I have gifted Cooper-Mays pottery for 25 years. Martha creates stunningly unique pottery that is both functional and decorative. And she is a delightful and generous woman. I finally gifted myself this weekend and am so pleased! Best wishes to you in your retirement!!

I would highly recommend a visit to see May’s beautiful work! She is a lovely person and is very talented. I bought a large bowl as a birthday gift and a smaller one for myself. I saw the negative review from 6yrs ago and have to say.... who takes children into a shop full of beautiful handmade breakables and expects them to have free range without any guidance🤦🏼‍♀May is awesome 😁

We’ve stopped by many times and each visit we get the pleasure of speaking with Martha and hearing about her work. There are so many options available!

We finally stopped into this pottery shop after living in the area for better than a year. What a great experience! We visited today and bought several items while talking with the owner, Martha, and learning about the area's history. The style of the porcelain pottery is truly lovely - interesting shapes and flourishes and beautiful colors. We will return for both the pottery and the conversation.

Mays Pottery has beautiful handmade pottery. Great selection of unique plates, bowls, mugs and cups, and lots of variety in designs. She also sells locally made soaps. Prices are reasonable and quality is very good.

The next best thing to an art gallery.This is a "must" if you are in the area or passing through the area.High and dishware that will compliment any kitchen or dinning room.Amazing design complicated with magical colors all crafted by hand with care.I can't wait to return and see the owners as the have become friends.

The only coffee mugs that we will drink out of! Also love her soup bowls and pie plates. Beautiful pottery and fun to visit.

I needed to buy some gifts that are unique from North Carolina, and a business associate recommended this place. He said he always buys gifts there for his clients in Asia. The store was a little hard to find because of the location, but the experience was great. I got what I wanted and had a lovely conversation with Martha, the store owner. Will definitely go back to buy more.

Over 20 years ago we met Mrs. Cooper Mays at her pottery and decided to make her beautiful handmade porcelain dishes our only set for all occasions. We bought a set of dinner plates, lunch plates, bowls, and more. They've served our food and been dishwashed, microwaved, and refrigerated all these years. They still look beautiful and are still our only set of dishes.
Over the years, we chipped two or three edges so we were delighted yesterday when we revisited her pottery and found we could buy replacements and additions. All the pieces are handmade and no two are exactly alike but the colors and shapes still match the ones we bought in 1992.
We love the North Carolina tradition of handmade pottery. Decorative pieces that sit on a shelf are nice but you can actually use Cooper Mays dinnerware everyday in your kitchen and dining room!

Lovely, lovely lady owns this shop. I visited with a friend and saw this wonderful pottery. If course, I purchased a mug so i could own a piece of her work.

Over time, I have bought 3 bowls for myself, 2 bowls as gifts for friends. Smallish bowls I use for eating out of, storing food, mixing batters. Functional shapes, attractive glazes, reasonable priced.

Martha is a delight to talk with and her Bynum house/shop is a favorite stop of mine when in the Pittsboro area.

The pottery at this shop is simply gorgeous. I have been a collector of Martha's pottery for years. She's has always been very friendly and I look forward to returning to her shop again.

Miss Martha is truly a hidden treasure of Pittsboro...she is so talented and her creations are well worth the investment!!! You will not regret taking the trip to go see her studio and learn more about her creations!!!!

Wonderful place to get handmade pottery

I bought two mugs for my wife and I to drink coffee together. We now drink coffee together and admire each other's mugs.
