If you are Hispanic/Caribbean or from NYC or Florida or LA and looking for your childhood ingredients or your hometown ingredients to cook your traditional plates? Then this supermarket is the one for you hands down.

Pretty good deals on meat. Beats most deals at the other grocery chains. You can find whatever you're looking for in abundance.

I primarily shop at Food Star for fresh fruits and vegetables. I find the quality high and the prices reasonable.

Always well stocked with friendly staff!

I've shopped the original location ( as I was 2 blocks away ) and was so disappointed they had to leave. Have gone to their new location. Miss it so much. Glad to hear they'll be closer.
Meat department is fabulous! As is the produce!
Quick! Open that new location! ( And I'm an older Caucasian who loves to cook regular American and other ethnic cuisines!

Clean, great variety of fresh produce and all the Latin American specialties you will need. All this at much better prices than Giant.

This supermarket recently moved and, truth be told, I didn't love the old location. Nevertheless, this is a five-star review because the new location is SO MUCH BETTER. Great parking, larger and more beautiful produce section and a bigger selection of everything. Also, the prices seem right on par (or lower) than Safeway and Giant. I would go out of my way to shop here.

I love how convenient this store is. I love going here and buying fresh fruits and vegetables, also a good variety of Tropical produce and frozen goods like papaya, mangos, tamarind, guanabana, etc. I had only one bad experience with some meat I was sold. I think the butcher though I did not have a lot of knowledge about beef so he gave me a bad piece. But anyway 5 stars.

This was the spot when it was located on Columbia pike, especially the food truck that was parked in the parking lot, by the way does anyone know the name of that food trucks? Would love to remember the names of the trucks that were there. Food star had everything that I needed to make authentic homemade food. I'm glad they moved closer to us. It's now located where toys r us use to be. Hopefully I'll see them food trucks again soon.

Great place for meat and produce! Forget groceries unless looking for fun ethnic groceries like Arab, Central and South American fare, this is a good spot for you. Used to be a hidden Arlington gem!

I Really like this Grocery store. They have everything I need for a cheap price. This location is perfect for me because I can shop here when I get off from work.

I love food star. Such a change from the over-packaged, over-marketed environment of the big grocery chains. Prices for veggies, meats and staples much cheaper than chains. Loads of veggies in open bins so you can bring your own reusable produce bags and not produce plastic waste with each purchase. For the latin american traveller lots of special finds like large selection of argentinian mate.

Pricing is fair or below other supermarkets. The choices are not limited to same choices found in other big name supermarkets. The aisles are filled with foos of various cultures. There ia a freah meat area. Lota of fresh fruits & veggies. Free parking & handicapped accesibilty.

The store was nice and clean. Staff could use some custom service training. As in speaking to customers. Only one person spoke and he probably was the delivery guy

Miss them being on Columbia Pike wish they would have come back but they have great prices I recommend them especially over MegaMart Safeway or Giant and definitely say that the prices are great if you're on a fixed income and even if you're not go food star

I still love this place because this my shop when i was new in america this shop provide me food water everything with chicken good price rather than other shops hope so i heard another branch is opening soon i will shop here no more another shop please open soon.

Great produce selection, they have some staple items I can't find at regular grocery stores.

I miss the Columbia Pike location it was a Arlington Landmark but the new location in Alexandria on West Glebe is worth a visit clean and well-organized
