Snap Fitness Alexandria-Belle View

I joined Snap Fitness Alexandria-Belle View and I'm very happy with my experience so far. The gym is small but cozy, and it has everything you need for a great workout.

The equipment is well-maintained and there's a good variety of machines and free weights to choose from. I also appreciate the key fob entrance, which adds an extra level of safety and security.

The staff at Snap Fitness are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's a great place to work out without feeling overwhelmed by a large gym.

Overall, I highly recommend Snap Fitness Alexandria-Belle View to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable gym experience. It's a great place to achieve your fitness goals in a relaxed and friendly environment.

I love this gym. It's so convenient and it has everything necessary for a great work out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The personal trainers are some of the best around. I love the 24hour access, and definitely would never go back to the big gyms - this place is way more personal and comfortable to work out in.

It's a good gym. I pick up heavy stuff and then put it down. If it's your dream to pick up and put down heavy things then this is the place for you. Want to run in place without seeing new places? They have treadmills. Or are you just vain? Mirrors everywhere!

This is a great gym. It's not intimidating at all and the staff could not be more friendly. It's also very clean and I always feel very safe and welcomed. Of all the gyms I've joined over the years, this is my favorite by far.

The Snap Fitness at BelleView is wonderful!' It has a perfect and convenient location and the general manager Ryne is an outstanding trainer. I have learned so much, lost weight, gained strength and look forward to exercising now. The gym is clean, friendly and has a positive atmosphere.

Facility is available 24/7 to members and is staffed during certain hours. Personal training is offered at this facility. They offer a line of Cybex Eagle fitness machines, dumbbells ranging from 5 lbs up to 100 lbs, a full set of Olympic weights, squat rack, smith machine, rowing machine, treadmills, elliptical, stationary bikes to include a recumbent and spin bike, fitness bands, plyo boxes, medicine balls, and more. The cardio machines are hooked up to Cox cable along with four TVs mounted on the wall. Clean, friendly, and accessible.

Friendly staff, clean, never overly crowded, open all hours. Conveniently located for me.

It's a good value. Have seen people comfortably exercising here at all hours of the day or night. It is never crowded.

This place is convenient, and consistently clean. Not a bad deal for the price.

UPDATE: they finally called me and got me signed quickly. Thanks to the manager. Previously: I have tried signing up for membership here in person and online and no one cares to help or get back to you.

I left OTF and PF for this gym. Budget friendly, good location, they could use a few more machines and some of the current machines could use some TLC but it gets the job done. Jenny is very nice and helpful.

My only critique is customer etiquette. Twice now I’ve been on the cable machine and been cramped or hurried off by a personal trainer or another customer. Go use another machine while I finish my set! I never stay on a machine longer than 10 mins. Good grief.

They don’t answer the phone or emails but they will return voicemail so that’s good. The new location is better, although tempting since it’s right by fast food.

Trained at this gym a few times. Not bad, small for sure, at least at this location. And if you are a big guy like me and it is busy, you will have members in your way and bumping into you and you have to wait to use a machine sometimes. If you train late hours, then no problem.You might sometimes have the whole gym to yourself. Membership cost is high for what this gym offers.

Update: 06/26/2021 - The owners have since reached out to me and provided an update on some of the equipment. Repairs to get the treadmills functioning are in the works but unfortunately there is no estimate as to when the repair will happen due to uncertainty from repair vendor. The owner advised there is no time frame for fixing the TV's on all of the treadmills as that will cost thousands and thousands of dollars and they are trying to get the treadmills working first. The owner was receptive to feedback and suggestions and seems to be trying their best, however, more equipment continues to break and be unusable. There are 4 stationary bikes: 2 of them work, 1 the display is broken, and 1 is completely missing a pedal.

Original Review: This gym has a lot going for it but unfortunately still leaves some to be desired.

Pros:
Convenience - If you live in the Belle View area, you can't beat the convenience. 24/7 and within a mile or so of both Route 1 and GW Parkway. This is a no brainer compared to other gyms that have limited hours. The gym also has a variety of equipment. Treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, free weights, weight machines, a squat rack, core training equipment. No matter what lookout you are looking to complete, you can probably do it here.

Cons:
With it being 24 hours, it is mostly unstaffed. They DO have staffed hours, but if they aren't when you workout then you may rarely see a staff member.

Not enough WORKING/PROBLEM FREE equipment: Due to the size of the gym, you often will find yourself waiting for equipment if it is crowded. There is only 1 squat rack and on crowded days that rack is taken. If you are looking to run on a treadmill, great news: there are 5 treadmills! Bad news: only 2 of them work, and none of them work properly!
Treadmill 1: Unplugged
Treadmill 2: Works, but TV doesn't work.
Treadmill 3: OUT OF ORDER sign
Treadmill 4: Works, but TV doesn't work.
Treadmill 5: Machine is being serviced sign and does not work. It has been "being serviced" for weeks now. Prior to it being restricted for use, it had signs on it saying that the TV was broken and the headphone jack was broken for MONTHS.

Summary: If you like a convenient gym, this may be for you. Just don't go in expecting to find a staffed gym with working equipment. If crowded, you may have to wait to utilize equipment that works.
