Zuppardo's Family Market

Nice place to get some lunch, plenty of food. The food area was very bountiful with an array of different items to choose from. If you enjoy dessert 🍨, there are so many options 😃 my favorite part 😍

The store is very clean & organized. I got much better prices there today than at Rouses. $3.99/lb rump roast, 49 cents/lb cabbage, Blue Plate light Mayo $3.49, yellow onion $2/3 lb bag, $2 5 lb bag Mountain King white potatoes, 10 ounce Bryan sliced honey ham $3.59. All of these items cost more at Rouses because I checked. And the onions & potatoes were much fresher than Rouses.
I was very happy I spotted there & will definitely shop there more often even though it is out of my way.
The Zuppardo's family & their staff are very pleasant to deal with also. They actually help assist you when you need help. And the prices on all items are clearly marked.

Great prices considering the current inflation on groceries! A little crowded at times for me but that is because I have major social anxiety. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. They have the best prices on meats as well as their deli. You can't go anywhere else and find cheaper right now. This is truly the only place where I do all of my food shopping.

They are very helpful here. The Deli section has a varied hotbar and packaged food to go kept hot as well. The salads, soups, and sides are restaurant quality for less money. The crab and corn bisque is as good as any. Produce is fresh and well stocked by both quality and variety. Bargains can be found in the meats and seafood if you look. It's nice to check out quickly with professional cashiers instead of self checkout lines. The sushi and poke counter is always well stocked. The bakery keeps many local favorites

By far my favorite grocery store to go to when I’m home. Sometimes I make excuses to myself to go. Great produce, wine selections and deli/prepared meals. One of the best representatives of shopping for food in NOLA

Love it! One of my must stops when i visit from shreveport.this stop, i was hoping to acquire a dong phong king cake, and they did not let me down! I have not seen the new building and it is definitely diffrent.i loved this place when it looked old and had character. I like to hit the grocery stores i liked when i lived here, and i like to pick up items i can't get in shreveport. Their prices are great, and i love still seeing the older crowd coming here. Remember, if the older folks like it, it's got to be great!🙂

They always have the Crystal geyser spring water and the crab and corn soup and the best fried catfish on Friday it's awesome. Whoever fried the fish that's most crispiest crunchiest fish I ever taste in my life.

Got the most amazing King Cakes there. And did not wait in line for that one. Got the Bananas Foster, the Fig and the Joe's Bakery regular. All made a fantastic hit at the gathering! Have a wonderful Mardi Gras and go check out all the different King Cakes!

"Definitely the BEST Supermarket in the Greater New Orleans Area" (more than worth the drive).
They have all of the big brands as well as local Louisiana brands. The varieties are wide. I've seen varieties of staples that I did not know existed.
Also, their produce is above par. Always fresh, always clean. Their baking potatoes 🥔 are clean, nothing comes off when I rinse and scrub them. The brussels sprouts are HUMONGOUS! (see below).
The last time I was there, I counted over 17 varieties of apples (photo only shows some of the refrigerated apples). I bought two. Did not eat any until 2 weeks later and they were crunchy, juicy, and flavourful.
The meat selection is top-notch. Not only do they have lamb, they have a variety of cuts. Also in the meat section are varieties of red meats and cuts.
They also have a very large selection of prepared foods. I haven't tried any, I do intend to when the occasion arrives.
And in a price comparison, Zuppardo's is a much better value than Walmart.

Two random items I love from Zuppardo's - their Thunder dip and their prepared red beans! And John is very hands on, walking around collecting items for pre-orders and was helpful with my questions on Zatarains vs Tony Cacheres, and the local coffee choices!

I really catch myself shopping here more often than other markets in the area. They have a wide selection of choices in the deli. They also have a hot food bar, and they make pizza and sandwiches in store that are budget friendly.

Get the Central Grocer muffaletta for $27 - worth the $! Also, the NOLA rum cake!

This store was so clean. Everything was so fresh and everyone that worked there was so helpful and kind. I wish there were more locations. Grow small so they can all be this good.

Good place to find essentials and some hard to find items such as fancier cheeses and meats. Employees are super helpful and are super knowledgeable. Warning: store is almost always busy, but lines move fairly swiftly. Prices are on par with larger chains, with some local fare being cheaoer than most.

One of the best grocery stores in the New Orleans area. The new Zuppardo’s supermarket has everything you need. Their deli section is huge.

Clean, well stocked, and full of knowledgeable employees. We couldn't find the celery and asked, and the man in the produce section told us they were out of the regular stalks but had organic celery hearts -- appreciated his courtesy and knowledge. We also scored a Dong Phuong king cake on our Lundi Gras visit!

I liked MOST of my coworkers when I worked there. OF course, with the amount that THEy pay their employees, It's a good starting job to understand the value of PEOPLE skills that will help you in your adult career. There are lots of cameras, allowing the store to be monitored from all angels so THAT they can stop shoplifters. I HAVE met a lot of great customers there to as well as managers. ADDED days to your work week, allow for a least percent chance of you looking for another job. ON SNAPCHAT, I have added a lot of my coworkers from the place after I QUITTED because of school.

Very Nice and Very Busy.. I Had Been Meaning To Visit since it was Built But Don't Drive..i Was Visiting By Vehicle with my Sister Who lives In Slidell ..I Live In Downtown New Orleans and I Terribly Miss The Pre Katrina Gentilly Store and Long For them to Reopen Like Countless Other People..All these Dollar General and Family Dollar Closures, Please Consider . One of those Would Be The Perfect Size as The Old Gentilly Store and would Be Great .. We Miss You in New Orleans ❤😰

Love, love, love, Zuppardos. I love the meat, the seafood, and the staff. The cooked food bar has some delicious dishes. I travel from New Orleans to shop there.
