Zambras was one of my favorite restaurants I’ve been to in Asheville. Wasn’t even planning on going until we had change in plans and boy am I so grateful for it. The tapas style was really fun to split everything and after 5 tapas we were very full and satisfied. The pomegranate mango pork spring rolls were to die for. Also the fried soft shell crab was so delicious with a very tasty sauce with Serrano ham on top. The lemon and egg soup was another fantastic tapa. The atmosphere there was very vibey and cozy, felt like we were in a cool underground cave, and even the music playing was so good. The lamb meatballs and patatas bravas were the other dishes we got and those were also phenomenal. I will absolutely be going back and taking more friends and family there to try!!

Wonderful experience here recently with my wife for dinner. The server made superb wine suggestions, plus she was completely attentive to dietary restrictions with regard to menu items & their ingredients. She checked things with the chef for details & worked with us successfully for helpful tweaks for items where possible, while being clear which items could not be adjusted. The menu items were all delicious & we took several items home, enjoying them later.

I absolutely loved this place! It was my first time here. The food was outstanding, and the drinks were top-notch. It's such a beautiful place, especially at night. They have it all lit up with low light and candles. It was very romantic and sexy. The staff was wonderful, too.

I love everything about Zambra. Service was impeccable, the menu caters to all customers with different restrictions, a good variety of wines and the food is delicious. I'll be back soon.

We had a wonderful experience.
We were lucky to get Grace as our server.
We go every year on our travels back home.
We went expecting our favourite tapas to discover a new menu.
Our disappointment disappeared when we tasted our food.
Innovative.
Great mouth feel.
Interesting flavours.
We had 2 dips, eggplant and red pepper. Lots of fresh grilled pita. Plus a very tasty red fish.
Exceeded all very high expectations.

Ordered the gnocchi on both previous reviews and server recommendations: excellent. Husband wanted seafood, so gambas de ajillo, which went excellent with the Volver tempranillo. Servers and host were friendly and helpful in picking both dishes and drinks. Very glad we stopped by and will save for future visits.

My husband and I went here for dinner and drinks on our last night in Asheville.

We shared a carafe of red sangria (delicious! It was different but good! Tasted like Christmas!) and some tapas. We started with the Owl bakery bread, oil, and vinegar (so good!). We ordered the tapas one at a time which is so nice. They had tapa specials and then tapas that they have all the time so there were a ton of choices. We went with the pork spring rolls (amazing!), gnocchi/sweet potato (different and delicious!), and the roasted carrots (so good!). We wanted to try more but we were stuffed!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Shauna was our waitress and she was great!

The atmosphere is totally different from anywhere we have ever eaten. We had a very cozy and romantic seating area.

Highly recommend! Make reservations as they can get busy. Parking is nearby.

Zambra brings a very unique, rustic experience to the heart of Asheville while at the same time being very hard to miss while passing along the street. This little nook of a restaurant provides a delicious tapas experience specializing in spanish roots. In the Asheville area, I would consider its main comparator being Curate. Zambra is unique is the sense of dimly lit romantic atmosphere that makes it a great place to enjoy a date night out. I’d also highly recommend for large group settings looking for a range of delicious Spanish tapas while being slightly cheaper than Curate.

The service, staff, and bar service is excellent. The cocktails are excellently prepared, service was always on point and well attentive, and the food was delicious as well. Favorite dish would be the grilled maitake mushrooms. A very surprising taste and texture brought to these mushrooms, and cannot rave enough about this dish. Flank steak was very delicious, along with the scallops. Loved the asparagus gazpacho pairing contrast with the scallops.

The cocktails were amazing as well - Spanish Negroni provided and excellent twist to the traditional style Negroni. They also provide a very large list of excellent wines. They have an incredible selection here.

Absolutely loved this restaurant in general. Great eating experience to wind down the night with in Asheville. It is quite dimly lit inside, which is to my preference, however if you’re one to pull out a phone light to read, I may recommend looking elsewhere as not to disturb other guests.

Went there for our 20th wedding anniversary. Was poorly seated but asked to be moved and was accommodated. Food and atmosphere was great after that. Every dish was delicious.

The small dishes are really delicious and with 2 or 3 you can get full quickly. I got the sangria and it was very good. I also recommend the roasted beef and the Buffalo chicken. Service was also amazing. My favorite part though is the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant. Feels very cozy and nice. This was a great addition to our Asheville trip - definitely coming back :)

Ive been here 3 times with my wife now and plan on coming back more.

First off, the atmosphere here is amazing. Its beautiful with its soft blue and amber colors. There’s very artistic walls, pictures, art, and seating all over the place. They also have a great selection of wines to choose from.

The thing we love the most is the amazing choices of food they have… they are so incredible each time. Seriously some of the best tasting food ever. These guys are the best.

Such an amazing experience. Staff was super helpful with suggestions. Plates came out hot and fresh. Everything we had was delicious. The pork loin was our favorite dish of all, the gnocchi was great. The pork spring rolls was the second best super cool atmosphere the place is so much larger than it looks from the outside, and there is a parking deck within walking distance. Overall great experience we will be back.

We had a great meal here with friends. The food was fantastic, the service was as well. The food prices were very fair. It came to about $50 per person not including the wine.

Phenomenal.. great great service, exceptional pairing with our palates. The food had such DIFFERENT textures, tastes, and presentations. Highly recommend for locals and visitors. The wine selection does a great job of bringing European and western American wines to life with excellent descriptions of what wine mood you are in for (eg- tempranillo medium body or full bodied fruit forward). If you want to try dishes youd never see anywhere else and are exotic, you come here. Date night impressive for first timers or great friends evening.

Great service, great wine list with selections to not break the bank. The gnocchi and pork spring rolls were top! The food came out quite quickly and water was always filled. The mussels were to be desired, great flavor but still...

We ate here last night with a group of 8! The food was incredible. My favorite was the tuna tartare. I order this dish nearly everywhere I go and this was the best I’ve had! I loved the overall ambiance of the restaurant and service was great! I would definitely eat here again when I’m in the Asheville area.

Excellent. The bread and oil was amazing, although i think the crust could have been a little less stiff. Scallops were very good as well, although 22$ for 3 seems a little high but they were still great. Ambience was amazing and our server was helpful without being too forward. I cant recall if the olives mentioned that they had pits, but we weren’t aware and we ordered them to eat with our bread but they posed a little challenge. Nothing we couldn’t handle lol. We spent about 65$ on olives, local bread and oil, shrimp, scallops, and patatas bravas.

Food was delicious and our server was awesome. We had a fantastic time. Tapas is the main feature, but the full dinner plates were excellent also. Definitely order the Octopus tapas dish!!
