R & O Restaurant and Catering

Went a year ago with my family which exploring New Orleans for the first time. I got the R&O Special and it was amazing!! I think about this sandwich often and crave it often. Highly recommend getting the R&O Special when visiting!!

MUST TRY the R and O Special 🥪. This sandwich is second to none, and this is coming from a picky eater. I have included a photo of 🥪 and menu. The whole costs $11.50 and you'll be taking some home. 🤤🤤🤤

This is a down home place, feeling like family once you get sat down.
During lunch and it was packed. Our waitress was such a sweetheart and our drinks were never dry.

Despite being on the corner of two very busy roads, they keep this place very clean.

Suggestions for big parties, call ahead to make sure they have your tables ready since they are so busy.

Local eatery where you go for the food. It was all delicious, and our server efficient and informative. No frills, but they usually have fantastic food. Place was packed. If locals fill up a place, you know it’s the place to eat. Went with friends (all of us from Mississippi, but three of us previous NOLA residents). We’ll be back. Making it a new must go to restaurant when we’re back in town.

Families and friends enjoying the foods you would expect folks from New Orleans to be enjoying. Crawfish were plump, juicy and perfectly spiced. Roast beef poboy had just the right amount of gravy to soak the bottom bun but left the top nice and crispy. Thank goodness NOLA calories don't count until Monday.

A real neighborhood spot and institution in the New Orleans area. Family atmosphere. Food is always amazing and I dream of their Italian salad. The only salad I ever crave. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

One of the favorite places of my Uncle Gary, had dinner with family here today to remember him. He will be missed.

We were looking for a no frills local restaurant with good food. R & O was just that! We had gumbo, shrimp po’ boys and the bread pudding. All of the food was great and you could tell it was a local crowd.

I saw this place on Man vs. Food and wanted to try it out.
Seafood gumbo was great, and has oysters, crawfish, shrimp, and okra as and real seafood gumbo should.
The R&O Specialty Poboy is to die for!
Tender hand shredded roast beef soaked in a debris gravy, topped with super thin sliced ham, swiss, lettuce, tomatoes and a thin layer of mayo. Will definitely be back!

Whenever we're in the area we always stop by and get the best roast beef poboy on Earth!

It's a very casual place with a super friendly staff who all do a fantastic job. We drive from Baton Rouge just to eat that wonderful roast beef poboy. But they have amazing seafood, pizza, and a ton of other stuff we haven't had a chance to try (yet!).

Food was amazing as well as the service. Some of the best seafood I've had in the big easy hands down. Make sure you try the fried crab claws as well as the shrimp po boy, the best! We also enjoyed a muffaletta sandwich for the first time and it was delicious! Make sure you're hungry when you come here!

It's been so long since the last time we were here I forgot how amazing the food was!! Seafood platter was huge and super good! Love thier tarter sauce! The roast beef po'boy was delicious!! The place is open room and not romantic, but hey I go to a restaurant for great food! 😋

Pretty chill place with friendly staff and plenty of seating. Based on the waiting area this place gets super busy during peak hours. No wait after 1pm so get seated immediately. The roast beef Po Boy is the item to order. Delicious Italian bread with the fixing on top making one hell of a sandwich. The fried sweet potatoes were excellent, fried to perfection and crispy. I’m sure the other Po boys are excellent as well but the roast beef is what I came for and was not disappointed. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.

R&O's is a staple in this area, in fact if I have friends visiting New Orleans I always make sure that they take a drive down to buck town to eat here
They're always packed. It's always worth the wait. The food is always consistently incredible, I have a hard time eating anywhere else when I'm in town honestly.

My family has been going to R&O's for years. They have the best onion rings (perfectly crispy and the onion doesn't slide out the crust). I have yet to order a plate of food I don't enjoy, and the waiters/waitresses aren't always the best, but I'm never unsatisfied with the service.

We have family in New Orleans and visit several popular places. For me, nothing beats R&O’s. I dream about the salad with olives until I can get back. My husband said they have the best roast beef sandwich anywhere. I love the pizza! Look forward to next visit - hope we can get back soon !

My favorite Beef Po Boy. I have been coming here for years and its first stop each time I visit the Big Easy... Local home grown ambiance and spirit that is New Orleans where everyone gets along and cheer on the Saints. Brings me back to when I was just small boy....

Wanted a real Po boy, saw this place on a food show. This place was definitely off the beaten path, but well worth it. I was craving meat, so I got the beef! Messy but delicious. There were so many other menu items we wanted to try. I wish I could eat more at one sitting. I definitely gain weight when I visit New Orleans.

I knocked off 1 star for atmosphere as it was a bit loud. Food was great. Gumbo had lots of seafood. Shrimp were fried to perfection.

We enjoy our visits to R&O’s whenever we come to town. Tonight Italian salad, soft-shell crab and oyster po-boys, thin crust pizza, and oyster plate were all great. Ice cold Abita Amber made a nice combination.
