Unexpected joy... when you drive in the middle of nowhere, you find a cozy place with good food made from scratch, and friendly staff, that is a win win.

Our fries were made from fresh potatoes, no precut or pre frozen. Food was simple and delicious.

Don't go there in a rush, food made from the heart takes time.

The sign says it all, It's all good!!!

This is the kind of place you wish you'd find in every small town that you pass through on your way to your major destination. Mountainaire is on the way to higher elevation towns and is only an hour from Albuquerque. Alpine Alley is a local gathering place with a comfy couch and tables, a fully-equipped coffee house, a breakfast and lunch restaurant, and a take out cafe with homemade bakery items that will satisfy your innermost cravings. They sell out quickly though - when I arrived around 10am, there was only one blueberry muffin left. I had it heated with butter and it was heavenly. The espresso was perfect as well. The owner is friendly and funny and seemed to know every patron that came through the door. Of course.

I was driving a back route to Las Vegas, New Mexico, that took me through this mountain town and several others. My journey was saved by my 20 minute stop here. I hope yours is, too.

Love this place. Owner was server and so nice. Coffee served in huge mugs and delicious. Full coffee bar! Breakfast burrito, Christmas style is amazing! Prices were really reasonable too! Loved all of the cool rodeo stuff too! (The owner’s btw!). We loved everything about it!

It is such a privilege to know small town diners with AMAZING SERVICE still exist in New Mexico. Faye is the most amazing hostess I have met in the whole state and walking into her restaurant makes you feel like you are walking into her living room. !

The food is huge delicious portions for prices that haven't been seen in 5 to 10 years.

If you miss out here you are missing on a state treasure !!!

Cute road side diner/cafe with friendly people. It was cozy inside with loads of art and Knicknacks for sale

I had the club sandwich and fries. The sandwich was huge (!) (I probably won’t eat dinner now) and very tasty. The fries were fresh cut and fries to just the right crispness.

Great food, including options for vegetarians. Very fair prices. Typical friendly and helpful New Mexico service.

Wonderfully quirky decorations reflect the owners' other passions (most notably horses). And if they're not too busy, chat up the down-to-earth, charming owners themselves.

In my opinion this is a wonderful restaurant. I have been here twice when driving thru town. The food is terrific, Chai is tasty and the atmosphere rustic and relaxing. It is not a fast food place but well worth the minimal wait. You can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Excellent sandwiches. Right now I recommend the Reuben, Hot Pastrami, Alpine Cheesesteak. Guess I'll have to work my way through the menu! A friendly, pleasant place to enjoy a good meal!

Really fun place. Great service, great food, great prices. If it's busy, probably not the best place for a super quick bite. Artwork for sale and interesting things to look at while you wait, so it's perfect for a leisurely meal. Bathroom so clean I had to take a picture!

Our nine man crew came into town and Faye made sure we were always fed and that our needs were taken care of. The breakfast burritos are very hearty and amazing. I would recommend 100%.

This is a warm and friendly cafe. The coffee and sandwiches are very good. The theme is western, rodeo, cowgirl. And the mistress is a real cowgirl. There are several tables, counter space, and some cozy corner seating. Open Tuesday through Sunday, mornings till 3 in the afternoon. A great place where locals gather, and visitors to Mountainair can get breakfast or lunch.

We had a wonderful breakfast. I had their waffles with a side of bacon, fresh butter and homemade syrup. My husband had a breakfast burrito smothered in green chili. He ate every bite! Great family friendly environment.

Our large fire crew came out from Colorado, and Faye and her team always worked super hard to make sure we were all well-fed and happy! Food was amazing at a great price, service was 10/10, and the atmosphere was awesome—wish I could stay and enjoy the reading nook!
