Robert A. Monett, MD

I have seen Dr. Monett over a period of about five years. Although he is not my main primary care practitioner at this practice, I have seen him when my main primary care practitioner was not available, in an urgent situation or for special needs he was best able to address. My finest hour with Dr. Monett was during a visit with him after a serious illness requiring hospitalization and a Rehab facility for two months. Dr. Monett was extremely patient with me. Although he did not know all of the details about this two month period, he was very patient and kind – taking plenty of time to understand the complex situation, my current medications, treat a current infection and develop an ongoing treatment plan.

For every appointment I have ever had with Dr. Monett, he has always taken the time to assure every preventative care step was current. If not, he would recommend a practical plan for taking action. In other words, although he not only addresses any medical concern or illness, he always takes the time to assure long--term wellness – a key focus and orientation for a primary care physician in my opinion.

I highly recommend Dr. Monett. I truly believe he has the patient’s best interest at heart and is knowledgeable and caring.

Always thorough, considerate of my specific questions and offering thoughtful and effectual medical diagnosis and advice...Dr. Monett and his great group of physicians and staff ( I have not ever experienced anything but true professionalism - especially when it comes to Ms. Knox) have been serving my family and the Decatur community with distinction for more years than I can remember. Thank you Dr. Monett and thanks to all of your great practice physicians for the attentive care you have provided for us over all over these years.

Reasonable wait time.Everyone is nice and polite. Dr. Monett allows his patients to have input in the possible resolutions to their health problems.

I REALLY LIKE THIS FAMILY MEDICAL PRACTICE ESPECIALLY DR MONETT. ALL THE STAFF IS EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL. MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THE RENAISSANCE PARKING LOT. IT IS OVERPRICED AND DIFFICULT TO GET AROUND. TODAY, FEB 7TH, I TOOK MY HUSBAND FOR HIS FLU SHOT.THE PROCEDURE TOOK ALL OF 10 MINUTES. WHEN WE TRIED TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT, I INSERTED MY TICKET AND WAS CHARGED $2 . THE WEATHER WAS TERRIBLE, BUT I TRIED TO INSERT A $5 BILL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE TICKET SLOT FINALLY TOOK MY MONEY, BUT DID NOT GIVE ME CHANGE AND DID NOT LIFT THE EXIT BARRIER. I TRIED TO CALL FOR ASSISTANCE AND COULD NOT GET ANYBODY. I FINALLY TRIED TO USE A CREDI TCARD, AND AFTER 3- 4 TRIES, THE MACHINE FIN ALLY TOOK MY CARD AND THE BARRIER WAS LIFTED. MY 82 YEAR OLD HUSBAND GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND TRIED TO HELP B UT BECAME FRUSTRATED AND WAS SOAKING WET. HE GOT BACK IN THE CAR AS THE BARRIER WAS LIFTED. SOMEHOW THIS PARKING SITUATION NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. IT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, THAT A PARKING GARAGE WOULD BE SO INEFFICIENT AND OVERPRICED ESPECIALLY AT A MEDICAL FACILITY.

Dr. Monett is the best! His staff is very professional and he truly takes time to listen and help.

He's been taking care of my husband for over 20years ,he's the most caring MD THAT I've EVER KNOW.

My husband and I have also been long time patients of Dr. Monett, and we have been pleased however, I would suggest that if you make an appointment to get the name of the person who made the appointment for you, since you will find upon arrival that your appointment date and time has been changed.

He didn't even bothered to check where I got the bruises.I felt he was in a hurry to goto next patient and was not showing much interest on to my issues. Ultimately an assurance that I'm alright is what i expected, but I got it before we even got into explaining him what actually i'm feeling

He is nice but did not properly treat my father. Don't confuse niceness with care. Continued telling my father with COPD he does not need oxygen. After a hospital admission, the hospital put him on O2 and asked him why he did not have it already. Even up until recently he was telling him he does not need o2 even with his labored breathing from COPD progression and a nurse saying look at the numbers. He went for a check up in February 2021 and there was no blood work done. If it would have been done as a normal check up--- they would have found out he was sick. He is now deceased. Please follow your instincts with your health

My husband and I have been patients for many years. We followed Dr. Steinberg over when she joined, but were never able to schedule with her due to her popularity. So we have bounced from doctor to doctor. Last year we used Dr Christina Knox for blood testing and were billed for multiple unauthorized tests. It took almost a year to painfully straighten out. Against my better judgement, I recently saw Dr Knox again for a blood pressure check. After never being billed for this before, I was shocked to get a bill for another unauthorized test. Somehow Dr Knox found a way to bill me for something that is covered 100% by my insurance, again. We will NOT be returning to Decatur Family Medicine as we do not have the time, money or energy to keep fighting these unauthorized bills.

Wow, I just made a call to make an appointment. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and inpatient. I am going to see the doctor anyway since I have been their patient for 3 years. I will let the doctor know and if they dont improve it next time, I will definitely change to other places.

I like Dr Monett but his office staff in the front office has been very rude. Now they tell me I am not in their system after over 20 years of going to Dr Monett. I will be finding a new doctor.
