Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa

We left the Ritz in Tahoe early because the Ritz service was not like it use to be. Arriving at the Renaissance, the managers and clerks were attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our daughter and son who were injured! They worked a hard to give us connecting rooms so we can sleep comfortably and be close to our children if they needed help! They went of their way to fill up Ice bags and have extra ones ready at the desk if we needed it! The ordered a wheelchair for her! The clerks were informative in the morning so I could get breakfast nearby and close to a laundromat! Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The valet service was amazing and I felt so honored how attentive and accommodating they were! They went above the expectations I had for them! The hotel had plenty for kids and families to do at night too! Loved this hotel and wish for the money we paid at the Ritz - we had the same experience as we did at the Renaissance!

My husband and I had the privilege of having our wedding reception here, and it was absolutely perfect, amazing, and affordable! So if you're looking for a great venue, this is your place!
Additionally, we got to stay two nights in this wonderful place and it was delightful! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are very quiet and comfortable, and it's very dog friendly as well! This hotel is wonderful in general, but especially if you're looking for something a little more upscale but close to everything. Give them a shot, you'll be happy you did!

This was a great choice and we have loved staying here. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, rooms were nice and comfortable. Great selection of restaurants and bars within the property and close by as well. Room service was prompt and delicious, and views of the river and mountains from the room was great. If you are looking for a place that doesn’t smell like smoke and slot machines making noise all the time, this is the place to go. The have a nice bar, lots of art all over, view of the river on the patio, and a Bocce Ball court that is fun for all ages. The valets are the best. They really provide great for a welcoming experience. They will even warm your car up for you on the cold mornings. But, there is one thing I want to call out to help them improve on. The concierge lounge was weak. The had nothing out for happy hour or even cookies that you come to expect in the evening.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and the restaurant rocks. I’ve eaten here many times and I totally recommend this mediterranean restaurant as 5+ stars the Chef is the best. I kid my wife of a 20 course breakfast 19 of 20 being their olives and my 20th is their beautiful rendition of their chicken fried steak with a guy from Kansas and eaten many great chicken fried steaks this place is the best in Reno!!!!!!!!

I stayed at this hotel on 6 January 2026 - the reservation was for a single night but as a snowstorm came through, all roads out of Reno were closed. The hotel staff was amazing in extending my reservation for an additional night and making my stay absolutely wonderful . The hotel is conveniently located downtown and near Trader Joe's, CVS, and various other 'necessary' shopping for out-of-towners. In addition, the hotel is located by the Truckee River and the bar patio has a lovely area (when it isn't snowing) to enjoy a lovely evening of sundowners.
The entire hotel staff, that I worked with, including - Mel (valet - who scraped ice/snow from the windscreen & warmed my car, David & Chloe at the front reception desk, Rory at the coffee bar (who makes an incredible flat white coffee) and John the maintenance engineer, were SO amazingly helpful, gracious, and accommodating - I can wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend staying at this facility when in Reno.

My experience here was exciting experience from there self made dog tags to there gourmet resturant. And there valet attendant Mel made me feel comfortable and welcome by showing me all i needed to get the full renassaince experience. I highly recommend this place for your trip to reno!

Lovely place to meet for drinks or to collaborate on projects! They have a fantastic atmosphere with open seating and fire pits which are perfect for autumn and winter get togethers as well as all sorts of dining and beverage options! I haven't stayed the night so I can't say if the rooms are good or not, but given the rest of the experience I would imagine they're just as top notch as everything else!

Mel is awesome!!! Chloe and Daniel at the front desk were amazing!!! Love all of the art and decor! Robbie Loose is super talented

I have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties and this was one of the better ones. My room was clean when I arrived and the hotel staff was very helpful. The common spaces on the hotel were clean and I enjoyed my stay.

Cute room with a trout on the ceiling. Interesting. Rooms were nice n clean . However, no way to crack a window for some fresh air was my only complaint. Also it was a shower only room.

I went for Darkshot coffee - stayed to "office" at the bar. Delicious food!! Highly recommend the Avocado toast, switch out cheese and egg, add smoked salmon for yum! Genuinely nice staff, great art, clean, waaaaay better than smelly Starbucks or casinos. Outside seating and lounge seating available in addition to dining. Great respite and refuel. Thank you

We love the Renaissance and stay here every time we visit Reno! Both the hotel and on-site restaurant (The Shore Room) are dog friendly. There is a Bocce restaurant/bar also onsite which was fun. The rooms are very comfortable and the decor trendy. Great views from the rooms and rooftop pool of downtown. The hotel is in a great location as well... Across the street from the car museum, right on the river, and walking distance to the casinos. The only issue we had during our stay was on the last night our air conditioner wasn't working properly🥵

Great place, nice staff, cozy rooms, and the bocce ball is so fun. This place is a short walk from downtown where all the excitement happens, but also far enough where you don't have to worry about anything or anyone when it's time to relax.

Had brunch here today it was fabulous! Sat outside on the river with a wonderful breeze
And umbrellas overhead. Had amazing food (chilaquiles) that was on point. Our server, Shauna, was insanely amazing!!! Can’t wait to return. Thanks for being so wonderful.

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Excellent bar room for playing games . Awesome centralized location with many shops and restaurants within walking distance.

This spa is fabulous! The spa staff is incredible and kind- and very knowledgeable about products. Everyone was very kind friendly and helpful- when you get a service you also get access to the entire spa including the sauna, reflection room, pool, and jacuzzi. Ginger (red head) is a fabulous manager and was very helpful. Couldn’t recommend a place more!

Mel, our bell service helped us and was a pleasure to talk with, gave us relevant advice and he is definitely a keeper! Service was helpful and the rooms were clean

First off, I haven’t encountered such a great staff in quite some time. They definitely go above and beyond, especially for Marriott members. I was upgraded to the penthouse suite for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

The executive lounge offers snacks and beverages, as well as breakfast during the week, for Platinum and up. On the weekend, we were given breakfast vouchers for The Shore Restaurant, located near the lobby. They have some phenomenal breakfast options!

Overall, this hotel is centrally located, quiet and clean. This is now my definitive choice, for a stay in the Reno area. Hope to return soon!
