Carr Mill Mall

It is a wonderful place to shop full of lively and creative independent businesses. While I don’t necessarily agree with agressive towing policy, by boycotting the mall, you are only hurting small business owners, merchants, & their staff. As long as you do not leave the mall when you are shopping in there, you will not be towed. I work in the mall and I am saddened to see that people are posting about not supporting our lovely local businesses. There is free parking near Hampton Inn if this is a concern to you. Sometimes there is even street parking available!

I love visiting Carr Mill Mall! When you step inside the mall, it takes you back in time. It was built in 1898 and was formerly a cotton mill. It houses numerous restaurants and stores. However, be careful if you park there and leave your car to go across the street! Apparently, there are cameras all around the building with predatory tow truck drivers from Barnes Towing waiting to tow your car! This puts those businesses in a terrible position, and they had nothing to do with this.

Cutest mall around! It's smaller than most "malls" but Carr Mill has alot to offer. Our little boys favorite toy shop, Ali Cat Toys, is located here. Ali Cat offers tons of unique and "good ol fashioned" toys such as wooden toys, stuffed animals and metal cars. They also sell stem based, crafts and puzzles, the type toys that encourage learning and creativity! There's also a great perfume shop at Carr Mill that carries pretty much every scent in the world, the staff is so knowledgeable on perfumes as well as helpful and kind, they'll let you sample a scent to make sure it's exactly what you're looking for and even spray a spritz on your skin as well as a small paper since scents can change as they warm on the skin, I learned that fact thanks to them! There's a great little jewelry shop, This Ring's True, the jewelers that make some of the jewelry displayed in the cases work out of the shop so it's really neat to meet the person who actually made the piece you're looking at. They can also special order in items if you need a new watch band or something else that they don't necessarily keep in store. There's a fabric shop that carries all kinds of beautiful textiles, I have only purchased silk ribbons from them but if I were to need fabric or cloth I'd definitely consider this place for those as well. There's a few restaurants here including a pizza parlor and an eclectic coffee shop with Moroccan vibes, a laid back place to hang out and catch up on emails or meet a friend for coffee. The best part of Carr Mill Mall is the structure itself! It was once an actual mill house factory, not entirely sure what was "milled" there but the wood and brick is gorgeous and I love that the town of Carrboro renovated it instead of knocking it over to build another building. You really should check this place out, it's something to see for yourself!

A nice mall with both Harris Teeter and Weaver Street Market. Ample parking. CVS.

Ally Cat with my favorite toy store growing up and now it's my kids favorite and my favorite shop for him at. I've never seen some of the toys they have there anywhere else. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it to keep that store alive!

Carr mill mall is located in town of carrboro , it a small mall. It’s Very quite mall. Kid like to walk around there . Very clean place.

Great small shopping mall. They had a great toy store and several restaurants as well as fabric, clothing, tailors, jewelry repair.

Went to the Firefly shop and it has such a variety of jewelry, jewelry bead making materials and more! Great place to visit and explore when you're in Carrboro/Chapel Hill area!

Nice easy place to get in and of. Nice and clean. Not a boring place. Quiet enough you hear .but still enjoy the sounds of the business and people. It is an old mill that loves the camera.

Fantastic food. Service was slow though - they're probably short-staffed like everyone else.

One of the most successful factory mill conversions in the whole area. Unique shops and studios, close to everything, plenty of parking, and elevators to the second floor. With major grocery and hardware stores on the same lot. With more around the corner.

It's a great local indoor mini mall.

Been a long time since I have been here, a lot of new places, and glad to see some old ones too, a great experience for poking around and looking for a new ideas, presents, or alittle something for yourself.

Great food, excellent service, good atmosphere. I had the salmon, a glass of wine and chocolate moose for desert, and it all tasted fantastic. I would highly recommend you dine at Venables, on your next visit to UNC.

Beautiful 100 year old building – a repurposed cotton mill, now with eclectic shops and delicious food. And a GREAT TOY STORE! Perfect place to visit when you're walking around town. Salon just moved in, and bookstore coming soon!
