Shaffer Restaurant (CAFE)

We were a group of about 20 people. We had called ahead to make them aware of the number of people and approximate time of arrival. They were well prepared for us. We didn't have to wait for our orders to be taken or the food to arrive. The food was delicious! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The owner even gave us the history of this historic place. Definitely recommend!

Visited the Salinas Pueblo/Mission and had lunch here. Friendly staff, good food and prices! We had breakfast and burger.

We came right at closing on a weekday. They were so gracious to stay and make us food. We had the best brisket with green chili burritos ever. So friendly and informative. We will be back!

Great little Dining Room/Cafe in Mountainair. Located inside the historic Shaffer Hotel. The inside of the cafe has an amazing painted ceiling and a lot of photography and paintings featuring New Mexico or New Mexican artists. There is a hotel adjacent and an art gallery as well. The rock fence built by Pop Shaffer is really cool to check after you’ve had your meal.

Food is tasty and service is fast!

I am so glad to see the Shaffer back in business! Had a good meal and enjoyed the colorful art of Pop Shaffer in the friendly little town of Mountainair.

Great food, great service. Atmosphere you will never forget. Ed has done a remarkable job restoring a piece of New Mexico history.

Not very busy and the food was great. Went for dinner and got the brisket burrito and a burger. They carry coke zero which is a plus. Cant wait to try more items

The burgers are tremendous! Taste like an old-time classic burger. Pies also good. Friendly wait staff!
