Lafayette Inn & Restaurant

My husband and I visited the restaurant for brunch on a Sunday. The dining room was quiet and cozy - we were seated next to the fireplace. I ordered an omelette with potatoes and grits, while my husband had the club French toast. Both of our meals were excellent! We will definitely be returning here soon!

Stayed in Diceys cottage, you can tell this building is Old, it has the creaking hardwood floors you'd expect. Regardless, it was clean and cozy. No TV in the bedroom, which is great. We did get a bit warm the last night because the heat is based off a downstairs thermostat, but no big deal there. The staff in the inn are all very hospitable. The French toast at breakfast was absolutely amazing. The inlet was also obviously not fake eggs and was delicious. I would definitely stay here again. Maybe in a room next time, maybe we'll experience some of the haunted guests too.

Great personalized service and beautifully themed rooms. We loved this place and really enjoyed our stay in the Washington room. Breakfast was excellent with great sweet and savory options. We also reserved dinner and it was fantastic. Definitely recommend this place for a beautiful, relaxing getaway.

We had dinner at this wonderful restaurant. We did not stay at the hotel so we can't speak to that. Our server Carla H. was very friendly and knowledgeable about the specials as well as the menu. My husband had the Burrata cheese salad to start. He had the scallops and I had the chicken breast - both on the regular menu. We split the lemon bar with raspberry sauce for dessert - all exceptional and we would return but this was our last night before heading home tomorrow. Thank you Carla, our hostess and the chef for a fabulous last meal of our vacation!

I worked here in 2008 in the kitchen. I had many paranormal encounters. I have been all over this hotel, some areas I never went alone. It’s got incredible food and services! A must visit!

Great place! We are staying here for 3 days. So awesome. Allen is a phenomenal host. We are staying in Dicey's Cottage. A Very cool house on the property. We have had dinner. excellent 👍. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended!! Please check it out!

Ordered takeout while on vacation. We had the Calamari, Scallop Risotto and Seafood Diablo. Everything was delicious. Will definitely come back!

A great local experience- the menu features a lot of local wine & locally cut beef. I only got take out from the restaurant & a glass of wine while waiting for my food to come out but I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the dining room, the food, the warm, friendly service, and the many cats that make the grounds of the Inn their home.
Highly recommend the desserts: The ice cream is housemade and the deep dish apple pie & creme brulee cheesecake were as good as they sound.

This place is AMAZING!! Fabulous food and drinks, the interior is beautiful and well maintained!! Will visit again, and look forward to it.

Had Sunday morning brunch. Setting was pleasant dining room was not crowded. Service was good in spite of waitress being alone. Food was excellent. Had the French toast club with a side of sausage and potatoes. Coffee was excellent.
We will be back for Sunday brunch with our out-of-town guests.
Recommend local residents stay in town to enjoy this restaurant in a beautiful old historic inn.

Delightful venue for dinner — older traditional home repurposed as a restaurant. Size of the dining room is just right for a quiet evening and a nice ambiance. Menu choices are excellent and each dish was prepared perfectly.

Pretty good burgers and food! We live outside of town limits and there aren’t tons of options for nice sit down places that offer take out. The food options are great and the flavors are there. Service was good for take out.

The food was superb! My friends and I were staying nearby, and we are so grateful we came here to have brunch! It was so delicious, we came back for dinner which was absolutely outstanding! I plan on coming back sometime to stay in their Inn. Thanks you Kaye and her staff for being so accommodating! :)

Amazing NYE meal! Even though we did carry out the food was phenomenal! We each got steaks with the blue cheese sauce (delicious) and the fried green tomatoes. It was so delicious!

Absolutely delicious food here! I highly recommend if you’re passing through or staying in the area. We ordered for takeout through their website and I ended up ordering way more food than I should have for 2 people because everything sounded so good I couldn’t decide. When we arrived the servers were very nice and immediately when to check in on our order because we got there a little early. They have a few outdoor small bistro-like tables on the side of the inn and in the back by the parking lot for takeout. We took ours back to our Airbnb and I inhaled everything as soon as we sat down. My favorite part of dinner was probably the crab cakes, or possibly my side of risotto, I still can’t decide!

Got the BLT with fried green tomatoes and burger, both fantastic. If you get the burger, come hungry. The bathrooms were clean, service was friendly and helpful. Our only regret is that we won't be able to come back before our vacation is over.

Lovely place! Wonderful food! The ambiance was absolutely beautiful. Lit candles, fireplaces, small dining room. We ended up with the place to ourselves on a Sunday night. Our server (I wish I remembered her name!) Was lovely, attentive and funny. We had a grits sampler as our appetizer and it was phenomenal. I had the Cajun Pasta, and they were nice enough to sub chicken for me instead of shrimp. My partner had the crab cakes and loved them. Everything tasted fresh, and again if you're looking for a really romantic dinner, the ambiance was perfect.

Fantastic Mother's Day meal at Lafayette Inn. The food is always on point with attentive service. It was fun to try a bite of each dish as there were 5 of us and we all ordered different entrees. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the grilled romaine wedge or the shrimp and corn risotto. The filet stack is a staple, but the scallops and mushroom risotto was divine. Then, came the sticky toffee cake, pineapple upside down cake, ice cream, and a Nightingale ice cream sandwich (Lafayette is the only place close by that sells them). As much as I enjoy the ice cream sandwiches, the two cakes were absolute treats. We were scraping the plates clean to get every last bite.
