sit as well. There’s lots of televisions around the bar and dining room so you won’t miss any of the game. The mushroom appetizer is plenty for the whole table and absolutely delicious. I loved the salmon and veggie kabobs as well. The fish sandwich is huge! My husband loved it but could only eat half of it. The restaurant was clean, tables are spaced apart so seating is comfortable. Our waitress was great and checked back often to make sure we were happy with everything. We will be back!

The food was very hot. It was one of the hottest meals in a while. Delicious 😋 we will definitely go back.

We always have a great dining experience here. The food is delicious. I love the mussels and shrimp. So good! The sad part is that sometimes there aren’t enough servers. Unfortunately, this seems to be a universal problem for many restaurants now. We are very appreciative of the staff because we’ve seen how hard they work to maintain normalcy.

Fish Tacos, Beer Battered fish and Fish and Shrimp were all delicious.

Food was Excellent! Our server was not the greatest however the food is Outstanding!

Dish size was more than enough. Fish and chips, fish tacos were great. Kids got free pudding as a desert.

Met a friend of mine for lunch today around 11:30 am. It was a really nice experience. The waitress we had was Christine who was fantastic. Friendly, funny and fast. I had the mussels and shrimp which was awesome! If you haven't been out for awhile definitely go to the Bag of Nails. Take time to say Hello to Christine while in there. 😁
Stopped in today for an early dinner. 3/20/2024. Had the fish and chips. Was seated promptly and had a fantastic server by the name of Kaylee! She was professional...knowledgeable and friendly! If you stop in be sure to ask for Kaylee for excellent service with a smile!👍

My 2 longtime best friends got together with me and it had been literally a couple years since we had seen each other! We stayed 3 plus hours talking and laughing. Yhe waitress was great! The food was great too! We'll go there again and again!

Fantastic food. We had a very large party with 7 kids. We was seated in the large group area. The waitress taking care of us was amazing, kind, quick, funny and very patient. Many separate checks and left her over $100 tip. Well worth the stop!

My birthday lunch with my brother. It was delicious! The French Dip is on target and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was great. She was friendly and professional! Thank you!

When I am in the mood for seafood, this is where I go. The food is always fresh and hot. The service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere was fun with lots of sports on the TVs and a huge bar.

Update from my last post. The tables have been refinished and are no longer sticky! I will be coming back more regularly now, the staff has always been friendly and the food is exceptional. It just bothered me about the tables always being sticky before. But that is no longer an issue, Stop in and enjoy the best fish and chips around!

I ordered the Philly cheese steak with everything on it and steak fries awesome.
Everything was hot and delicious. I recommend ordering it for first-timers.

This was by far the best old bag of nails experience I've had in a long time. Great pieces of fish, bartender was a good guy who gave good service. Place was clean on the inside.
