Back again the April in our 38 Renegade. Sites are limited for bigger rigs so make reservations. Monday, April 8th and the park is full. We were passing thru and could only find one site, #8, that was even close to fitting us. Very tight fit with a jeep beside us. But, very pretty location. Electric is 30A & no water connection. Water is available at several spigots around the park. There is a central dump. Our site is located at a Y, so the opening allows for 100mbs of Starlink. AT&T service is 4 bars, 20lbs but when streaming it continually stutters (bandwidth limit?) except on VPN which hides the streaming. Easier to deploy Starlink. There are several trails here. Come prepared. Roads in/out are muddy after rains and they have warning signs. Nearby Mountainair has very limited supplies.

Fantastic park. Will definitely be back. Quiet and secluded park. Lots of hiking trails. Be aware there is no water at each site. 2 places to fill up. So beautiful

Can’t ask for a better, clean and quiet place in the mountain that close to ABQ with about 7/8 electric sites (#6 and 7 are the best). The drinking water spigots are also around the campsite with couple of easy to moderate hiking trails.
T-Mobile cell service works great here and they even provide a dump station on your way out where majority of NM state parks don’t have, our first visit here but definitely will come back

We camped in space #4 for 5 days. This spot is dry but has an amazing view. We saw black squirrels with silver tails and wild turkeys from the campsite in addition to many bird species. I hiked the outer loop trail and saw two deer within a half mile of our campsite. The park was very clean and the camp host was very friendly and helpful.

Loved the stay at the Park. Quick drive from our home in Belen. Camp hosts were awesome. We got some snow on our visit. The kids enjoyed exploring the trails. Will definitely be coming back.

Dates of stay 1-3 Aug 19: Very well-kept campground. You can tell the camp hosts take pride in the park. Several trails to hike on, some camp spots are close to each other most are not. No services available in the town of Manzano. Take the easy 8 mile trip to the Quarai Mission Ruins, very interesting!!! Gathering wood not allowed in park. Bring some with you or take a trip down the forest road off to the right (FR 253) as you enter the road to the park...that road will take you to Cibola National Forest...a lot of wood to be had. Full cell phone coverage (have Verizon). All water spigots were locked minus the one at the dump station.

This NM state park is beautiful - at 7200' elevation it's pretty cool in summer. Very dog friendly with very helpful camp hosts. We stayed in site 31 in a Class A Motorhome where we had just enough sun for our solar panels. There are 7 first-come sites in the loop up front but they're mostly very shady. Only site 11 of the first-come sites has electricity. All other electic sites are reservation only and in the summer you'll want to reserve months in advance. It's a very popular place. There's a fantastic group site for up to 50 people & about 10 parking spaces that was always open. Our site was in a small loop past the group site with 7 boondocking sites. I highly recommend.

Update summer 2023 - Things are very different now. We've been here a week but haven't seen a Camp Host. Par for the course at other state parks this year. The sites in the park have changed because a few sites were made into day use sites. The best, most level sites were chosen for Day Use. The worst offenders that could fit a car at most were kept for reservations! What beaurocrat authorized this? All the sites are now Reservation Only sites. The office where we bought our first State Park Pass is closed. They all are. Everything is done online now. The only people to get help when you need it are the Rangers. And they're great. We're lucky to have them! It's way more crowded than before the Pandemic.

The facilities were very well maintained and it was beautiful. Just bring something to repel the flies, they were awful.

I have been to some lovely state parks and they all have their charm, but this was by far the most well maintained state park I have stayed at. I would venture to say that the women's vault toilets here are the cleanest in the state. The host made his presence known just enough to make you feel safe but not enough to bother you. I plan on returning here many times.

We had a wonderful experience with our new trailer on our maiden voyage. Park is nicely groomed with a lot of pines.

Beautiful park! So clean and wonderfully spaced out spots. This was the first camping we had done since moving to NM and it was magical! The facilities were the cleanest I've ever seen in a campground. We will definitely be back!!
