Joe Theismann's Restaurant

The food has always been reasonably priced and quite tasty. Service is always excellent. Emily did a fantastic job serving us this time around. I would definitely recommend their current mousse cake, so rich, creamy and decadent. I like that the menu changes periodically as well.

We like this place. It’s got good food at reasonable prices for Alexandria. Last time I got the bacon cheeseburger. I ordered it medium rare and it came properly prepared. We highly recommend the onion rings (see photo). They’re big chunky onion rings, which is exactly how I like it. The chocolate moose cake was rich and delicious.

A friend wanted a good steak and we opted for this restaurant because they were open until 11p (Wednesday night). Soooo glad we did. Jennifer M. was by far one of the best servers I have experienced. She answered all of our questions thoroughly and honestly. She also gave great recommendations. We had the crab dip for an appetizer. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. He had the aged steak with potatoes and could not stop raving about how good the steak was. The drinks were good and food was phenomenal!!! Not one complaint or grievance about our experience!!! Jennifer even gave us a birthday dessert on the house. Will definitely be returning!!

We really enjoyed dining at this restaurant! The food was great! We ordered a bunch of different items and no one was disappointed in their selection. This can be a bit on the pricey side, but it is a great place to check out! I will say that the desserts are not as good as the dinner.

Been wanting to get here for years. Heard great things and finally got across the Atlantic to Washington.
Managed to get there tonight and it was so worth it.
The staff were very helpful. Very friendly.
The food was awesome. Full of flavour. Fresh. Hot. Spot on!
We have found the food and drink in the USA quite expensive so far but Theismanns place is very reasonable for the amount you get and the quality.
The bar has a great atmosphere, clean, tidy, and very well presented.

Came here for our anniversary dinner...and wow! I couldn't be more obsessed with the food. We each ordered the NY strip steak and it was cooked to perfection, the green beans tasted like they were plucked fresh from the garden! And for our appetizer...we had the big cheesy garlic bread...the marinara was on point and the cheese pull..just wow! Definitely make this place a stop if you are visiting Alexandria! You will not be disappointed!! Also the manager came and spoke to us to see how our meal was and after finding out it was our anniversary the server came out and offered free dessert! I wish I lived closer, this place would be my go to! Faysel our server was amazing!

The food was so delicious. The first time I was coming to your restaurant. I attended a meeting with the University of Phoenix DMV Alumni Leadership Council. We had to switch our seating to accommodate a larger than-anticipated group. You did it without an issue or concern. When I was ready to leave because my meter ran out, I asked for a take-home box. The witness took longer than I anticipated. Also, two of us ordered the steak, and our orders were switched. He ordered medium rare, and I ordered well done.

I wish the meters outside the restaurant did expire after 3 hours. After all, I got there early because I traveled from CCBC at the Catonsville Campus in Maryland, and I was an hour early. I had to leave the function before everyone else because it required me to relocate my vehicle because of the maximum time.

Your venue is friendly, clean, and easy to find. However, if coming to meet up with friends, I would recommend parking in the garage, using public transportation, or a ride-share because of the meters outside the venue limitation on time.

You will not be disappointed with the food. Just tasty!

Good happy hour items... fish & hips were good, the smash burger was awesome & the club sandwich was very filling. I think the best thing was the wings in Joe's Buffalo Sauce. Not too hot & not too tangy!

Yesterday, while looking for a place to eat lunch Google Map, based on past reviews I have made and restaurants I have visited, suggested Joe Theismann’s Restaurant. As it was near King Street Metro Station, which was the direction I has heading in, I decided to try it out.
It wasn’t busy, it was noon, and I was able to pick my own table.
The place was clean if a tad loud due to the music and the many TVs which were on. But the staff was friendly and fast. I ordered a Port City Porter and a Corned Beef Reuben which came with fries. And a small pickle spear.
If you check out the photos you’ll see just how good the food looked and it tasted just as good.
I would suggest visiting the restaurant during noon. Evenings may be busy. Remember the location is right next to the Metro AND Amtrak stations, a major hub for many of the buses, and in the middle of a bunch of major hotels. Tourists coming back from visiting DC or Old Town Alexandria, employees returning from work, and just people wanting to have a good time are going to pour into this restaurant. So if you do plan to have dinner here try to reserve a table. Because it WILL be busy.

Had a wonderful night in Alexandria and decided to have lunch at Joe Theismann’s this was my second time here and this restaurant definitely does not disappoint. The food was delicious 🤤 so good. I got the Cubano sandwich with fries and my husband got the short rib grilled cheese with tomato soup. We also got a side of the sweet potato totes with braised beef, slaw and pickled onion wow such a great combination I would never have thought of this It was excellent. I don’t even like tomato soup but this was so good. We also got mimosa flights with 4 different mimosa options this was very refreshing and great blends of fruit and berries in each. The atmosphere is always quiet and quaint perfect for relaxing brunch or lunch. The menu altogether is just great and I can’t wait to try more. The staff was very polite and attentive this was a great way to start my Saturday.

Joe Theismann's Restaurant was amazing! We were in Old Alexandria on vacation and stopped in for dinner. Everything was surprisingly well priced and amazing. My daughter and I got the filet mignon and we both loved it. One of the best that I have ever had. The staff was great and I cannot wait to go back. As a life long Redskins fan, the only thing that was missing, was seeing the legend, Joe Theismann himself. This is his only restaurant and I hear he comes in often.

Stopped in to get a burger to cheer myself up after a frustrating day. I am a big Redskins fan and the place did not disappoint. Great Russian dressing on my burger and service was fast. Fair pricing and cool atmosphere. Check it out.

We had a surprise birthday party here and it was amazing! The event staff was absolutely incredible. The space was really nice and they let us bring in a lot of stuff ahead of time to decorate it. The food was AMAZING! Honestly, waaaay better than what I was expecting. Absolutely delicious. The management was super patient with us and helped us a lot. The catering staff were super nice too and did a fantastic job. Absolutely phenomenal!

Food was great. Our server Josh was terrific. Very friendly and helpful. The manager Anna was checking on all the tables to make sure everything was going well. This is such a great restaurant. Ask for Josh!

I am there once a year and we always eat at least one meal at Theismann's. The food is great -- I highly recommend the Reuben if you're up for a sandwich. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. See you again next May!

Would definitely go back to try something else. For an app we got the garlic cheese bread and it was fantastic. I had an HBC Burger and enjoyed it with fries. The beer and wine list is pretty extensive, something for everybody. I also ordered an Old Fashioned, the specialty one. It was pretty basic with Makers, over sweet and watery. Would stick with beer and wine.

Was exhausted from a trip and really didn't expect much to be fair. I was pleasantly surprised! Great service, decent prices and great food made correctly! The cheese pull apart bread was better than I could of even imagined.

It was a dreary afternoon and I happened to be in the area and saw on the corner Joe Theismann’s, a salvation from the rain. I decided to give it a try. The hostess was exceptionally nice and we were seated immediately. The menu is pretty small but the beer menu is a bit larger. Everything on the menu seems to be carefully chosen. The reuben was very good and meaty. Brunch runs until 3pm and I got the honey chicken biscuit with smashed potatoes. The buffalo chicken sandwich is also excellent. The chocolate cake is worth a try and large enough to share, would highly recommend.

Staff is great and the food was delicious. Nice and warm on a slightly chilly day. Husband had the Korean BBQ wings and said they were awesome.

Grabbed lunch at Joe Theismann’s since it was close to our hotel. My husband had a burger cooked to order and I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese…SO GOOD! Great flavor and the fries were excellent, as well.
