Be sure to stop in before visiting the ruins for the latest information. They also have clean flush toilets. Pics from Abo National Monument

This was a day trip. We are always looking for adventures that we can do in one day. These ruins didn't disappoint. The park was closed today but we were able to walk the grounds and through the ruins. They were hauntingly beautiful.

Nice ranger station. Small and packed with information and a good short film. Convenient pit stop in a relatively remote area!

What a beautiful place of unlearned history. Exploring the dynamic of power over native tribes for the benefit of the Spanish and the Catholic Church should be made more a part of history taught.

VERY NICE AND SWEET people and very knowledgeable on the ribs and missions and sites of the surrounding area.... Lots of helpful pamphlets, maps, and things to help you with your own personal little tour of the area... There is a grocery store right next door too.... You can grab the things to have a picnic and drinks to make a days of it....

Compact, but informative center with museum and giftshop. This location provides overview and details from the three disparate historic sites located north, west, and south of Mountainair.

The visitor center itself in the town of Mountainair was full of artifacts and invaluable historical information on what took place here 400 years ago. The ruins themselves, 3 locations not far down the high way from the visitor center, were stunning. We had underestimated this place and were taken back by how large and beautiful the ruin structures were. Especially the quarai ruins which I've included pictures of.

Good place to stop and get helpful information when visiting the Missions. The visitor center is located on a nice square. There are also some very interesting murals near by.

Very friendly people there to help you. There are three units to Salinas Pueblo missions National Monument. All of them are interesting in their own right but together they show a piece of History that is often forgotten. Be sure to ask them about the lady in blue.

My Kids and I went and saw the Quarai and Abo missions last summer and had such a fun time! It was so interesting seeing those ruins and learning the history behind them. We stopped here at the Visitor Center, which was really cool. They had a little theater room with a video playing talking about the missions and then had a little museum as well. The woman running the place was so friendly and was great with my kids as well. Everything here and at all three mission locations are free, which is amazing! I highly recommend seeing them.
