Lafreniere Park

Awesome park!! I'm so glad our vet recommended this park! Trails, Ponds, Dog Park, Wildlife, Playground, Restrooms, Picnic tables and grills, Concession Stand, Soccer Fields, a Carousel, and Disc Golf! I'm probably forgetting some stuff, but as you can see, there's plenty here to enjoy! Highly recommend!

Very much recommended this park. There is a bird observation sight, wide paths for walking or running, and even raccoon. They have their own island, so they will not bother you, lol😁. Great for family and kids 👏

Absolutely beautiful park. So many birds and turtles . The bird sanctuary has a nice boardwalk with observation decks. There is a disc golf course, soccer fields and much more. This place is a gem

I absolutely love this place! The different species of birds are out of this world. I even saw a couple of black swans. The scenery is something like out of a painting. Very well kept up part. I even like it better than New Orleans City Park.

We just saw the Christmas Decorations at the park. Absolutely fantastic job. A Must see for all ages.

Well kept park! Very spacious park with lots of things to do. So much fun! No litter laying around. A lot of different types of ducks here & pigeons & grackles. Not many birds in 10/23.

Best park in New Orleans! Love coming here for walks. There’s an extraordinary amount of birds and other fun to watch wildlife (nutria!) And they always have fun events happening! Enjoyed the Uncle Sam Jam and the weekly Farmer’s Markets! Love to visit at Christmas time with all their fun decorations too!

Is located in Metairie LA, Beautiful Park. Take a relaxing walking with your 💕 ones and friends. You can make a bbq here also, they have several covers places with bbq grills sits electricity and more. Nice place celebrating any event. Open till 10pm.

Very large park with a very long walking/running trail. I went around 1pm on a Tuesday and there was hardly anyone there. Theres tons of parking. I counted at least 10 or so soccer fields. There are tons of wildlife. You'll see ponds and water fountains with some art sculptures too.

This is one of my favorite places to go! Whether it is for a quick one loop run, a beautiful evening walk with my spouse, or to keep myself calm and happy😊

Great exercise loop. We love walking and jogging the 2 mile loop around the outside of Lafreniere Park. There are exercise pads at two different spots that help wake up the walk and give you some alternative exercises.
Bathrooms are usually relatively clean.

We also enjoy the various animals that are at the side of the trail: geese: ducks: cats: chickens: rabbits

Normally there is ample parking unless there is a huge soccer event or something like that going on

It’s like having a free gym down the street from your house.

The most relaxing and enjoyable place to spend a day near New Orleans. It's a very large park to walk with stretch stations available.

There is a great variety of birds and ducks to see. You can also view rabbits, with cats and chickens... all living harmoniously throughout the park.

Hidden beauty in an urban area. Mostly I never explored this park, always I used to just visit only a particular part of the park. This park has a bird sanctuary. There is a children water area, it's a delight for the children in summer.

We had a great time looking at the Christmas lights they were many it was only $5 to get in. There were two concession stands to get hot chocolate popcorn and many other treats. There was a box to write letters to Santa as well as a craft area to make your own ornaments. You can drive around and look at the lights as well as Park and walk around and see even more lights. There are many photo opportunities there to take pictures the area is safe and I recommend everyone go there.

We had a blast at the 3rd of July Festival 2022!! It wasn't overly packed. The shuttle service was spot on!! There were plenty of bathrooms, food vendors, and live music!! We will for sure be back next year!!

It is a beautiful place to enjoy a walk with the family, breathe fresh air, listen to the sound of birds... I love nature

Great park for pretty much everything. Splash pad and multiple playgrounds, dog park, work out areas, jogging path, soccer fields, live music events, fresh market but most importantly nature and all of the animals.

We went see the Christmas lights. It was crazy busy as it was the Sunday before Christmas. The main road was signed for directions, the staff at the entry were super nice. There was a police car stationed at the ticket area. There were staff directing traffic in the park. It was a beautiful lights display. The driving part was perfect and the walking part was beautiful. I liked the roped off area near the displays on the driving area so we could go back and walk it too. We rode the carrousel also which was a treat. At only $5 per car and $1 per person on the carrousel it's very affordable for all size families. When we were there they were acting out the story of the Grinch on stage. Kids were writing letters to santa and dropping them in the box. Just so many activities going on and snacks to buy. The lines at the snack area was seriously long so we didn't stop for any. I absolutely love this and look forward to seeing this every year!
