The Compass Tavern

Stopped in before going to the Hanover Theater for a bite to eat. We were pleasantly surprised by the place. It was early in the evening around 4:30pm. We ordered the nachos to start and We both got the Jack Daniels steak tip special. Everything was really good, especially the nachos. I would recommend this place.

The tomato and mozzarella pizza was a little soggy but still tasty. Drinks were nice on the spot. The spinach and cheese artichoke dip was the highlight of the night.
Also they have a cool offer of 2 for 1 on the appetizers ( no seafood though ).
Here after a year and the food is still epic!
Tried their new veggie wrap and it was amazing !

The bar pizza was nice.. wasn't greasy. The location was ideal. Only because it's in the same parking lot as my ink therapy joint.... (Tattoo). After sitting the the chair for 3 hrs. Pizza and mozzarella sticks is the best thing to eat. It's comfort food for me, when getting a tattoo....

Bartender was quick, clean, respectful. The bar itself was huge. With areas that open up to a small group.... it's so cute....

Lindsay was our waitress, and she is just the sweetest and is awesome! They had live music for hours and had a dance floor open at 10pm on Friday, when we were here. It was a nice layout, really nice ambience, and their appetizers were delicious. I would like to come back if I could

Been waiting to come here for a while. I had a groupon to use and would definitely return again. I had the seafood risotto and my friend had the burger special. The drinks are also well made and strong! Plenty of parking next to the restaurant.

Found this place while waiting for my train at Union station in Worcester. This was a great surprise. The place and staff are excellent. The food looked amazing but I didn't order anything just got drinks, which were perfectly made. Service was fast as well. They were asking if you wanted another drink before you finished, this is perfect service to me. Only a 3 minute walk to the train station. Best place to waste time before jumping on a train of bus out of town

Visited there for late night dinner at 10pm. Had a great prime rib king size dinner with baked potatoes and broccoli. Service was good.

Nice, large dive bar feel with booths and bar space. Solid selection of beers on tap. Food was prepared well. Prices are right for the location, proximity to Polar Park and friendly employees.

Delicious good. The night we went, they were very short staffed but they handled it graciously and the food and drinks were amazing enough to make up for the wait. The outdoor seating was perfect for a safe dining experience on a beautiful night in Worcester. I definitely recommend the Compass Tavern for a great meal on a night out!

Had a great time sat outside on the terrace. Service was great waitress was attentive and timely. My friends and I will definitely go back and they had a few vegan options which was great. Veggie wrap sweet potato fries were amazing. My friends enjoyed the fried pickles and zucchini fries 😋. Definitely will go again. A must try place oh and for all you meat eaters the prime rib was delicious and affordable pricing.

Finally tried this place and was not disappointed. Loved the food, atmosphere and service. I got a nice big bowl of chilli with cheese on top served with tortilla chips, a side salad with lots of crisp veges and he got a nice well done queen cut prime rib in a nice flavorful sauce with rice pilaf and fries on the side. A water and pineapple juice to drink all for 32 plus tip. We will definitely be returning here. Very happy we tried this place.

Went with a group with out reservations. They set up a big table for us with out issue. The food was great. The drinks where great and the service was awesome. Live music was good to. Not to loud so you could still have conversations. The club side was a little unorganized and. Not ready till late. But once it was up and running, it was good. Overall a great place. Off street parking, free parking as well.

The bartender/server was kind and attentive. The margarita flight was awesome. The buffalo dip, burger, and parm truffle fries were delicious. My friend did not like the way her chicken was cooked and the manager had it fixed easily and promptly.

Fair pricing with great food. Cheeseburger was nice and meaty and cooked just how I asked. Waiting staff was always nearby and regularly checked to see if we needed our drinks refilled or anything. The owners also allow occasional car meets in their parking lot which is how I heard of this place. Nice establishment and they even had a nice outdoor dining spot if that's what you desired

Sports bar with delicious food. Being vegetarian, I ordered pizza and it was yummy.

Awesome place to grab a bite to eat. I had the Asian salmon which I highly recommend it was to die for! And I also tried the fish and chips and they had a special with clam chowder for like $2 extra and that was delicious. My husband always gets the steak and he devours it. We also tried the mozzarella balls and of course amazing!

Their food is amazing and their drink selection is pretty wide. It's definitely a "hip" place. It's suitable for a group of friends but I wouldn't say it's a "family restaurant"
They do have a sort of dance "club" area, but we didn't stop over there as it was dead when we left around 10 pm on a Saturday.

This bar has a college graduate vibe. It gets packed very quickly. So far I've gone three times and people are nothing but nice. I met a lot of cool people while going there. Drinks can either be strong or weak depending on who makes it.

The Compass Tavern is a terrific location, and we will be back! We’re a group of musicians from Boston that were working at the Hanover Theatre last Wednesday, and needed a place to go after the show. I chose The Compass Tavern because they had a promising menu and a huge parking lot. We had a late night reservation, and our plans changed so that we arrived a half an hour early, and our table was already awaiting us. Then our party of 10 grew when an additional 5 people showed up, and Amy our server immediately set us up at a different, larger table to accommodate. Amy is nothing short of a modern day hero—we can’t thank her enough! Service was quick, there wasn’t a single mistake, and everyone had a terrific time. This will likely become our go-to spot when we’re performing in Worcester! Thanks a million, Amy. Somebody give her a raise, please!

I love this place and the atmosphere, BUT on a Thursday night they had 2 bartenders which was understandable!! I understand being understaffed, but the fact that I talked to two barbacks and one of them talked to the bartender.. that blond bartender SHOOK her head at us before I can even pay or give a tip I usually do. That was plain rude and a little disrespectful bc I couldn’t even give the appreciation I usually do when getting my drinks at clubs. LOL I wished it was a joke but DAMN, she was rude!
