Phenomenal food and service. We've been visiting Lydia Mountain several times a year since 2017, but somehow never visited this gem until this year. We tried several items off the menu and everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Just had a jaw-dropping experience at Bear Appettie, part of Lydia Mountain Lodge, and I'm ready to spill the beans (or should I say bear claws?)!

First off, let's talk about the grub – fresh, flavorful, and fancier than a bear in a bowtie. The chef here is clearly a culinary wizard. My taste buds did a happy dance with every bite, and I'm not exaggerating – these meals are next-level delicious. 🍽🐻

Now, let's discuss the staff. Attentive? Kind? These folks redefine hospitality. They've got the friendliness game down to an art form. It's like being served by a squad of gourmet teddy bears (but, you know, the ones who bring you your food instead of stealing your picnic basket).

And the views, oh my stars! Breathtaking doesn't even cut it. It's like dining in the lap of nature with a side of "Am I in a postcard right now?" The atmosphere is cozy, and you can feel the mountain magic in every corner.

In a world where dining experiences are as common as bears at a honey buffet, Bear Appettie stands out like a grizzly at a poodle party. 10/10, would recommend for a taste of mountain bliss.

This place exceeded my expectations. We went for breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious. They have the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. The coffee
was perfect. The views are incredible and our waitress was so nice and welcoming. I was visiting from Texas and I'm so glad we found this hidden gem through a Google search. It's now my new favorite restaurant in Virginia. BONUS: They have a small playground for kids and some farm animals that can be appreciated from the playground. My toddler definitely loved it. We'll be coming back on our next visit.

I have visited lydia mountain several times over the past few years and always wanted to stop and get this restaurant to try. I finally decided to come by for breakfast. I’m so glad I did. The staff was super friendly. I chose a table outside, and the views were amazing. I ordered the three bearrrs which I highly recommend if you have a big appetite. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend you give this place a try if you’re in the area.

I’m a sewist for Pad A Cheek, the owners, Howard and Karen Moore took their employees to Lydia Mountain Restaurant for a dinner celebration, we brought our families and I must say, the staff at Lydia Mountain were amazing. Our server was the sweetest and she made my 4 year old grandson feel so special. Our food was delicious and served with a wonderful smile and grace. Thank you Lydia Mountain for such a wonderful experience. We will be back!
By the way this place is beautiful and the scenery is so amazing. Definitely a must see!

Stayed at the lodge and had the pleasure of dinning at Bearr appetite, first off the food was delicious and the staff was down to earth and very friendly. The Chef came out (Greg) to meet us and made sure we had a great dinning experience. We are already planning a trip back this year !

This hidden gem is worth the drive! We ate on the covered patio with an amazing mountain vista!! The prices were surprisingly reasonable & the breakfast portions were generous! What a gorgeous venue with amazing mountain views. We'll definitely go back!

Let me just begin by saying the staff was very courteous and helpful. My fiancé and I came very early to a wedding dinner and they let us stay while we waited. The drinks were wonderful, and the view is phenomenal. 10/10

Ashly deserves a raise, she did phenomenally. She basically served 10 tables alone with little to no trouble. She was very helpful and attentive. 10/10

The food, oh my, so, so good. I got the stuffed bell pepper with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies; my fiancé got the seared salmon, mixed veg, and mashed potatoes, respectively. 10/10

Ashton was the sweetest server. The atmosphere was wonderful and the location was beautiful. The food was also spectacular! Tried the feta salad with fruit and the chicken salad sandwich. Friend got the fried chicken sandwich 😋. I don't think I'd ever eat anywhere else up on the mountains! The cinnamon sugar glazed pecans should be for sale by the pound. SO GOOD

Breakfast was great. Omelet was yummy, as were hubby's pancakes. The prices were very fair. Our server was excellent and very friendly. Could not beat the beautiful views. I'm only sorry that they don't serve dinner during the week!

Bearrr Appetit did an amazing job with a last minute request for dinner for 25 people! They put us in a private room and was able to accommodate and take care of us on a Friday evening! The food was terrific and the service was outstanding! No one all evening had an empty glass or a request not filled. Thank you Bearr Appetit for taking such great care of us and making it a memorable evening, especially on such short notice!

Can't say enough about this place. Love it, the staff, owners, food, atmosphere..perfect, Jumper is the best.

What can be better than sitting on a covered deck with a view of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains? Food and service were excellent! I had the HUGE Ruben sandwich with fries and an onion ring appetizer. Yum! I will definitely go back!

The view was breathtaking! The entire building was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very friendly and fast. The food was great! The best brisket I have ever eaten. And the prices were more than reasonable! Definitely worth the trip!

This place is outstanding!! In the words of my husband when he finished his meal “this is the best burger I’be ever eaten”… and I couldn’t agree more! Chef Michael knocked it out of the park :) Additionally, the views were incredible! 100% recommend Bearrr Appetit

Wonderful staff. Very comfortable atmosphere with incredible views. Definitely a venue we frequent often when in the area.
