Great place but the food was horrible. Responding to the owner, there was 4 of us in our party and we all ordered the fajitas we thought they were going to come out sizzling hot but instead it was warm and runny like gravy. But your staff was awesome 👌 to us.

I love this place and they make one of the best house Margaritas in Reno. Update I've been there five times now absolutely consistent and authentic

This place was great! Food was delicious, servers were great, friendly and fun! The atmosphere was exactly what we were looming for to watch football and enjoy great food/drinks!
We order the chorizo breakfast burrito and machaca. Bloody Mary was delicious!

Great food and great atmosphere. We went for a mid afternoon lunch and were almost the only people there. I'd definitely go back.

So, I've been eating at El Adobe off and on for about 20 years. I recently went back after a long hiatus. One thing you can say about this restaurant is that it is consistent. The food and drink have all the pluses and minuses that I remember.

For me, the sine qua non of Mexican food is a chile relleno. What could be more delicious? On this score El Adobe is an honorable contender. A delicious poblano chile stuffed with a copious (not gluttonous) amount of cheese and a nice ranchera sauce. I might have preferred a spicier sauce, but still quite delicious. Nicely battered, but not overly so. The chile is well cooked, so if you like your chile with snap, beware. But again, in my opinion, one of the better chile rellenos in town.

Salsas are quite interesting. The red is smooth, not very hot, and contains a cold spice that I can't identify and which I have mixed feelings on. It makes for a very unique tasting red salsa, but do I like it? Well, ok, but I've had more traditional red salsas that I'd like better (how about a smokey fire roasted sauce?). However, any salsa recriminations disappear with the green salsa. I could drink this stuff by the gallon. Just delicious.

Guess I have to talk about the chips that come complementary with the salsa (rare these days, thank you, El Adobe!). Pretty sure that they're homemade, but often definitely not right out of the fryer and a bit thick for an old guy with bad teeth. However, that didn't stop me from eating a whole basket. That frigging green salsa would be good on shoe leather.

Drinks, you ask. For as long as I've been going to El Adobe, they make the best (and strongest) house Margarita in Reno/Sparks. I definitely suggest a designated driver if you intend to imbibe.

The enchiladas and carnitas are good, but unfortunately, the rice and beans are the definition of bland. Filling and inoffensive, but nothing to write home about.

The staff and owners are exemplary. They are really glad to see you and they take pride in their jobs. They're never too busy to stop and say hello.

Is El Adobe the best Mexican restaurant you'll ever have the chance to go to? No, it's not, but if you want good Mexican food and superior drinks in Northern Nevada, you should have El Adobe on your list

I’ve gone here many times and even tonight, they’ve never disappointed me. Amazing food and staff are nice (they might not smile) but they’re nice and they take care of you and are always checking if you need more coffee, chips, or anything else.

Love this place! Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Reno. Service is always great and the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The chicken fajitas are my favorite. And the flavored margaritas are so delicious! The fried ice cream is one of my favorite desserts here !

From out of town and was looking for some pick me up food and found this lovely gem. We ordered soup. Boyfriend ordered maneudo and I order bowl de Birria. Boyfriend LOVED his but I was too hungover to eat. However, I took it to go and was able to eat it when we got back to the hotel and let me just say, IT WAS AMAZING! Now I’m back in California and cannot find anything that compares. Can not WAIT to get back! Thanks so much for the great service and amazing food.

We went for our first time on Natalia's night. Everything was delicious, and we'll be back. This business supports many charities. The shredded beef chimichanga was asked with flavor.

I ordered the birria it was wonderful. I read a review that stated it was dry and I completely disagree. The margaritas are also fantastic. There is outdoor seating and the service is great!

This family owned Reno fixture makes a casual week night out into a ton of fun! I prefer Raul's bar which is the small bar between the restaurant and the sports bar. Just discovered the Chuy's tacos, vegetarian and ridiculously good 😋

Amazing!! El Adobe Cafe has been my go-to spot for 6 years and they're a family business that has blessed the area since the year 2000. Their posole es muy delicioso and their micheladas are made with love and absolute heaven on a toasty day! The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming and everyone who works here is a lovely person, truly here to spread joy with their excellent sense of humour, their kindness, and of course their warming, filling, flavorful food! If you have yet to visit El Adobe Cafe, you are missing out- and once you go- you can't live without it! If you're into sports, they've got a great big bar area where the bartender is very knowledgeable about ball and they put the games on all the TV and cheer with you! Great for GameDay , solo, date night, friendly get together, whatever the occasion- El Adobe Cafe es perfecto

The food was amazing. Husband had the shredded chicken Chimichanga & I had the Shrimp plate off the House Special menu. I haven’t had good Mexican food @ a restaurant in a long time. We will for sure be making this our go to.

This place is amazing!! Service is great, food is even better!! No American queso here, if you know what I mean! Can't get a better Chicken mole enchiladas anywhere else! Loved it.
